For some reason I feel the need to rate this location a smidge higher than the fed hill location. I just got a better feel for this place. I went this past Friday for lunch and because the weather was nice enough for me to sit outside and soak up some vit d while eating, that was a plus. Ordered the New England deer burger this time. I’ve tried a couple different exotic burgers here and for some reason I can never taste a difference in either one of them. If they were overcharging me for different burgers and serving just beef I wouldn’t be surprised. However, I have to admit that this one did taste better, not different, but better than the rest. I’m not one to eat my food as if I’m in some kind of food eating contest so I have noticed that by the time I get almost half way through the burger they get really cold and dry which makes it harder to finish at that point. Which is probably why I never do. I’m not usually a fan of the homemade chips because they’re usually too hard to chew and trying to gives me a headache. Maybe that’s because I usually go here late at night and they’ve probably been sitting all day and this time since I went for lunch they were a little more fresh. IDK. But this time they had the crispness of regular potato chips with a dash of old bay on them… perfecto. This was also the first time where service was exceptional too. I never got that at the fed hill location. I probably would return here on a warm spring night

I’ve been looking forward to going to Abbey for over 3 years now, since a friend went and said it was their favorite burger in Baltimore. The first 3 times I tried for dinner it was over an hour wait, so I decided to go elsewhere. When the new location opened in Fells(near my office), I was ecstatic to think I could grab a solid lunch without having to deal with the Fed dinner crowd. So we arrived at the restaurant right at noon, and were seated immediately. We got our menus and some water promptly. After about 10 minutes of staring at the menu, I finally settled on a Duck burger(medium) with ketchup, mayo, lettuce, moz, and onions on a classic bun. The waiter came and took our orders at about 12:15. Kind of amazed it took that long, seeing how the place was between half to ¾s full.(Never got the waiters name. He seemed more like a bartender that just happened to be covering some tables.)Then the waiting game begins.(No pun intended) At 12:55 our food finally comes to the table(this now being the first time we have seen our waiter since he took our orders). We scarf the food down, and it was delicious. My burger was a smidge over cooked, but I like medium well as much as medium, so no real crime there. It met all of my expectations, and they were pretty high. One of my coworkers got the lamb burger and raved about it as well, no one was disappointed. We finish our meal and sit around for about 10 minutes waiting for the waiter to notice us. After staring at the back of his head he finally sees me, and I signal for the check. He comes and brings us our checks to which we manually bring up to the bar over fear of never seeing him again. Arrive at the restaurant at noon, leave at 1:25, not really reasonable, especially for lunch. TL:DR Food was amazing, service was awful, $ 11– $ 15 per person without drinks.

There are so many bad or mediocre burgers in Fells Point. So it’s great to find a new place with an excellent burger. There are many choices of burgers and many different types of meats. Plus they have an excellent beer selection with 40 taps So glad to see something new and excellent in Fells Point

I went here last week with my husband. We wanted to get a good burger before heading to the movies and this did not disappoint! We were concerned because we heard this location wasn’t as good as the original in Fed Hill. Maybe that lowered our expectations, but all I know was that it was delicious. We started with the crab tots, which were pretty good. My husband was happy with the selection of beers. We both thought it might be a good location to come watch some games, because they have tons of TVs. We both made our own burgers. They were a good size and reasonably priced. Our wait staff was very attentive and nice. We will definitely go back!

Beyond delicious. So many burger selections from build your own. The staff was helpful and fun. The meal was everything we hoped it would be! Great location! We will be going back

We didn’t stay for food, but I like the Federal Hill location better. There is something about the scene here, I can’t place it, I just think the other location is best.

If you’re a gal looking to pick up a guy, you’ll have your pick here. I would hardly call this a «bistro» as it is definitely a bar catering to men. The night I went the men outnumbered the women 5 – 1. So it wasn’t an entirely friendly place for a co-ed group or group of women — dudes love this place, apparently. Lots of tv’s, large burger menu, and a variety of bottled beers make this place bro-friendly. But when we saw the spiked shakes on the menu, we perked up and thought we would give those a try. But they were pretty disappointing. The Berger cookie shake I ordered tasted like a regular vanilla shake spiked with liqueur, and tasted no different from the Fat Irishman my friend ordered. But the most disappointing thing about it was that it wasn’t really a shake — by the time it got to my table it was just cold, flavored milk. Either it sat at the bar way too long after being made, or whoever made it has no clue how to make a decent milkshake. Service here was confusing, we were asked to wait for a table when we came in, but saw others walking in and just grabbing them. We wanted to sit at a table, so the waitress made some people move who were just standing around one. A waiter came over once to take drink orders, brought them back, but never returned. We ended up going up to the bar for later rounds, and getting our check from the bar. Not really sure what happened to the waiter. All around very confusing and inconsistent. We arrived around 9:30pm, which I get is kind of a transition time for a lot of places in Fell’s — but they really did a poor job in communicating and providing decent service. I might try again for an earlier dinner to try the burgers, but the whole atmosphere wasn’t really great for late night for my tastes.

Would I go to a place purely for the spicy pickles? Maybe. Abbey is OK, I’ve been 3 times now and the service has gotten much better since my 1st visit. It’s clean and the burgers & beer selection are really good though in my opinion a bit over-priced. The average burger w/fries cost about $ 13 which wouldn’t be so bad if the portions weren’t so small. If you’re going to charge people extra for fries you should give them more than what you are currently, maybe do some research around fells because you’re portioning in really skimpy. I have left there still hungry every time I’ve gone.

My hubby and I ordered a camel burger, and it was incredible! We had a lot of fun designing our burgers, and ended up with some tasty outcomes. We definitely recommend a visit!

We have been twice to the new location once the first week of January on a week night and again on a Sunday during the football games. I have to say I was very excited to see Abbey coming to Fells because the trek to Fed Hill was significant. I was hoping for the meals to be as good as the FH location and I was so completely disappointed. On my first visit I ordered my burger medium and received a rare burger. Not med-rare, mooing rare. The battered pickles were cold and all dough, no pickles. Okay, perhaps the kitchen is still figuring it out. We gave them a few weeks to get on their feet. Giving them a pass since they had only been open a week at that point, we went back a couple of weeks later. There were three of us, when the food was delivered to the table(not by our server) only two of the three burgers came out. Turns out the order printer in the kitchen had run out of paper during our order and they completely missed the third order. How does that happen? Wouldn’t someone in the kitchen verify they had the whole order? Needless to say, I am completely disappointed with the kitchen at this location and the lack of any sort of concern for the patrons on their part. Neither of the servers was apologetic or concerned that the kitchen messed up our orders. If(and that’s a BIG if) I ever go back, I will only order beer, no more burgers from this location. I’d rather be disappointed for $ 7 at Smash Burger than for $ 14 at Abbey.

This is one of my new favorite bars in Fell’s. The service is wonderful, the burgers are great and the inside design is really nice. I went there last night with friends and got the chili burger, it was awesome. I ordered a delirium and thought it tasted like water. I told our server and he was very apologetic and immediately came with a new one and explained that they are still adjusting to their tap system. No harm there! Then, my buddy spilled half of his beer on the floor. The server came, wiped it up and refilled by friend’s beer for free, which he did not need to do. We each got a burger and three beers and it was about $ 40 a person. Great place for games, too!

Firstly the food was great and as a big fan of Smaltimore I trust these guys know what they’re doing. Sadly I will not be the first or the last that your bartender loses business because of. After sitting down at a communal type table the bartender reaches us in a reasonable amount of time I had the Diamondback Black IPA my friend had the 51 Rye from Monument City, he assures me the lamb burger would be good and it truly was. After we order our food a couple seats open up at the bar and so we moved 5 feet directly in front of us to them. This was the last interaction we had with the bartender when asking if he minded. The food came in a reasonable time and I had to ask the food runner what was on his tray because I knew it was ours even though in my order I requested a normal bun and it came with the menu listed pita bread. No big deal I’m hungry and will live. The manager gives us forks and napkins since the bartender all of six feet away has continued to ignore us. Again the food was great my friend had the Bison Burger and was pleased. However the bartender never checked on us and after we had finished and stacked the plates for him with empty beers and nearly empty waters we sat for 15 minutes while staring at the bartender trying to force pull him towards us he manages to take a bite off a guests plate at the bar 3 seats down and take the 3 steps necessary to ask if we would like anything, we ask for the check. He drops it down and we quickly put two cards down, another ten minutes go by and the manager has to split our check for us. Overall yes I’ll be back but if you have the unfortunate luck to see this guy behind the bar(the check said Bobby S.) just try again another time.

The Abbey Burger is a pretty straight forward bar, Baltimore style(narrow, but well planed out), however well lit and very pleasant. You would want to go here for the large beer selection and a well stocked bar. Its a nice friendly place for a small group to gather and chat, though I could picture it getting noisy at night, it is in the fells point area after all. They really position themselves as a Burger joint, even going so far to have a paper menu you can select your burger fixings from(think sushi joint), or go from their limited selection of «Specialty burgers». Bugers start at 11 bucks, with house made chips. You can get waffle fries instead, but I didn’t find out if that was extra. I found myself in The Abbey for lunch, excited to find a new place. This is not a lunch spot for people working in the area. Nothing is under 10 bucks and the atmosphere is better for a small group than a quick lunch(though they were pretty quick about it at the bar). I ordered the Buffalo Burger — which was little bit of blue cheese on top of a pretty good buffalo sauce. It could have used lettuce. The burger itself was loosely packed, juicy and had a pretty good taste. There are local places a dollar or so cheaper for a comparable burger, but if I was there for a couple of beers, I would be willing to pay the extra for the ambiance and tap selection. End result: A fun new place that isn’t helpful in my search for lunch spots, unless they start having lunch specials. I’ll come back when needing a good burger place to have a few beers and watch a game.
