Sherwood’s Forest-Nursery & Garden Center

A great place for big trees. If you don’t feel like waiting ten years for your established trees, they have them right now at Sherwood’s.

When looking for a tree, where should you go? A Forest, of course and we went to Sherwood Forest. They have a certified Arborist on staff who can assist you in picking the perfect tree for yard.
Working with a small space, we knew we would need to focus on dwarf trees. The two we selected were a Walkingstick and a Crimson Queen Japanese Maple. For 60% of the retail price they will plant your new tree for you and give you a two year warranty. If you plant it yourself, it is only a 1 year warranty.
Our Walkingstick was so tall we had to have them deliver it, so why not have them plant it too. Their truck was so cool. It has a robot arm that lifts your tree off the truck, extends itself and lowers it to its’ new home. It was so cool to watch and it made their job so much easier. We could of done the Crimson Queen ourselves, but had them do it as well.
They do have other greenhouses, but our focus was trees and we are happy customers. I just wish I could have a tree big enough for a tree-​house.

Headed out to go shopping for some cool plants. Huge selection and friendly staff. We got quite a lot on our visit. Everything looked very well taken care of… didn’t see an iguana either.

This is a very capable nursery that has extensive green houses for you to go through. This is probably St. Louis’ most well known nursery. They do have a large selection of plants and a lot of showy things for your garden — topiaries and such — that you won’t find elsewhere. The thing that I don’t like is that they have a huge iguana in a tiny cage and I just feel bad for him.
