Ok. I don’t mind the place. Located right downtown, it’s easy to find. The food(at least for breakfast) was fairly good. I had blueberry pancakes and bacon — I’d order it again. The pancakes were huge and loaded with blueberries. The wait staff was friendly and seemed to work hard. The owner has made an attempt to «update» the décor. The only issue is that is sure seemed to take a long time to get my order — orders seem to come out of the kitchen one at a time. Tough to run a business/restaurant that way. But worth giving them a try. Enjoy!

I have a cabin in the Baldwin area, and the restaurant options are limited. This past weekend,(9÷21÷2014) my son and brother-in-law tried Village restaurant. The waitress was trying her best, but the owners clearly have no clue how to run a restaurant. Everyone in the place had been waiting a long time for their food. Food was coming out of the kitchen one plate at a time. We ordered and our first plate came out 50 minutes later. My plate came out 10 minutes later, and my son’s food came out 10 minutes after that. The food was average at best. The menu is extremely limited. They have been open long enough to have gotten the«rough edges» worked out. This is just a case of people not knowing how to run a restaurant. Very sad. Ton of opportunity in that location.

Wow, today, we were there in the little village of Baldwin, so we thought we would try this restaurant. Well one frustrated girl waiting tables, and a various other things, trying to hold down the fort. while a new«cook» was in the back trying to cook. We ordered a sandwich and a chicken salad. It was the most pathetic looking and tasting chicken salad that I have ever seen, I even took a picture of it. While we waited over 45 minutes for our food, another table with a lot of people had been there way before us, finally got their food. Please if you can’t cook, get out of the kitchen. The décor of the place was very nice and updated. She said she was going to take half off our meals for waiting so long, but she didn’t. :(

Eating here is like eating at Grandma’s house, or maybe an elderly aunt’s. The food is pretty good, but it just feels like a place that is determinedly dated –that is, everything is ancient and there’s no intention of sprucing anything up anytime soon. And it’s not that things are dirty, it’s just all aged vinyl and plastic everywhere, so it is a bit… dingy? Run down? Neither of those descriptors are quite right, but it’s not quite accurate to outright call the place«old» either –even though it is. The staff is friendly and will treat you well, though, and that’s great. Portions are pretty respectable, which is good considering the pricing seems a little bit high for a back country diner. There’s a salad bar, but I wouldn’t touch it –when I visited, I was one of two customers in the place and seemed to be so for most of the day, so turnover has to be pretty low. However, the items off the grill ought to be pretty good, my patty melt was excellent, as was the chili –and it’s rare that I give a restaurant’s chili the nod. All in all, Village Restaurant isn’t a bad place to make a pit stop while passing through Baldwin. Maybe you could do better, but you can definitely do worse. Give these folks your business.
