We stood around for about 5 minutes before we were sat down. The place looks really nice on the inside. Also have a full bar and TVs. We got a few rolls. I got the Red Bull specialty roll. Sounded really good but isn’t something to rave about. I had Sushi Moon the last time I was here and it is still the best sushi I had in town.

Very Disappointed and I didn’t even get to try their food. Would of been my first time. Walked in 39 mins before they closed(9:21 pm) and when I ask to place a to go order I was looked at like I was crazy and was told they were closed. I made a comment to the young man who I talked to and ask aren’t you guys open till 10:00 pm? And got a response back of, «yes but not tonight.» There were other customers at table. Very annoying.

We always go during happy hour because it makes things a little cheaper but lately they’ve been automatically adding an 18% tip to the bill, even though it was only two of us. I asked the waitress why they were charging me extra and she told me because they’re losing money during the happy hour so they’re automatically adding it to everyone’s bill. This makes no sense to me. If your promotional deal is causing you to lose money maybe you should stop doing it, or at least make it for an hour not three. At the end, my bill was about two dollars less than what it would’ve been I’d gone at a non happy hour time instead of the $ 15. Also ridiculous to have mandatory tips especially after the health department closed you down. Plus, the water always taste weird here.

This spot was reccommended by a local, and I’m glad they did! All of the food came out very quick, and the sushi was very fresh and flovorful. I will most def. choose this restaurant again if I’m in Bakersfield.

Service was prompt Happy hour is good, except that it excludes all special rolls. So it kinds defeats the purpose for me. Ended trying some of the happy hour rolls anyway, they were good but nothing spectacular. Also I do not like that fact that they use imitation crab instead of real crab

The staff is really friendly but the food is overpriced for the quality. The sushi is just okay and the other cooked food(Korean) is just okay as well. Expected more for the price but the atmosphere is nice,

Best Vegas roll in town! Our service was amazing and we got our dinner in 10 mins from ordering… We had 2 Vegas rolls, spicy California roll and beef fried rice… My wife wanted them to top the Vegas roll with some peppers and no questions asked they made it how she wanted it… I highly recommend this restaurant just make sure to get a reservation because it fills up quick! The place is looking dirty

I used to come here often and since I’m back in town, I came in. We ordered sushi bentos for lunch. I had eaten about half of my food when I saw a HAIR in my salad. I was so disgusted and I felt nauseous. I immediately told my server who came and took my food away and asked if I wanted it redone or if I wanted a discount. Since I lost my appetite, I chose the discount. When the check came, they only gave me $ 1.50 cents OFF. I didn’t even eat half the food, because there was a HAIR in it and they discounted me $ 1.50 after taking my food away. I asked my server again who then said they could give me $ 2.99OFF which is completely insane, because they should have either comped my bento box or given me half off. In addition, Toro charged us $ 6 dollars in gratuity automatically. THEYGAVEME $ 3DOLLARSBACKFOR A HAIRINMYFOODANDCHARGED $ 6FORGRATUITY. I can’t even believe that this restaurant is in business when they treat their customers as such. All of us received messed up checks and had to ask our server again to fix that. Now all three of us have been charged twice on our bank statements. If the second purchase doesn’t disappear within 48 hours, we will have no choice to come to the restaurant with our statements and talk to a manager. This kind of food and service is so dismal. To the staff: Please learn how to treat customers. To management: Please inform your staff how to deal with situations like this so customers want to come back instead of hate on your establishment. None of us will ever return to this awful excuse of a place to eat and enjoy a nice day off. The only reason we would ever go back is to get our money back that has been charged twice.

Manager was very unprofessional when me and my family came in. Had an altercation with one of their employees and the manager failed to get their employee under control. Our waitress was excellent however the bus girl(who I had the altercation with) was extremely unprofessional. Food was not that great either. I would highly recommend management to hire people who know how to act when working with the public.

Toro USED to be good… USED to be my favorite restaurant. But the last few times I came here… 1.) they don’t have some stuff that I want to order 2.) their service is lacking and disorganized 3.) they’ve been skimping on the wasabi, ginger, and fish. 4.) sushi wasn’t flavorful, no pizzazz. Just tasted like rice. I’ve order something from the menu that supposedly comes with miso soup and rice. I had to ask for it and I only got the rice, no soup. Also, I didn’t get plates or cutlery/napkins. The servers seem to be wandering aimlessly as if they don’t know what’s going on or what to do. Hmm are they short handed? No, there’s barely anyone here.

This place is horrible I’ve never not wanted to tip someone so bad. The service is terrible! We arrived and it was semi empty only six tables were filled 2 waitresses and the service was still slow. we sat down and our waitress didn’t bother approaching our table after 15 minutes of waiting she then bring us menus she asked what we wanted to drink it took her another 15 minutes to get us our drinks. Anyways we waited about 40 minutes to get our damn food it was not crowed what so ever! Why are they so fucking slow !!! The food sucked as much as the service. Fucking train your stupid staff they are slow asf!

I have eaten here twice and their food is «okay.» Nothing too fascinating, but my friends love it here so we decided to go a third time. After eating most of our calamari appetizer we found a dead cockroach at the bottom of the plate. Ew. We told our waitress and she seemed to just shrug it off and told us that she would take care of it. The guys wanted to look past it and the girls wanted to leave. Well, after a long debate we decided to stay and eat. We figure it happens, ya know. Wrong! Right before we put our order in to eat we seen another ALIVE cockroach running from table to table. Just hanging out and chillin near people’s feet as they were eating! It was disgusting. To make it worse the waitress didn’t seem to bothered by it, and didn’t really want to help us either. She ignored our table after we told her we were still debating whether we wanted to eat there or not. I guess having cockroaches isn’t a big deal, or at least that’s what the waitress made it seem like. Needless to say, I won’t be returning here ever again.

Made it for happy hour last week. Hadn’t been to Toro in almost a year. Had Toro edamame half price. Ordered the buy two rolls get one free deal and an extra roll. Crunchy Sexy is still my favorite here. Lobster Hills was good, too. Dragon and Tiger weren’t so great, in my opinion. Rolls seemed smaller… happy hour size? I don’t know. Service was good. We were seated in the back. It was nice, until a birthday party came in. Woman with«Flipper» laugh helped move us out a little faster. Lol! ***Smarmy manager guy helps the trashy girls, only. He walks by every other table without a look.

Alright for food, alright for atmosphere, but service needs wORKING ON!!!1 We got seaweed salad, vegetable tempura, 2 rolls(Sal-Lemon roll, and California roll), the bbq short ribs, and a tempura udon. It took a long time for our server to FINALLY come to our table and take our orders. I would understand if the place was packed, but this place was pretty empty and our hostess just left us at our table after initially miscounting the amount of placemats our party needed(really?) for about 20ish minutes. By the time we finally caught the attention of our sever, we just flat out ordered everything that we had discussed getting. OKAY! Onto the food: — Seaweed Salad: it may have been a standard serving, but it was served on a HUGE plate, so it looked SOFREAKINGSMALL! The taste was good, but it could have been served more wisely. — Vegetable Tempura: you can’t f– this up! The one thing I could eat again and again. — Sal-Lemon Roll: good, but the HUGE slices of lemon on the top does not really make sense. You want me to eat that sour lemon? The flavor goes well with the salmon, but I don’t want to eat that lemon piece on the top. My family just left all the lemons on the serving plate. — California Roll: standard flavor, nothing special — BBQ Short Ribs: good flavor, but I think the meat could have been a bit easier to rip off the bones. More tender in a sense! — Tempura Udon: Not delicious at all! The broth was a bit too much on the sweet side than on the savory side. Good thing there was that tempura on the side! Would I come back again? Maybe. There are better sushi places though ;P
