My husband I I were married here in Sept 2014. From start to finish the staff was amazing at making our dream day a true life fairy tail. If you want your wedding to be exceptional have it at The Wheeler House!

Two of our best friends got married there. The place is just beautiful, classy and peaceful. It is the perfect Southern event space.

This venue was our first choice when my daughter became engaged. The wedding coordinator was gracious, knowledgeable and organized.(Unfortunately she is no longer with The Wheeler House.) We paid the full amount and even paid the ceremony fee in advance. Sadly, SEVEN months before the wedding date the engagement was broken and the wedding cancelled. We immediately notified the venue. While we expected to cover the administrative fees and commission, we have received no money back. The owner has never replied to my request. We continue to try to contact him and hope this can be resolved. Again this venue has such promise but professional courtesy and good will goes a long way in a business like this.

Before writing a negative review, I tried to take my concerns up with the owner of the Wheeler House, Lee Lusk and although he first responded to acknowledge my e-mail, he promised to investigate and get back to me. It’s been about 2 months with no response. Thus, I will finally post my review of this venue. I would strongly suggest brides to look at other venues. My wedding was in December and unfortunately for me, my wedding day happened on one of the coldest days in December. One of my worst fears came true despite having multiple conversations with Debbie and Karen at The Wheeler House to make sure the venue was warm and cozy. Overall, I was not happy with my experience on my wedding day and how the Wheeler House handled everything and the misleading costs associated with what I was presented in the beginning. I overpaid for this venue. I was incredibly cold, shaking during my ceremony and I had plenty of guests who had to leave early because of how cold it was in the barn. The heaters broke and they did not do anything to fix the problem. I would advise you to choose a venue that has been in the business longer, HONEST to you about cost and follow through with everything they told you would happen on your BIG day. At the end of the day, they did not seem to care, which is obvious by the owner never getting back to me about my concerns.

Clearly, one of the best decisions that I made regarding my daughter’s wedding was to have it at the Wheeler House! The space is like no other, a painstakingly restored, circa 1901 house with walk around porches, brick walkways, and an impressive wedding pavilion. They offer impressive outdoor lighting packages including chandeliers hung from the trees. It really is beautiful. There options for the wedding party to stay overnight and they offer other nice touches, including a pool room. We used the Wheeler House’s preferred vendors for catering and bar tending and found them to be excellent. The owner and staff of the Wheeler House provide a singular combination of professionalism and southern hospitality. At every meeting they were both warm and thorough. I remember watching the owner lighting sparklers for the bride and groom’s exit and thinking that at no other venue would I have gotten the impression that the owner was having as much fun as the guests. Having thrown a wedding at a venue where the staff was uncooperative and crabby(I am looking at you Trolley Barn) I can assure that it is well worth a few extra miles to deal with people who honestly want to make your event perfect.
