The last time I visited a salon, was over two years ago after a hairstylist ruined my hair. I never went back to one and so I usually trimmed my own ends (which was rarely) but for the past few weeks I worked up the courage to find a new salon to go to. I called this salon yesterday and asked for andrea or martin, since I saw their work here on Unilocal/​instagram so I thought I’d give them a shot. I was told Andrea was busy and Martin was leaving at 11, so I arrived at about 10:30 and I was told Martin was already gone. I was disappointed for that. I just asked for the next available person since I was already there. I ended up with a girl named Susie. I asked her for long layers, and just a small trim. So she washed & cut my hair how I asked her to. I’m happy with it. She was a very nice hairstylist. I payed $ 28, but I had to use their ATM machine to withdraw cash since they are a cash only salon. $ 2 ATM fee. I think I’ll be back here.

I went to Olivia’s for the first time yesterday since I moved to Baldwin Park. One of the owners (Martin) is very personable and knowledgeable! He recommended that Susie cut and color my hair, it turned out just fabulously! She is very talented; this is my new hair salon forever!

This place is awesome. I brought my son here to get a haircut. Finally he got the cut he likes. I’m getting my roots touched up now. Prices are reasonable too!

I love this salon! I been coming to Martin for many many years now. I always walk out loving my hair, no complaints ever! I took a break recently 3 years now I’m back and his magic hands are still in full force! And his assistant Anyssa is the best! Not only do I come here to get beautified but also the GIGGLES! It’s always a great time here! I’m never going M.I.A. again!

Pretty pricey, I went in thinking my wash and cut was only going to be about 20 – 25 dollars. I was charged 38 dollars for just a wash and trim, no style. Other than that, I have no complaints. The service was good, and the salon was very nice.

I went back in December to get my haircut and let me tell you I’m in love with Olivia’s! I was a walk in, it was a Monday evening and they attended me so fast! Within 10 minutes I was already getting my haircut with Blanca. She was so thorough and would ask me what I wanted, how much to cut, and only cut that same amount unlike other hair stylists. She was really nice and professional, I’ll definitely be coming back to get my hair cut here! :)

My first visit to Olivia’s was about two years ago and my overall experience was well. My stylist was friendly but left me a not to par trim and blow-​dry. My second visit was the most uncomfortable and awkward ever. The stylist had me stand 90% of the time, as she trimmed my hair. I asked for my hair to be in layers, just as it was, but was left with horrifying results. It wasn’t until I got home when I realized how bad my hair was. Olivia’s is a huge disappointment. They definitely lost a customer.

Depressed…
I’ve been to Olivia’s a few times maybe 3. Once with Irma, Kathy and once with one of the guy’s, for trims, never anything major. So I decide to give it a shot. I do something major and my hair is destroyed. It’s breaking off. I payed $ 170.00 plus a tip for this. I spoke to Susana and she was gonna give me a break down as to what I payed for this disastrous hair. Of course she wasn’t there when she said she was going to be there. «NOPE» I was supposed to get a call back still waiting. I want my money back. But not gonna happen.

Had my hair done on Sunday May 31st. I had not been in this salon in over 7 years. It looks the same but I was greeted right away and Joanna did my hair. I got highlights, a cut and she blew dried my hair. She is very nice and I will go back.
Only thing is bring cash. They do have an ATM which will probably charge you $ 3 bucks!

I was very displeased with my experience overall. I had gone twice and each time was a «miscommunication» with them. The night before I called for a rough estimate and they told me 75 but after the whole fiasco they made me pay about twice as much. At the beginning I asked for balayage and showed a picture of exactly what I wanted, it looks like a few months ago I dyed my hair blonde and now it’s grown out (my roots are dark and my hair is orange so it looks trashy). My hair was cut horrible, when I go through it with the comb I can see all the hair they forgot to cut. No disrespect to the stylist but I would never recommend anybody here.

I don’t get my hair cut anywhere else. I’ve been a customer for 30+ years. Kathy has been cutting my hair for 10+ years. She’s the best. Great atmosphere, professional and economical! They just «raised» their prices for men’s haircut and wash to $ 13 from $ 10. I drive to BP from Marina del Rey every two weeks.

Martha is the best! shes the only one i trust with my hair!
I come here every 2 weeks and im always satisfied. For $ 10 i get a nice cut, hair washed, and my hair styled. Cant beat that price anywhere for the quality of the cut i get!
So why did i give it 4 stars? they dont take appointments. This sucks for me cause my haircut only takes about 10 – 15 minutes and sometimes there are females ahead of me that take an hour. Nevertheless, ill still be back cause martha always does a great job!!!
