A Confident Driving School

I failed in parking the first try. I made too many shifts (more than 6) to get the car in.
I’m scheduled to take my test again.
Here’s my review
PROS:
1.They did the booking of the test, picking me up at home, practicing for the test and dropping me back. This can save you time instead of planning the whole thing out.
2. The instructor was friendly.
CONS:
1. They charged me $ 238.50 which is expensive. I expected a decent car but I was disappointed.
2. Mark (I think the owner) said the instructor (Charles) would pick me up at 7:15 AM. The guy shows up at 6:15 AM at my door and calls me. I had to rush out.
3. The car was old & the gear would not get into reverse properly.
4. The instructor (Charles) spoke on the phone to various people while we were driving around.
5. The indicators did not click so I had to double check if the indicators were engaged.
6. The car was long which made it tougher to park. A smaller car would have been much better for the test.
7. I called back and asked if I could try again. They said they’d charge me the same amount ($ 208.50 was the lowest they would go).
My Opinion:
Maybe I’m bitter but for paying them that amount of money and all their talk about the instructor having over 20 years of experience, I felt they should have given me another opportunity if not free of cost, for a lower price. $ 208.50 is still very expensive for a second try.
I found a place (Safe Driving School) providing pick up, training (1 hour) & testing for $ 120 or $ 80 for training (30 min) & testing.
Fish around for a better deal and a better car. Good luck to all the test takers.

In a city with very few reputable driving companies– I’ve used 4 different ones. Confident driving school presents themselves as such a company. While they may actually have great instructors they lack in the customer service department and the expense of their service (way over priced!!!)
My instructor was Ken. He was polite and for the most part a very knowledgeable instructor. I took one lesson with him and booked my test date with him. If you do choose this school request him
I would not however recommend this school because of level of customer service I received from Mark who said to me that he was company’s president. He was very rude and belligerent to me when I explained to him that someone that I knew had negotiated a lower rate with them and that something that I was explicitly taught to do was incorrect and nearly made me fail my drivers exam. Thankfully the examiner decided not to fail me and explained this rule to my instructor. I paid them nearly $ 650.00(1 lesson and test date) and I would NOT use this school again or say it was worth the expense even though I passed my test.
Ps: I was also threatened by Mark that I would be sued if I gave my review of their school and it was not positive! Well it’s not but it is honestly my experience.

I would think twice about selecting this ‘school’ for your teen’s first foundation of driving fundamentals, especially if you have daughters.
It appears that Confident’s primary goal is for their students to pass the state exam. Our first teen got her license with their private lessons, our nephew, and then our 2^nd daughter had three.
It wasn’t until I learned of StreetSafe Driving Academy that I really understood how deficient Confident’s approach truly is.
We signed our 16 yr old for a private coaching with StreetSafe, it was scary how much more professional StreetSafe is, in every level.
We quickly switched. It wasn’t until then that our daughters and nephew shared that Ken (the instructor) would «high five» them while driving or inquire about personal issues was totally inappropriate.
