I have visit Manny’s restaurant to pick up lunch. I haven’t been there in a long time and had a taste for some crab balls and shrimp. But when I got there the woman at the register said that lunch was over but they can still give me the lunch special but the sheriff of cook won’t cook a half a chicken for me. I said okay so let me see what else I can get but the woman said you can get the lunch special and I asked what was the lunch special insist and she said shrimp in the boat and I asked what was that she said fried shrimp and a side of fries. I told her can I place that order and then I came here for some crab balls she said the crab balls and a one side so I ordered that also. While I wait for my food I finish it with the owner which I think was the owner and the place was empty. Food that was in the display look great and delicious but it wasn’t cooked but the salad was. They was was overpriced. Woman called me and said that my food was done and I think her and I told the manager I will be back. The lunch special was $ 7.99 and they had about 5 lunch special that you can choose from. I was so bad when I got home and many’s is a distance from my home. And I bought lunch for me and laugh and as a man he can eat but it was just enough for like a child’s please check out the pictures I was so upset I couldn’t go back because I had song lyrics to go. The shrimp’s was small they gave you finger full of fries the crab balls look like they have shrunk and the coleslaw was just enough in the palm of your hand. Very upset about the lunch special and I will never ever return to Manny’s. They are known for their crab balls and crab cakes but no thank you. I can make my own or go to someone else then I can appreciate the price and the food. It’s a wonder they’re not out of business they should have more food on the platter. Then it wouldn’t be a problem but if you see the Showcase of food you would think you’re getting that but instead you’re getting a child portion and paying an adult price. I am so sorry I wasted my money and time and also wasted my gas and it was a hot day. Thinking I was going to go home and enjoy a good seafood platter you did better going to Red Lobster and getting the lunch special and not being upset with the price for the food but I gave many a try and was very upset. And don’t get me wrong I know prices go up but again look at the prices look at the amount of food and look at the suitcase and you tell me. Look at the big aluminum container and look at the amount of food very upset.

3.5 stars. Lunch specials and daily specials are always a good deal here. That $ 10-minimum for card payments is a real pain though because most meals usually round out to just short of $ 10. So either bring cash or prepare to shell out another $ 5 – 6 for a measly side(no pun intended). I’ve only ordered seafood, and they were all pretty good(crab cakes ftw). There’s always rotisserie chicken rolling behind the counter, but who’s trying to order chicken here? Manny’s has the look and feel of a seafood place; so seeing non-seafood items on the menu is kinda weird imo.

My first order from Manny’s was a chicken pot pie. I must say, it was probably the best pot pie I’ve had — more filling than crust, chunks of chicken and a delicious sauce, too boot! It was ordered and picked up by a close friend, so I can’t comment on ambience or service, but I definitely will order from there again!

Lovely little place for takeout or catering. Despite what the reviews below say, I have always found the servers to be delightful.

Burnt shrimp pretty much enough said. Also slow service and fairly mediocre food. I would not be coming back here.

The best part of Mannys is their crab cakes they are huge, fresh and all lump crab with almost no filler. Soooo good. This has good take out. It is no place to eat. It really is not configured as a restaurant. Service(if you can call it that) is mediocre. Go for the crab cakes. They are the best!

No question the food is great. The attitude if the owner and poor customer service on his part is a problem. Had a gift certificate that I used that still had a balance available. Went back a few weeks later. Was told there was no balance left on the card. Showed the owner the receipt with balance left printed from the restaurant. He wouldn’t even look at it. Beware of giving anyone a gift certificate from them.

Jumbo crab cake was delicious! Hush puppies and onion rings very good. We came for dinner on Sat eve and were alone, but it did not disappoint. Salmon cakes delicious too! The sautéed spinach was fabulous.

I had the shrimp basket. I managed to finish it all and still walk out of the building. These shrimps were huge; they must have used whips to get them so big. The staff was nice too. This is a neat area off the Mainline. It should be visited more often.

Manny’s has expanded to dinner! Where else can you get a platter with vegetables for less than $ 15 and BYOB? My mom and I had dinner there and really enjoyed the good food and friendly service. They even have real table linens. We’ve enjoyed Manny’s Thanksgiving dinner for the past three years at home(easy and delicious and no one has to cook) but now we’re going to be dining in, too. A great addition to the local dining scene!

I really struggle with how to rank this place since it’s not flashy by any stretch in the way of service, but the place itself gives a nice atmosphere and outside of the actual crab cakes I wasn’t impressed with the food. It feels more like a catering place than a restaurant, which isn’t a shocker when I think that’s probably what they’re focus is… I visited this place after a friend of mine went crazy for crab cakes and made us buy the Livingsocial deal. I ended up going twice with the friend. The crab balls were a little small but the regular crab cakes were just right. The sides were eh. The sweet potatoes weren’t very impressive. Neither were the hushpuppies. I had crab cakes and chicken tenders and the tenders weren’t anything to write home about but the crab cakes were fabulous. I’m not sure if I’d go back here myself but if someone asked for a place to buy good crab cakes, I’d probably send them to Manny’s.

easily the best lunch place in the lower merion area for 6 bucks you get a sandwich and either one or two sides I recommend the onion rings which are huge all of the fried stuff is good especially the seafood items and I dont like the hot pork or roast beef sandwiches they are too dry for my taste I love the fact that they have good french fries for just 2 bucks and you get alot of them

$ 6 lunch specials. I really shouldn’t tell anyone because it’s never crowded when I go and now it will be. They have at least 15 different choices, although I always get crab cakes, that come with one side and cole slaw. Seriously, $ 6 for 2 mini crab balls, fries and cole slaw? Can’t beat it. It’s filling also. The food is verrrrry good. Crab cakes have zero filler. I’ve also tried the tarragon chicken salad and the seafood salad. Seafood salad had waaay too much mayo but was easily remedied by wiping it off. Chicken salad could use a dash of salt, but I’d rather it be fixably bland then overly salty. It’s very clean, never overly packed and Alex(Alice? I don’t listen) at the counter is really nice but not in that fake Main Line way… in that real don’t give me any shit way. Lunch specials are Tues-Friday. It has me worried about what the hell I’m gonna eat for lunch this weekend and Monday. That.Good.

Bought Dinner there, expensive, average food. They shorted me on my order and when I called up they refused to make good on it. If you choose to buy there, check your order before leaving.

It’s a great seafood place with awesome huge oysters, flounder, and jumbo LUMP(read: from the rear not claw lol) crabcakes. I’m a big fan of seafood, and I personally think crabcakes should have designations of whether the meat is mostly from the rear or from the claw, as each has its own distinct texture. Anyways, Manny’s Place has awesome seafood and other non-seafood items in general. High quality seafood at a low price! Try: Crabcakes! You can’t go wrong. Their humongous onion rings are really awesome as well. I’ve tried a variety of things here, from oysters to shrimp to the fries and onion rings, and I can vouch that all the food is above average. This particular location is in a farmer’s market, so you can eat on little tables set up inside and outside. It’s a bit cramped and it’s not really a true restaurant.

In a neighborhood filled with mediocre and often overpriced options, Manny’s Place is the real deal for a filling meal. This tiny shop, discretely located in a shopping center off of Montgomery Drive, caters primarily to the can’t-cook crowd, as it offers a variety of full meal options but has only two tables crammed in the front of the store. I think it’s best suited as a suburban spot to get a hefty, freshly prepared crab cake or chicken finger sandwich. Their $ 5 lunch deal offers one of their many hand prepared sandwiches — but not the crab cake — and a side of your choice. The macaroni and cheese and crab bisque are also very good. If you work nearby, this is a true gem that people unwittingly drive by on a daily basis.
