Mike’s Barber Shop

Definitely had my doubts when coming here but these young folks will take really good care of you. Very friendly, great price, and nothing but expert cuts. The young lady Cheryl nailed my cut down to the T! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nearly if not perfected it. She definitely deserves more than just a Saturday at that shop. Good looking out Cheryl!

I moved to Mike’s Barber Shop when my barber, Quinn, moved there in early 2015. This is a great shop with friendly barbers who share great stories. Quinn has been there each time I’ve needed a cut. Based on the work I’ve seen from the other guys I would not hesitate having them cut my hair if Quinn was not there.

Visiting in town from Arizona. I tried Mike’s after reading other good reviews and it was pretty close to the Drury in Chesterfield. One of the Mikes gave me a haircut. He did a great job. My wife liked my haircut and was impressed too which says a lot. It’s hard to find a good barber that listens to what you want and gives a good cut.

Came into town on leave, had a wedding to go to, so I went looking for the first Barber Shop in the area. Right down the street from my parents was Mike’s. Not a bad wait time, and it was about 30 – 40 minutes in the chair. A little over an hour all together for a fantastic haircut. I’m very particular about my hair, and being in the Military, the higher ups are always scrutinizing haircuts! My fade was perfect when Mike finished up and looked great when I was at the wedding in my dress blues. This is my go to Barber when I’m in town!

The first two times I came here, I received an average haircut. They were nothing to write home about, but when styled the right way, were acceptable. My third (and final) visit resulted in a joke of a haircut. I seriously thought I was on a hidden camera show. I guess that’s what I get for sitting in the only gal’s chair at a barbershop. Beware.

I don’t live here, but I visit often. I gave Mike’s a try a few months back and came away very satisfied both with the haircut and the experience. I returned today and left just as happy as the first time.
I like real barber shops — no unisex salons for me, thank you — and Mike’s definitely fits that bill. I’ve had haircuts from two different barbers (each named Mike), and both provided a quality cut and friendly conversation.
Good barbers can be hard to find these days, but Mike’s is a keeper.

I have to admit, I was more than a little skeptical when I walked in at 11:10, 10 minutes after they opened on a Thursday morning and saw the waiting room full of older gentleman with little hair. Most looked like they needed to hold on to what little hair they had left, not get it cut off!
Since the line was long, I put my number back on the hook, went next door to China in Bombay (
), ate a quick lunch, and came back to find my number still waiting for me and the line disappeared. In fact, one of the barbers, Glenn was reading the paper and waiting for me when I came back in.
Glen listened to the description of what I usually get and then proceeded to give me a great cut. He took his time, checked twice to make sure everything was straight and level before sending me out the door. The straight razor shave of the neck and sideburns is exactly what I was looking for. All in all, it was $ 14 well spent and I am looking forward to returning to this classic barber shop.

Having finally moved back here from school down south in Savannah, GA, I was thinking I wouldn’t find a good barber shop like the classic ones there.
But luckily there’s one right around the corner from where I live! How swell. And also it was a great experience. I didn’t deal with the wait like I’ve heard some people talk about (and even the guys in the shop were saying a few days prior had a line out the door) but I got seated quickly and got a fantastic haircut while talking all the while. Great stuff all around. No frills like the guy before me said. Just a solid haircut with men.
