Salon Dacota

I decided to change stylists after having gone to the same person for about 10 years. I used to always walk away thrilled with my hair. But over the past year or so, it just isn’t working anymore for whatever reason. After a year’s worth of unhappy results, I decided to look for another salon, especially since I am moving to the Ballwin area soon. My first visit at Salon Dacota was a little over a month ago and I saw Libby. She was very nice and took time to listen to me and gain an understanding of what I wanted my hair to look like. She also gave me some suggestions on how to modify the way my old stylist had been cutting my hair, which she thought would improve the look. And it really did. I plan to return soon!

I was looking for a place to get my hair cut and dyed. The reviews here don’t lie. Very friendly people (although not very talkative). Got a great dye and she listened to what I wanted with my hair. Libby is sweet. I will be back!

I had been looking for a new salon near my home and stumbled upon this gem! I had a great experience with Leslie who listened to my every request which is something I have had difficulty with in the past. I absolutely loved my layers and my bangs! She did a fabulous blow dry style that I wish I could have every day!!! Amazing!!!

Fantastic! I’ve held off on writing this review, living with my new cut and color for a few weeks. I wanted to be sure I still loved it after styling myself on rushed workday mornings. And I do!!! After tiring of Ginger Bay, I went in to the salon for the first time a hoping for a new look. I have long hair, and typically style it with a curling wand or blown out. I chatted with Valla about my needs and habits. I was willing to go for bangs a more expensive treatment, but she steered me towards full foil highlights and a freshened up cut. She was right! I love my new look, and look forward to a long relationship with the salon. The experience was great — — love the online booking, great atmosphere — - relaxed, professional, stylish. I stumbled across Salon Dacota and am SO happy that I did. My designer, Jordan, was wonderful. She helped me decide on a color that would suit me, did exactly what I asked her to with my cut, and was an all around gem. I’m a wanna-​be red head and have trouble keeping color in my hair, but I’m happy to say that it’s been over a month since coloring my hair and I’m still pleased with the color. The atmosphere of the salon is great, their color/​products are top notch, and the rest of the designers are friendly and inviting. I highly recommend Salon Dacota and Jordan.

I drove to St. Louis from Northern KY and needed a stylist in a bad way. I had gone to an upscale salon the day before in Crestview Hills, KY but unfortunately the cut just wasn’t something I could live with. My stylist at Salon Dacota was Danielle and she was amazing. She not only fixed my doo, she gave me a whole new look. I love the way my hair looks now and plan to visit Daniel whenever I return to St. Louis. I wish she was closer to home, I’d be a client for life. Thanks Daniel!

I’ve enjoyed my hair cuts here in the past, thanks to Nicole. I have nothing but praise for her. My issue is that I splurged and got a hair straightening treatment done by another stylist in the salon. In all, it cost over $ 500 with the additional products purchased and tip. Imagine my surprise that my hair was frizzing and curling again within three days. I called the salon and discussed the problem to which I was told to expect a call back. This wasn’t the first time I’ve gotten my hair straightened so I expected better. I’ve never received a return call so I am a very unhappy customer.

Sometimes I wait a long time to get a cut so I can save up $$$$ and treat myself. And it had been awhile since I saved up for a good cut. While in town from Chicago visiting family in St. Louis, I decided to find a salon to tame my mangy locks. At Salon Dacota, I found the $$$$ range service at $$ prices, and I was super pleased. (Thanks, mom!)
First off, the very attractive and stylish woman at the front desk told me I could not schedule an appointment for the day, as they were booked and I was a walk in at 11am on a Friday morning. But wait! While I was waiting, there was cancelation with Terry, and I get an immediate appointment! And a very delicious cup of spicy herbal tea. It was meant to be.
Next I was treated to a special hand soak, gloves and an incredibly relaxing hair wash in a small room with night blue walls and Chinese lanterns. A relaxing look for a small space that I mentally made note to incorporate into my apartment.
My stylist, Terry, was gorgeous and proved to be an artist with hair. I am growing out my mine– and it grows very slowly– so I am always wanting the cut to be a good shaper with minimal length removed that will last me another 5 months. I am also a product snob but unfortunately have champagne taste with a cheap beer budget. But I like my products to be of superior, organic quality because these products are being absorbed into my scalp. Salon Dacota uses superior, high quality products– Eufora and Davines– which are out of my price range, but last fall I splurged on some Davines. These products last and my next spurlge will be on Eufora (or both, because I saved on my cut?)
I might just start getting my haircut every time I come back to The Lou on a family weekend. Thanks Terry, and Salon Dacota!

I was heading out to a wedding in Chicago and needed to get my eyebrows done stat. I have always noticed this Salon that was a few doors down from my tanning salon that I frequent and decided to run in and get them waxed.
This place is so cute and charming. I was introduced to Bobbi who was a really cool guy. He did an AMAZING job. He took his time and made sure that everything was even and perfect. I have had people that have had the wax too hot and ended up burning me or they would botch the job, but not here. The plus side is I was able to get right in without an appointment!
If you need waxing done, this is the place to go! I can not wait to go back!
