Really prefer this location more than the rest that Bakersfield has to offer. Ill admit i have only been three times here but all three experiences have been great. Only downside is the wait, if you need to take care of something i suggest doing it with time to spare. I wouldn’t say the employees are slow but it just gets too full at one time and phone problems are never fast to take care of, only thing to get done the fastest anywhere would be just to pay a bill.

Here is the deal. The Verizon Network appears to be pretty good locally, better than the competition… and that is it. If you want good customer service and a decent level of support go to T-Mobile. I know, I know, but I had them for 10 years and the customer service and support was always good, their network just wasn’t there for us. Thus our switch to Verizon this past Januarary. I purchased the Casio G’z One 4GLTE. Phone looks cool, is functional, and both Verizon and casio… i.e. NEC claim many things that they will not support or back up or most importantly cover under warranty even though it is stated under the warranty. If you search for the phone you will get the home page with Verizon’s name all over it. You will also see that they claim that the phone is «Shock(Drop) resisitant at 1.5 meters… among other claims. I thought cool when I dropped $ 200 for the phone. Well, last Thursday I had the phone in my pocket, bent down, phone falls out, and lands flat faced causing a crack. So i call Verizon… you know the people i freely give over $ 200.00 per month for really not much of anything, and they give me the run around, and then give me to NEC(Casio), who also gives me the run around… and then they tell me I have two options… Oh wait, first they tell me that yes, it should be a warranty issue… and then they say… «Sir, you have two options. The first one you won’t like, you can go to a local repair store and have it repaired there, or NEC is currently getting ready for a program that we can place you on a list for our repair program and have the repair done that way… but, it may be months.» I say okay, at who’s cost, you know with me being well with in your claims. He says, «well your sir.» There is more to the story but what is the point. Just simply do not purchase the G’z One Phone.

Be very careful! One of the employees here sold my husband and I phones. We paid 155 dollars in taxes on the phones. I got my bill this week and apparently the guy who sold me the phones pocketed 130 dollars because he entered in the system we only paid 25 dollars. I’m outraged! I’m hoping I can find the receipt so I don’t have to double pay. KEEPYOURRECEIPT!!!

I thought I had better review this store seeing as how the only review listed gave them only one star. My husband and I have been using this location for a long time, well since we gave up the land line and switched totally to wireless. I was concerned about getting emergency calls regarding my elderly Mother and wanted everyone to be able to get to me even if I was out of town. Let me say that we do not text nor we do data. All we wanted was a phone to send and receive calls and take messages. The staff was very helpful and did not push us to get what we did not want. We ended up with a plan that we can live with that included free calls(minutes) for other Verizon wireless users and for ten friends and family. Believe me this is a big deal to us as my husband has a friend in Texas that he talks to daily and they use much more than the 1400 minutes a month allowed on our plan. We have never even come close to 1400 minutes a month when not counting the Texas friend. In fact we have resisted switching to anyone else as we haven’t been able to find one as good a deal as we have for under $ 100 a month for two lines and two phones. I even got a discount for being a Kern County employee, and now retiree. Also my husband is an amateur astronomer/astrophotographer and is often in mountain areas for at least one week out of the month. Verizon reception is excellent while other people have complained about their cell phone reception in these areas. Great people and great service. What more can I say.

Everyone said to go to this verizon instead of the one on Oak St because it’s way less crowded. They were absolutely right about that, but it’s probably not busy for a reason because the sales associates are pushy as HECK. I went to upgrade my smart phone, and the first thing the sales person does is try to get me to buy a TABLET. And it wasn’t just that I suggested it, I said no twice and they kept on pushing it on me; it took three firm no’s to get them to move on to the phone. I don’t know what put the idea in there heads that, in this economy, people who are coming in to the store wanting to buy a $ 100 phone would want a $ 550 piece of technology that is far from a necessity to begin with. After that I told the sales person I wanted an iphone, so she shows me the droids. I tell them those are great, but I still want an iphone, so what do they do? Continue to push the droids on me, telling me how many free apps I can get on there when«most of the iphone apps are paid»(false). After about 30 minutes of this we finally get around to the iphone, I pick out the one I want, then they try to push their cases on me because«the ones you get at the mall are so much more expensive!»(also false). Finally they’re ringing me up and they try to sell me all these useless accessories, like an ihome(already have one), a stylus(don’t want one), and an iphone car charger. I tried to explain to the sales person that I already had one of those but they wouldn’t take it off of my bill… and now it’s too late to return it since I left for a business trip the very next day. The sales people were friendly, I’ll give them that. And I get that it’s their job to sell, but this person didn’t take no for an answer and on top of that, she wasn’t knowledgeable about the products at all, which makes it even worse. But this was not a pleasant shopping experience. I’d rather wait an hour at the Oak St. verizon store.
