Salty’s has solid bbq I had the tri tip sandwich and my wife got the pulled pork. Both were very good. The slaw was excellent, but the potato salad could use some work. Their sauce is tasty, but I could have used some more spice. I would have appreciated a bit more choice than just the one sauce.

I did a pick up at 4 pm today and was delighted to find the food ready and the order correct. The young man at the register was courteous and the tri tip and chicken breast was the . Hat off to the cook and the staff!

Came here on a recommendation by my real estate agent. Got the ¼ pulled pork, beef rib, pork rib, roll and a side for $ 13.75 Was not blown away but it was good enough to come back. Pulled pork was great but felt the ribs did not have a lot of meat on them. At least mine did not, someone else’s had a lot of meat on it. I would come back again to try the tri tip sandwich. Spacious parking lot and good customer service!

Eff this place! Waited 15 minutes in line behind THREE people. When I got to the counter, the kid asks if I would wait while he took a phone order. Then, there’s no brisket. Ordered a simple dinner of chicken and ribs. After 15 minutes of waiting, mine was still 4 orders away. At 35 minutes in, I demanded my money back, and left.

Horriable experience here. Ordered my food for just me. Wasn’t to busy out in the patio area and it literally took 30min to get my tri tip sandwhich to go. I was heading to work and was not expecting to be here this long. So now leaving early to go get food in advance was a waist of time… now iam late to work.

Food is good. Had a combo meal with pork and beef ribs and the tri tip, with a side of chili beans and roll. I ordered an extra side of potato salad. Potato salad is good had alot of mustard. BBQ space is amazing. Wish they had more sides like mac and cheese, corn, and maybe baked beans. Price is average.

I have been to the Salty’s on Rosedale and enjoyed the food. This is my first time at this location and I definitely was not disappointed. The Garlic green beans are great, but my favorite is the Garlic bread. My husband enjoyed the brisket and chicken. There is limited indoor seating unlike their other location, but I enjoyed sitting on the patio which is nice and cozy with the patio heaters.

Tried Salty’s for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint! As newbies we ordered way too much food but that means leftovers! We ordered a full rack of ribs for our family of 5(3 little kids who don’t eat much), plus a bunch of rolls and a few small sides(chili beans, green beans, and coleslaw which were all good). The rolls are slathered in butter and garlic and toasted, so delicious! Loved the BBQ sauce. Online ordering was easy and they had the food ready on time, very nice staff! Will definitely order from Salty’s again.

We arrived around lunch time it was busy, and my first time trying this place I must say it was so good the service was great and tables were clean, one of my favorite things about this place was the oldies music they played I loves it. I had the tri tip and brisket with potato salad it was so good ! I will return prices are high but I think it was worth it. Good size portions ! Must try !

Went to the Salty’s on White Lane to get a togo order because calling in can sometimes can be difficult due to how busy and loud the place can get. Several times they have gotten our order wrong over the phone. Got two Salty’s Specials(Tri-tip, pulled pork and coleslaw) and a Tri-tip sandwich with a side of slaw. It was pretty good. The servers are always really nice.

Came here to eat because my husband saw this place on triple D … I was pretty hungry and I am not much of a meat eater, so I must say, I enjoyed my meal very much! We got there when it was 12:30pm.still pretty empty. Food was good from the first bite to the last. Only thing I didn’t care for which is unfortunate was the coleslaw. Normally that’s my fav part, but I just didn’t like theirs very much. The flavor of the chicken was so good, garlic bread was yummy, my husband got their chili beans, also good. I wanted to try their green beans but I was already paying for a side of rice pilaf.(The small sides are almost $ 3 each:/…) if your looking for a good meal, eat here. Just keep in mind. there were 3 of us. 3 meals and 2 drinks cost us $ 46.

I was treated to lunch today and this is the second time eating at this Salty’s location so I will speak to both visits. Today I ordered the Salty’s Special sandwich which is Tri-Tip, pulled pork, cole slaw and yellow jalapenos on a Pyrenees roll. It also came with a side so I chose Green Beans. The sandwich — It was an overstuffed sandwich which is majority meat and that is lovely. Over the time of chowing down the juices of the meat, Cole slaw and jalapenos did make the roll a little soggy and cause some breakage but it didn’t take away from the experience. My initial bite couldn’t grab everything in one bit so I took my plastic knife and compacted the sandwich so my next bite would enjoy all flavors combined. The tri-tip and pulled pork was tender, moist and delicious. I couldn’t really taste the essence of the Cole slaw because the jalapenos over-powered it. Slight heat from the jalapenos made the sandwich great but I think the next time I will order with those either removed or on the side. Even though the roll was a little soggy, it was soft and a really good roll. The Side — Green Beans: I enjoyed the green beans for the most part, after a while the garlic pieces which seems to be sauteed with the green beans became overwhelming as I ate them. Perfect crisp to the green bean and the saltiness was very good, just my palette couldn’t take the garlicky taste too much longer. I left about 20%, but I was also super stuffed from the sandwich. Previous experience — Prior to today I came a few months back and ordered of of the meat combos that consisted of ½ chicken and brisket with two sides. I chose chili beans and potato salad. The chicken was beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly so I was impressed. Majority of the places for BBQ I have eaten have chicken that seems to be slightly dry but not Salty’s! The brisket was quite nice, what you expect from brisket but it was not the best I’ve eaten. My chili beans were excellent and went well with the meat combo I chose, the potato salad at the time disappointed a little. The potatoes were just a little too hard for me, but that is my preference so I can’t really knock them. I rated the 4 stars simply because I would choose them over the other BBQ’s here in Bakersfield that I’ve tried to date but they are not the best I’ve tried over all. If you love meat &BBQ, Salty’s will not disappoint at all. If you are someone who loves chicken, you better come over here or to their Rosedale location because it is excellent.

Salty’s have some of the best BBQ food in town I was pleasantly surprised how great the food is here. I had the brisket and the sausage the sides were very good. staff was helpful price was reasonable .they cook the meat right outside the front door on a large grill. The owner was in the dining room asking folks how they liked their lunch. I love this place I will definitely come back in the future many times.

My husband and I shared the ½ pound pulled pork with chili beans and cole slaw for sides. It also came with a roll. We really enjoyed our meal. The pork was tender and juicy and the sides were delicious. We loved the rolls so much that we ordered two more! The rolls were toasted, buttery, and had fresh garlic. They were super delicious. Our son had the kids ¼ chicken plate with rice pilaf. It also came with a roll and he really enjoyed his meal. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I had to clean our own table, I had to replace our paper towel roll, and the music was way too loud. We started out sitting inside, but moved outside because the music wasn’t as loud… it was still pretty loud though. Also, I thought the food was waaaay over priced.

Fyi, I’m not a pro. I’m a normal guy who loves to eat. I started Unilocaling so I could help others find delicious places to eat. Salty’s BBQ. A Bakersfield favorite. I’ll start by saying that I am definitely a fan. I love the Rosedale location. This was my first time here at White Ln(just got out of the gym lol). I had the Salty’s special sandwich($ 11.50). As usual, it was delicious. The Tri-tip was cooked through perfectly enough to not be bleeding everywhere and it was still soft to chew. I love the coleslaw topping. Sweet and refreshing. The banana peppers are enough to satisfy anybody’s spicy craving. My favorite part; however, is the Pyrenees roll. It is amazing! I’m a bread lover, and these rolls are heaven on earth. They are lightly buttered, soft, lightly toasted, and fresh. They are so delicious that I would step out and say they are my favorite part of the sandwich. I know that may sound bad for the actual bbq part of it, but it’s my honest opinion. The chili beans were good. Nothing too special, in my opinion. I wonder if I would’ve been able to exchange the beans for a pork rib. They’re the same price($ 2.50), so I’ll try next time. The only disappointment I had was the pork rib I ordered on the side. Mine came out cold and flavorless. A little tough too. The side of bbq saved it, because it’s so flavorful! Luckily, the rib didn’t spoil my meal. Customer service is average so I won’t divulge much on that. The atmosphere is better than Rosedale’s. There’s an interior you can sit in and the exterior part has plenty of shade. This will be popular in the summer. I’ve seen a few reviews mention portion sizes. I do remember having this same meal at the Rosedale location and I would be stuffed. Today, not so much. Either my stomach got bigger, or they don’t serve as much. Regardless, it really wasn’t a big deal. The sandwich was definitely filling and my portion of meat was sufficient. I’m sure, the owner has read some of these reviews and has made adjustments as needed. I’ve spoken to him before and he seems genuine. Really cares about the customers and he is prideful in his product. I love that! One last thing, I think prices can be a bit better. I spent $ 15 on a meal for 1. For about $ 5 – 7 more I can go to Lucille’s, sit down, eat a bigger plate, get free dinner rolls, and have them serve me. Just an fyi, of the competition. Overall great job, Salty’s!

3 stars always seems like a wash for me when I give this score. Sadly, our visit here barely made 3 stars. We were anxious to try it as we always get excited when passing by seeing the BBQ smoke. And that wonderful smell! The owner was working the cash — no welcome upon entering. Cool cable car look though for indoor dining, although a tight spot. We opted to eat outside where we were happy to sit near a stand up heater on this chilly evening. Upon ordering we were interrupted while the owner answered the phone for a take out order… No alcohol served here, not even beer. Prices — mid to high range. The tip option was pointed out to me upon paying. hmm. I left one but from start to finish we really received no service. Add to that that the food took a very long time to come out. Our number was finally called and we went to pick up our own food. BBQ sauce was not given at all with our meal, we had to ask for some. ?? Really? You would think they would have a bottle or two out? The little bit that we did get in tiny cups, I quite liked. It was sweet, deep and served warm. Hubby paid for a soda — only water spit out from the diet coke spout. I love ribs — if you do too I would recommend the pork ones, not bad. I got a beef rib to try and although it was Flintstone huge, it was tough and I could not get any meat from it. Be prepped to get a bit messy too! Thankfully, the tables do have paper towels. You have to look for the wet naps but they are by the soda machine. ¼ chicken gets you a very small leg — but it was delicious. I would for sure make sure chicken was again part of my combo next time. The rice pilaf was served warm and I quite liked it! The chili beans were also served hot and were ok. I preferred my rice. Hubby felt ripped off and for the same price as mine($ 12.95) he did not get as much food. He got the brisket and pulled pork, both in small amounts. He said that my homemade pulled pork was way better and he was disappointed in the brisket(lack of seasoning). This says a lot as it does not take much to please him. I will say the Pyrenees buns with the butter and garlic on them were home-runs. Yum! I will remember those for some time! I liked the concept of this place but you can really see that costs are being cut everywhere and it does affect the customer especially those that want to have a dine-in experience.
