If you call for a hair appointment and are scheduled with Lisa Hernandez, here’s what you can expect:
1. A call from her an hour before your scheduled appointment asking you to come in an hour later. When you show up an hour later like she asked, she’s still 20 minutes late and offers no apologies. She won’t be slammed with clients as you would expect after being asked to come in later, but she’ll tell you she was running errands around town.
2. If you ask for rich brown color, you’ll go home with orange. When you text her to correct the color, she’ll tell you to come in, but will be rude and unapologetic for her bad work.
3. When you go in to correct the color, she’ll «tone» it with an ash color and then do something to make it red. Burgundy, actually. Again, she’ll continue to be rude and unapologetic. But you’re used to it at this point.
4. After you dry it at home, you’ll tell her that it’s not at all what you wanted and you’ll have to get it fixed elsewhere. You expect a refund for the terrible service. She’ll respond saying that you’re lucky she was nice and didn’t charge you for the color correction (remember, she originally screwed up your hair, and she had to correct her own mistake) and she would not refund you.
5. In between all that she’ll tell you it was your fault and in general lack even one ounce of customer service. You’ll leave there wondering how such a highly rated salon like Villa Bella would allow a «stylist» like this to represent their brand.

The receptionists are sweet! I go to Julia for my hair and she’s amazing. It makes me love that place!

The facial by Holly was so luxurious. Though the focus was on my face, I felt relaxed all over in mind, body & spirit.

I came here for Julie (nail girl upstairs)…sloppy nails. Bad attitude… Messy messy messy.

For my birthday I wanted to gift myself a manicure and I made my appointment a week before my birthday. I left work early using my PTO to make sure I made it to my appointment on time. I show up on my birthday and they said «I forgot to write down your appointment down and we gave away your appointment away and their is nothing available for you today.» Needless to say I wasn’t happy and I was forced to paint my own nails for dinner that night. That was one of the worst birthday experiences ever! I though maybe this was one bad experience so I made three spa pedicure appointments for myself and two for my friends yesterday. They called me an hour before my appointment and said they «can no longer keep my appointments and would have to reschedule two out of the three appointments». I mean come on you ruined my birthday then you ruin my friends last day they are staying in town. I made those appointments at those specific times for a reason and I can’t have one person go a appointment by themselves and two have to go later that night. I had to drive them to the airport so they could make their flights. I do not know what’s going on with who ever is keeping their books together, but I am no longer a customer here. The reason I make appointments at a salon is because I am taking the time out my day to ensure I will be seen at the time I scheduled and I want the «spa experience» and I don’t want to wait. I can’t keep using my PTO and leaving work early on to have my appointments cancelled and having to reschedule. However I would rather go to walk-​in salon and wait rather than have a salon cancel appointments on you!

Julia is the ultimate hair professional and she is always attending the latest shows, seminars and courses to improve her techniques and offer her clients options for hair treatments, styles, trends, etc. She has made my hair soooo healthy. There is no way I would go to anyone else. When I did one time, I totslly regreted it. If you are looking for someone who is professional, efficient, and will help you achieve the look and feel that you want, then go to Julia. but make sure you call at least two or three weeks ahead of time, because this pro is always booked and has maintained a high reputation amongst her clients. However, it’s well worth the wait… I gaurantee that you will never want anyone else to touch your hair. Atleast I dont!!! Never again. Julia is my hair savior :-)

I love this place! The atmosphere is friendly, and accommodating. They receptionists are very friendly and always ask if you’d like something to drink.
My personal hair stylist is Kathleen Alvarez, have been going to her for two years, and never disappointed. I love the quality, and care that she gives.
I have only been to the salon for my hair, but they offer a variety of services.

First time visit, brow and lip wax by Lindsey. She made the first visit a good one.

Lupe is the best has been doing my nails for a long time !!! Book early she is a busy women

Vicki Wolf does my Massages. She is the best. I have traveled to spa’s all over the world and always can’t wait to come home and have Vicki give me a massage. Her prices are reasonable also. $ 65 per hour. I have paid up to $ 250 per hour at resort spa’s and hers are better.

Cute salon/​spa in downtown Bakersfield. You can get everything done here. Try Holly for the best facial ever, and Gwen for hair color– but book early, these gals fill up fast.

Via Bella is a fabulous salon. Ive tried out many in Bakersfield and have left dissatisfied for one reason or another. Via Bella has all the best things about a good salon. First off the stylists are great and all seem passionate about what they do. I personally go to Cassie, who is AWESOME! Shes down with my changing color palette or crazy cuts and is a perfectionist which is great when your placing your hair in someone elses hands. When I look around the salon all the stylists working there are trendy and stylish which I think is important because often it reflects on how your work will be. The salon is also extremely clean and very cozy. You find that most often everyone is talking to everyone which makes it seem like more of a girls hangout then stuffy salon. I also get my nails done by Francisca who is amazing as well! I highly recommend Via Bella if you are seeking an updated salon with friendly girls who are all passionate about their work and in turn make you look and feel great! Oh and their prices arent through the roof which is an added bonus.

i also go to Via Bella and Cassie Germanotta is my stylist, I’ve been going there for almost two years now and I LOVE her! Not only does she do what you want but she works with you on what would actually look best on you. I’ve never left the salon unhappy in ANY way. I’ve also gone for a spa day, wonderful!

I’m a professional in the beauty industry, and I love going to Via Bella! Vicky is the best Masseuse in town, using reflexology and essential oils to loosen the tight muscles. I see her once a month. I also go to Via Bella to get my skincare needs taken care of by Stacy. After battling with my cystic acne for years, she has tamed my face, and I no longer am ashamed.
