Another outstanding meal at another Jean-Georges restaurant. Located in the posh St Regis Bal Harbour, the restaurant is towards the back of the hotel overlooking the pool area. Comfortable booth and table seating. My party of four started off with 3 appetizers – all of which were excellent: black truffle pizza with fontina cheese and two seafood items that had excellent taste, the hamachi sashimi and spicy tuna tartare. Split the wagyu tomahawk(tip: I like my steak medium rare, but you should order this cut medium as was suggested by the waiter). For sides we chose the sautéed spinach and outstanding mashed potatoes. Washed the meal down with mixed drinks and a great Oregon Pinot. Total bill with tip came to $ 730(good thing I was on expense statement – though the rooms at the hotel start out at $ 1,129/night)…could come back here just for the apps and a drink at the bar. Very high quality.

my son and I decided to sit at the bar and order desserts and drinks. The bartender was attentive and knowledgeable and very friendly. The drinks were well prepared and served promptly. The desserts were outstanding. The portions of each dessert for large enough to share between two people and the price point was very reasonable. We ordered an ice cream sundae that came with three in big scoops of ice cream as well as all of the wonderful toppings that make a Sunday so special. It also came with an abundant amount of Carmel popcorn which was delicious. The other dessert was the chocolate molten cake which they serve warm with the melting chocolate flowing from the middle. It also came with a nice size portion of the no ice cream and it was just delicious. I will definitely go back.

wow this was unexpected we wanted to eat somewhere we had not been before but within walking distance oh and that maybe included pork or shellfish so the three million kosher places around us were out we found j&g on Unilocal the décor is your standard fancy hotel one so i was not too impressed with that there might be a view during the day looks like it is ocean side and at night you can see a pool if you are strategically sat which we were we had a truffle pizza and tuna tartare to share as appetizers oftentimes food items that claim to be truffled do not taste so this pizza did do the trick and it was plentyful as appetizers go the tartare was delicious as well i had the lobster and the husband and son both had the aged stripped or some such steak for dessert there was some pistachio thing and a chocolate cake i believe drinks were good too as was service everyone left happy only beef for me is that the gratuity was included which always bothers me we are excellent tippers and you always feel that if you add to it it looks as if you did not know and did not leave enough and if you dont the server is only getting 15 or 18 percent when you are willing to leave much more

Hands down the worst thanksgiving dinner I have ever had. Adding one star because the hostess gave us a booth like I requested. The menu was a prefixed tasting menu, which included an appetizer, soup, entrée and desert. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 full when we were seated. However the service was beyond slow and had to wait almost 30 – 40 min between each serving. I asked several times for the kids Mac and cheese to be brought up as soon as possible, as my kids were hungry and tired, however it still took 40 min. The quality and taste of the food was not as good as the normal menu either(which over the course of our stay at the st Regis hotel, we have dined at more than 6 or 7 times) and to top it off I had to hunt down the waitress, who had disappeared, to correct our $ 500 bill because she mistakenly added a mysterious $ 26 charge. overall very disappointed with the whole experience.

Went for Miami Spice. The view is nice facing the water and the service was good. It seemed the way they work is they give the customers their space yet are standing close by, if you need them just raise a hand, they will come from every corner! The menu was good. I ordered the salmon carpaccio for the appetizer and the pork for the entrée. Also at the table we ordered the truffle pizza. All were tasty but yes, a bit salty. They also give warm bread, yummy! Don’t know if I would recommend the truffle pizza or the salmon appetizer though, I could have done without either. The lobster bisque was tasty. The dessert was the best part. We had the key line pie and apples with cinnamon ice cream, both were delicious. They also have drinks on the Miami spice menu. I have to say, the drinks were tasty and strong. There is a $ 15 valet fee as well.

My number 50th review goes to this little guy! Disclaimer: this review is based on a Breakfast-ONLY experience. J&G Grill is located in the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, which that in itself screams quality. The experience from top down was truly remarkable in great part due to the exacting service and multiple [positive] interactions with the restaurant manager. I came in at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and was seated immediately. The host and manager made sure we got one of the best seats in the house [window seat with the spectacular beach and pool view] without us even requesting or asking for it. The staff had really unique European names and I’d have to guess that most were French. My guest opted for the breakfast buffet which consisted of a delectable spread of necessary breakfast goodies: pastries and dough goods, salmon|caper eggs benedict, french toast, crispy bacon and chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, antipasti bar, cold cuts bar, fresh fruits, overnight oats, yogurt, etc. etc. etc. Even the pickiest eater would’ve been pleased. The buffet also came with a mimosa|champagne bar which was unlimited(yes!) which should be a given for breakfast everywhere. Our server made sure my guest was happy and even offered to have the kitchen whip-up some fresh ‘any way you want them’ eggs. I chose the a la carte ordering and the server was kind enough to offer me unlimited mimosas also. For my meal, I got the Huevos Rancheros, which wasn’t over-the-top and nothing to proclaim of, but was filling and somewhat tasty. In general, I dropped a star for the restaurant primarily because a few of the buffet items seemed to have been sitting for too long(english muffin on the benedict was tough to cut through and the french toast was hard on the edges). This just shows that perhaps the food items were not being eaten as quickly as they should and thus, the staff weren’t turning the items often enough with fresh refills. Cheers

This place is hands down the best restaurant I’ve been to. The food and service is definitely top notch! We dine here every couple of months and never have been disappointed. I recommend caviar topped egg, it’s to die for! The tuna tartare and seared foie gras are also some of my favorites. They have a great selection of fish as well as delicious wine to pair it with. I’ve been to almost all of the higher end restaurant in the Dade county area and none of them compare to this place. Consistently amazing! Definitely recommended!

I’ve heard good things about J & G and even been to another one of Jean Georges’ restaurants, but to be honest I was expecting this to be 4 stars good, so giving the 5th star is saying something! First off, the St. Regis is absolutely beautiful and just walking through as you head to J&G will blow your mind! We even walked around the outside pool after dinner as this hotel is too spectacular not to take it all in. Upon arriving we were shown promptly to our table next to the windows with the seats positioned just right to watch the ocean view fall into darkness. Very romantic if you’re going for that kind of thing. We opted to come here to try the Miami Spice menu, which was beautifully displayed right next to their regular menu and highly encouraged for you to order off of. As Chef Kilgore has left J&G you may have some reservations about the food, but trust me, whoever has taken over is doing an amazing job and I was not disappointed at all in the food(more on that to come). Originally I was going to do a cocktail, and even noted that the Miami Spice menu listed three cocktails at a slightly discounted price which was nice, but in the end I went with the optional wine pairing for $ 35 which was a great deal! The sommelier was one of the best and you could tell how passionate he was about the wines. Each course was paired with a different wine depending on your selection, and since my dining partner is into sharing I was able to try his 3 wine selections as well :) The service here was delightful and we were well checked on and made sure everything was to our liking with every course. The first course came out quickly and then slowed down so we could enjoy our wine and not feel rushed. Ok, so food, the most important part — 1st course — sashimi and the soft shelled crab. Both were delicious, with the soft shelled crab being my favorite solely due to the sauce. *Bread — a variety of bread came out with the 1st course, served with salted butter and truffle butter. 2nd course — hangar steak and pork shoulder. The steak was good, and perfectly cooked, but really the pork shoulder was amazing. So much flavor, complimented with the mustard seed and parsnip! *We also added the black truffle cheese fritters. If anything, these were the biggest disappointment and I felt the cheese should be a slightly sharper variety. We ended up letting our salted butter from the bread melt on these which helped somewhat. 3rd course — panna cotta and salted yogurt. The panna cotta was light and tropical, but the salted yogurt had me wanting to lick the plate! In true Jean Georges fashion the check was brought out with a parting gift — strawberry macarones which were just right to finish the evening. Very happy I chose to finally do J&G for Miami Spice this year, it’s well worth it and was a great experience!

We went for Miami Spice. They didn’t have the soft crab appetizer but the fried lobster substitute was well worth it. The pan roasted yellowtail snapper was delicious. We ordered two sides items(truffle cheese as mashed potato) The best mashed potato hands down. Service was excellent! Definitely would do this again!

Came here looking forward to Miami Spice based on its amazing performance last year. I don’t know if they changed chef’s or if the line cooks had a bad day, but I was very disappointed in the food. The dessert was Amazing and seemed up to quality of Spice 2014. The service was amazing. Will also have to valet for $ 15 even if you get validation from hostess. Skip for Spice.

Beautiful ambiance right when you walk in to the St. Regis. We started off with the Buratta and Truffle pizza both of which were the highlight of the meal. My girlfriend ordered the wreck fish and I had the slow cooked salmon, both very good but a bit over priced and small. Most dishes come solo without sides. Service was exceptional.

Love this place! I have been here several times and it has always been great! The menu changes every 3 months. If you get a steak(and I would recommend getting) I would get the black pepper corn condiment. Delicious!

My first 5 star review since moving from S Ca! BF took me for my b’day. Oh my:) Great table with view of water, incredible wine list… Billecart Salon Champgne. Need I say more??? Grilled Octopus, Hamachi Sashimi, Grilled Lobster and truffle fries ! Now I can go to the chair! Service was impeccable, ambiance beautiful. Too top if off, we went outside to get a cab, and as it was late one of the doormen was going off duty and was afraid we would wait too long… He drove us to the Ritz !!! Is that incredible ??? Will def stay at the St Regis on next trip to S Fla!:)

Phenomenal. I thank God we did not venture out on our last night into the madness that is Miami. This is an oasis. Hamachi Sashimi is in the top 20 or whatever of things we have ever eaten. Dry aged strip was perfect, and the sundae is out of sight. Service, food, wine list, ambience are all on point.

While visiting Miami, my wife and I made a last minute decision to go to J&G grill. This was probably one of the best decisions we made the entire trip. The service from the second you walk in is phenomenal. Every person who works in the restaurant makes it their point to meet your every need. We got to the restaurant an hour before our reservation(which was probably not needed as they had several open tables) and sat in the bar for cocktails. They had a decent craft beer selection, a little pricey but that was to be expected. My wife had a ginger margarita which was good, not her favorite margarita but good flavor. I had the Parmesan chicken as my main course which had a delicious crispy cheese coating. I typically do not like sauces but the buttery sauce with the chicken was great. I also had the truffle cheese fritters, which were different than I expected with a soft almost foamy center. I think I would call them fried jalapeño cheese pillows if I were to name them. My wife had the special, a striped bass with promesco sauce. The sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish and she ate every last bite. She had the smashed potatoes which were incredibly garlicy and had a spiciness to them we were not expecting but were delicious all the same. For dessert we had the warm chocolate cake. This was the perfect end to a wonderful meal.

My favorite restaurant of all time. Not only is the food sophisticated, delicious, and interesting, the restaurant is incredibly romantic. This is the second year in a row I’ve gone to J&G for my birthday, and it was just as exquisite as I remembered. The flavors that the Chef Kilgore has created in these dishes take your pallet to other dimensions. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and all our dishes were perfectly executed, and mindblowingly delicious. For apps: I had the spiced rubbed robata quail & my BF had the ricotta and crab raviolo in a langoustine & carrot emulsion. Both were amazing. For dinner: I had the cider glazed short rib with yogurt grits, marrow & mushroom fricase, w/apple mostarda. Hands down, best short rib I’ve ever had. EVER. The contrast of the yogurt grits with the rich short rib, and then combined with the sweetness of the apple– wow. My BF had the local snapper with nut and seed crust, in a sweet & sour sauce. Also delicious! For all you carrot cake lovers out there, do not miss out on their carrot cake desert! Other than the cream cheese sorbet and candied carrots that it comes with, I can’t identify 90% of the foams and sauces and garnishments that came with the CC, but when all is said and done, the combination is an astonishingly done desert. I can’t say enough how much I love this place. This is truly a fine dining experience. From the moment you walk into the St Regis, the elegant ambiance envelopes you. This is a guaranteed hit for a special occasion dinner with a loved one. Bön Appetite!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars, because everything was just out of this world! From the moment you walk into the St Regis Hotel in Bal Harbour, you know you are in for a very special treat, but what we experienced was way beyond our wildest dreams. We began our evening in the St. Regis Bar and Wine Vault, with a glass of champagne and a risotto ball served with balsamic strawberries, it had a perfect taste and texture and we found it to be very enjoyable. The Wine Vault is a must see, so relaxing to enjoy a drink and a light bite with friends and it is decorated so elegantly. The entire area boasts incredible works of art, that one must really see and adds such an enjoyable visual enhancement to the experience. The actual wine vault itself is a work of art at well, with a very extensive collection. As we walked from the bar area to restaurant we were greeted with a very warm welcome from the GM Robert and we spoke about menu items we were excited to try and he recommended a few of his favorites as well. He showed us to very romantic table built for 2 that on a clear day you could see over the ocean and it set scene for what a very romantic anniversary dinner for us. Robert has assembled an incredible staff and each and every person who works there has such an incredible attention to detail. All of our food was prepared exactly how we ordered it, each course brought out at the exact perfect moment, each piece of silverware cleared and replaced as if it were done magically, our glasses of wine always topped off at the exact perfect moment. I have never had service so perfect before in my entire life. Robert made sure every little detail was perfect, he heard us mention we forgot out cigarettes in the car, and a few moments later 2 cigarettes were served to me on a very nice platter, he remember I mentioned it was our anniversary and we given a personalized dessert as wall as a card sign by the entire staff of J&G grill. The food here is incredible and the service can not be beat! I will not be surprised if this restaurant becomes the first 5 star restaurant in Miami as rated by Forbes Magazine. If you love food and want to spoil yourself with incredible cusiine and great service, then look no further, the J&G Grill is the place you want to be.

We brought my dad here for father’s day this year. The location is impressive. Walking through the lobby is like being in a super ritzy house of mirrors and then when you walk into J&G you’re greeted by a breathtaking view of their pool and the beach. We sat by the window and couldn’t help but take about a million pictures. I started with the lychee raspberry bellini which was sweet and refreshing. We ordered a side of the black truffle cheese fritters as an appetizer and we were dying over them. They were so delicious and if they were not $ 12 an order(for about 6 of them, I think), we would have made several more orders. It’s definitely one of the things on the menu that you must try. Among the four of us, we had the eggs benedict, omelette, french toast, and the fettuccine. The potatoes that were served with the egg dishes were awesome. I stole a bunch from their plates. My brother’s french toast was so delicious. It had a nice crispy crust on the outside and was fluffy in the middle. The accompanying syrup was perfection. My fettuccine was superb. Even though the portion was a bit small, the flavors were perfect. I will definitely get it again when I come back. Minus one star because the service was a bit slow and not as friendly as we would have hoped for a special occasion, but nothing that would keep me from returning. J&G was the perfect place to take my dad and I know we will return in the future.
