Slowest service known to man. Terrible. Wont be back. Idk how or who they hired to bartend.

Today i went with the family. Terrible service, waitress with an attitude didn’t smile or greeted us. Went at 4:15 pm got seated, and ordered the food. As expected it was absolutely busy. I expected my food roughly around 30 min and that’s giving enough time. Time kept passing the waitress only came twice to tell us she’d check what is taking so long for the food and didn’t get back to us. All the other people around us who came in after us got their food. At 5:43 pm i got up upset to speak to the owner almost 2 hours for my food and nothing didn’t get anything at all not even an apology! I cancelled my order. One guy told me 50% off, after all that waiting not even free.

This is my favorite spot to come and enjoy drinks and food. Every time I come to bring new people they have a bad experience with the service. Today around 6pm we waited to be seated and once we got seated our waitress Karen was very rude and had a puss face the whole time she took forever to take our drink order and we had to tell her we were ready for our food order. We had to ask for refills on our soda and she rolled her eyes when we asked. I love going there but I just don’t like the service from some of the girls.

Great place! Happy Hour daily from 4−7pm $ 2.25 margaritas and 99 cent draft beer! The food is great! My Husband and I shared oysters Via Mar and a large shrimp cocktail, both were excellent! I also ordered garlic shrimp and he had Carne asada tacos also good! The service was great too! We will make Via Mar a regular happy hour hang out!

Such a great place to have fresh seafood. Can’t believe the greatest happy hour special $.99 beers from 4 – 7 and the vibe is very upbeat and friendly. Karaōke so also such fun here! Truly an amazing time every time we go. Check out our food, it had a shrimp, ceviche and an oyster … What a great mixture of flavor.

We came here on a date night hungry and in the mood for a drink and we got just what we asked for. The food was great, and the drinks were even better. They have a happy hour daily till 7 pm. Their appetite sampler platter is great… Queso Fondido is yummy. We will definetly be coming back to Via Mar every now and again.

Service sucks balls. Food was decent.
My family and I went in last Friday roughly about 7pm.
It was premium rush hour, so we had a wait of about 20 minutes, not too bad for a party of 8.
We did have a handicap member of our group. We where on the back side of the restaurant, onw memeber of our group had to wheel our wheelchair member around to get to our seating. As I followed to get to our setting I realize why she had to taken around. Fire hazard everywhere! No safe walking distances. We all had to squeeze threw tight walkways to get to our seats in the front of the house.
We where seated. As stupid as this way sound, we received 1 tomato sauce and 2 bean dips for our party of 8 for our chips. We later noticed all the other tables had little «molcajetes» with all the sides.
Our server, if you can call her server, acted more as a bartender. She kept asking us about drinks about 3 times before asking for our food orders. Every time she asked for our drinks, she would put in orders for the surrounding table’s drinks too which added to more time when she would return our table
3^rd time she finally visited out seating, we asked to put in our orders. I requested a Fiesta plater? I requested «guacamole on the side,» seeing that the guac is in the middle of the plate on the menu images.
We waited out typical 10 – 15 mins for food. Food times where good. Food was good. I received guacamole on my plate. I removed it and distributed it to my party.
Now getting out additional items sucked. We asked the server for salsa verde. «We have to charge extra, we don’t have a house salsa» ok fine, but I want salsa!
We asked for
–salsa verde
–lemon
–2 extra spoons
–tortillas both corn and flour.
It was about 10 minutes since this. We wanted to eat our food warm. We called down another server. He was back in less than 5 minutes.
She came back about 10 minutes later. With guacamole in hand. «We didn’t ask for guacamole.» And my salsa verde, the other gentleman didn’t bring.
Later went received charged us for the guacamole we didn’t ask for. Paid and left.
Probably will be back since my picky family does enjoy the food. However, I sincerely hope we do not get that same server. I will make it a point to speak to management and not have her mediocre services.

Me gusta. Restrooms need improvement. Menu looks shabby but food is good. There’s a shrimp quesadilla and crunchy tacos for cheap

Food is ok but the waitresses suck at night will never go at night again will stick to going in the daytime

Idk if they changed cooks but they sure changed waitress. We were walked to our table only to see it dirty. We had to walk back and wait. Once sitted we waited 15 min to get our drink order and another 10 for our food. Orders aguachiles and fajitas mixteas the tortillas took forever to come out and she did not check up on us … Aguachiles were bland with no flavor didn’t eat them … Waited another 20mins for our Check! This was my to go place no it’s a ohh noo place (thumbs down) …

Delicious Carnita Wet Burrito! The carnitas were nicely crisp but not overly. Great atmosphere and super friendly waitresses. Definitely worth going.

Happy hour everyday 4pm-​7pm 2.25 $ for a strong tasty margarita!!! Love it here always a good time with good music. 1 $ beers, food isnt too bad either but i mostly come here for the amazing drink prices during happy hour:)

Going to make this review straight to the point:
PROS
–Must try their Shrimp Cocktail, very good.
–Cheap drinks during Happy Hour 5pm– 7pm
-$ 1 beers.
–Cheap margaritas and cocktails
–They have Hennessy
–Mariachi band in the outdoor seating area.
CONS
–Hole in the wall type place
–Place didn’t look clean
–Not welcoming when you first walk-​in

Pro:
The portion size is good enough for 2+ people.
The prices are decent and affordable.
They have a salad bar and fruit bar.
And they have a full bar.
Con:
The food was good but it was very very greasy.
If the food wasn’t so greasy, i would definitely go back.

2 stars because well at least our server was nice.
Maybe I’m just really picky when it comes to food but well my mom and dad can make better food than what was served. My dad ordered a shrimp dish & he was very disappointed. I ordered the sea, land, and air fajitas, very flavorless and didn’t have adequate seasoning. My mom ordered a salmon dish and she was very pleased. Additionally we ordered a shrimp cocktail & again we were disappointed.
In my dads own words «there is nothing worse than badly cooked shrimp.»
Will not be returning for another meal

Walked in tables were half dirty, forks not washed what so ever! Ughh ehh gross, my plate that i ordered is basically all fat of grease & the waiter didn’t even care to exchange the plate she said that’s how it comes. She’s white in her late 40s or 50s her name is Imelda. Never checked on us to see if we wanted to choose a different plate. DO NOT COME HERE! Apparently they can’t exchange your plate because its there policy

We love this place for great Mexican and fresh seafood. They have really tasty food and good prices. I love their asada tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp… Mmmmm if you love garlic you must try the garlic shrimp.
Didn’t really dig their shrimp cocktail today … too much of a shrimpy flavor for me or their choriqueso our last visit but other than that I have no complaints. .
I can’t wait to try their whole lobster! Service is usually iffy, waitresses tend to have a bit of a bad attitude but today our server was polite and attentive and anyway we’re here for the food. :)

This place is okay. Nothing special. The food is average and the waitresses are semi-​knowledgeable. However, they aren’t very good at translating their menu items into English nor explaining them to diners.
There is also the sly attempt to get a few extra cents from its patrons by «rounding». This practice should stop. It is not about the money, but about the attempt to deceive. Yes, I know it’s only a few cents and its done to either make it easier to make change or to bilk customers out of a few cents each. But when most everyone pays with a credit or debit card there is no legitimate reason for this. Then, there is also the practice of adding the tip to the bill before you agree to it. it is an attempt to make more money for the wait staff, but again, it rips its customers off.
I have only been here twice and it’s happened both times.
I will not be returning.

BEWARE!
Becareful when you pay for your meal here. They like to add there own tip without your consent. Look closely at your receipt down at the bottom under order total. I even left an extra $ 13 tip on the table because i didnt notice until i got home and took a look at the receipt. I felt robbed so i called and confronted them and they didnt even apologize instead the so called manager who said his name was Cesar said its my fault for not checking my receipt prior to leaving and hung up on me. I then made a complaint to the BBB and i am now waiting for a response. Ive always loved the food here but after this incident I will not be returning.
