We ordered a custom metal railing for the stairs in our house. We showed Salem Fence pictures of railings we liked, and they did a phenomenal job creating exactly the railing we wanted. More importantly, they came up with several helpful suggestions to improve the appearance of the railing and how it would fit in our house. They also did a great job with installation, taking the time to make sure that everything was done properly. We’re really happy with their work.

When I write reviews I do so to actually help the companies do better– My hope is that a poor review will prompt the owners and managers to strive to do better. I wrote an honest review of Salem Fence. Rather than attempt to identify and fix the issues I raised, Salem Fence Company fabricated a story that my card was declined and again blamed me for their mistake.
Before writing this response to their comments I wanted to make sure that this wasn’t in fact the case– since I did give them my AMX card number over the phone. We have a special AMX card which can make very large purchases and it’s never been declined in the 12 years we have had it– so to be absolutely certain I called American Express to ask them if Salem Fence ever attempted to make a charge which was declined. Amx Customer Service confirmed that no charge was ever attempted by this company.
So friends, Please beware of dealing with this company. A company who refuses to accept responsibility for their own mistakes is not one you want to waste your time counting on. This is a real shame actually because I want local companies to do well. I want the local companies to be an integral part of the community. I shop local because I want to support the local economy. But not all local companies are worth it.
After Salem Fence forgot to process my order I found the product at a local gardening store at an extraordinary discount from Salem Fence’s prices.

Had these guys put a fence around my property as we had added a swimming pool. I ended up with 3 quotes and no-​one could beat their price. The work was fast and professional and we are very happy with the final product. Highly recommend.
