Yo Sushi

I ate there 1 – 30. Waitress greeted us and sat us down. She was very nice and when I asked about the luncheon specials she directed us to the back of the menu. The prices are reasonable and miso soup and salad are included. We ordered edamame for the appetizer. She brought out the salad and miso soup. After 5 minutes the rolls came out. You get 6 pieces per roll. I had ordered the spicy tuna and salmon avocado. In all the food was very good and the atmosphere was very nice. The waitress was prompt and kept filling my ice water.

Whether we’re dining in or ordering food to go, the sushi and service are always great. The servers are so polite and attentive to your every need. You won’t find this level of friendliness or care at other sushi places in the area. The menu items here are not fancy, but they are delicious. Yo Sushi is my go-​to place when I’m craving sushi in west county.

Enjoyed a New Years Eve dinner at Yo Sushi. We were greeted warmly by the servers but oddly not by the Sushi Chefs. We had the Standard Miso Soup and Salad with Ginger Dressing and tried several rolls, Tempura Shrimp, Spicy Tuna and several of the Special Rolls whose names evade me. One was topped with crab and another with avacado as well as and a selection of Nigiri. Very good sushi served by an attentive server. A good choice if you are in the area.

This restaurant has a very pleasant ambiance and helpful staff.
I thought the sushi was terrible. I ordered two special rolls (Philly and Rainbow) that were so salty I couldn’t finish. Now it’s 2 hours later, I’ve been on a walk with my dog, and I still feel like I could throw up.
Go somewhere else for sushi.

Very good Sushi and excellent great green tea ice cream dessert! I was traveling in the area and craving sushi, so I did a little Unilocal searching and found this little Sushi place. Excellent service and fresh sushi!

It was a bit fishy and presentation wasn’t all that great either but I will say it’s cute place and their green tea ice cream was amazing!

Love this place! It’s our go-​to sushi place. Never had anything we didn’t love. Wait staff is extremely friendly. Crab rangoon is to die for!

Decided to try this place out because I was in the area and it had pretty good views. Well, those reviews were wrong. Although the people working were VERY nice and accommodating, the sushi was not good at all. The calamari was extremely chewy, the rolls were very tiny overall and I couldn’t even finish because flavor was horrible. I gave 3 stars for the good customer service but not impressed with sushi.

Last week I went to Yo Sushi with a bunch of my cousins to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend. I had no idea what to expect since I have never even heard of this place to be honest. We had our own little happy our with plenty of sake bombs and sushi rolls. Honestly, I wish I knew exactly what we had but to be honest it all was relatively on point. The service was phenomenal and we all were satified with the atmosphere and the food. I recommend going with a large group 8 – 12 people sometime like we did.

I looove this place! If you’re looking for fantastic sushi at a great price accompanied with great service, please come and try Yo Sushi! You won’t be disappointed. My boyfriend also likes their non-​sushi dishes. I give this five million stars… Yummy!!!

In town on business and found on Unilocal.Good sushi, not excellent but good. The specialty roll with spicy salmon was a little fishy. But it was just what I expected and excellent service. And a very quaint and inviting space.

I was pretty impressed with the décor the first time I stepped in to this little gem in a small strip mall. It was nice, wooden, and felt comfortably Japanese.
Yo Sushi is not amazing, ultra-​chic sushi. It is a sushi place I would consider top quality and comfortable. If the family is considerig options for dinner in West Ballwin, Yo Sushi should be the Japanese choice.
For an example of care and quality, consider that the spicy tuna roll is all made to order. Not until you place the order is the tuna cut and mixed with sauce. You aren’t getting the tuna past its sushi prime hidden with spicy sauce.
Their service is also very, very good. They will make sure your experience and food is exactly what you want.

Had the lunch special: 2 rolls, miso soup and salad. The shrimp tempura roll was good but didn’t care for the spicy tuna roll. Decent but not my favorite.

Definitely the best kept secret in Ballwin. The sushi here is incredible. The family that owns this place is great. So friendly and obviously committed to delivering a great product.
The inside has a nice vibe. I learned that the sushi chef studied under a master chef for quite awhile, and he’s doing a lot of cool things that you don’t find everywhere else. He makes all of his own sauces to complement the different rolls, which was awesome.
If you’re out west on Manchester, definitely give this place a try. I’ll be making lots of special trips out here for the lobster roll.

Stopped here for lunch because kid 1 is always in the mood for sushi and I had promised her lunch as an enticement to get her out of bed before noon during summer vacation.
I went for the 2-​roll special. It came with soup and salad for about ten bucks. Typical soup and salad and on par with those I’ve had in about a hundred other places. Good but nothing exceptional. Not sure I would want something exceptional so good was more than sufficient.
I chose the yellowtail roll and the eel & avocado rolls. Both were good but I think the eel & avocado was the better of the two. The avocado was perfectly ripe while the eel was warm without being hot. Just the right amount of the sweet and sticky eel sauce also.
Final note: great service. The woman who waited on us answered all questions, kept my soda full and offered me a go-​cup at the end of our lunch.

I am new to the city and I had been looking for a good local sushi restaurant. This place is amazing not only is the sushi good but the service is impeccable. I really recommend this place to any sushi lover. I would also recommend the fried philly roll!

My wife and I went here for a quick date night. We are new to the sushi scene but absolutely loved it! Crab Rangoon had a nice garlic hint to it I hadn’t had before with Rangoon. Quick service, clean place, very good price. Definitely recommend!

Excellent sushi. This establishment used to be called Sapporo but new management has taken over. Everything inside looks the same and the sushi was great. Our server was attentive and very friendly. If you are looking for a casual but nice dining sushi restaurant in the Ellisville area, come here! Don’t let the fact that it’s part of a small strip mall turn you off. It’s a very good restaurant.
