Alexandra did a wonderful job! I was a bit scared to get a haircut and color because I’ve never done it before but I showed her photos of what I was looking for and she got it right! :)
In the beginning she even asked if I was willing to donate my hair! I’m glad she asked because I forgot to ask her about that.
She was ver professional and super friendly! Thank you so much Alexandra! If I’m ever in the area, I’ll be looking for you again :)

I’ve been getting my hair done by Samantha Cardenas for a few years now and she always does a wonderful job. She has so much talent with color. I’ve had my hair so many different colors, from silvery platinum to copper to ashy brown and she always makes it look flawless.

I have never been treated with so much disrespect. I will never go back. I was told what I wanted was wrong. I asked her to please stop cutting my hair and she insulted the quality of my hair and then I was pushed towards the door literally. beware

Chose to go to Salon, Salon solely based on Unilocal reviews and appreciated the owner’s professional responses to the few lower reviews on here (Great reviews are awesome but for me it really says something about the character of the owner and the staff when they respond professionally and tactfully to less than stellar reviews. A common theme I saw in many other salon reviews around Bakersfield were catty and unprofessional responses to low reviews that made me not want to frequent those businesses).
Anyway, off of my high horse and back to Salon Salon. I did have two mishaps where my appointments got lost in the system but both times the staff was apologetic and professional. I ended up getting Sabrina as my awesome stylist and she cut my hair at my first appointment keeping in mind what I wanted. I went in again a few weeks later to get my hair colored looking for a very natural highlighted look and she gave me exactly what I wanted! I would definitely recommend Sabrina and Salon Salon! All of the girls are very friendly and look like they all do great work!

I love salon-​salon. The ladies there are all friendly and very professional. I’ve been coming here 6+ years and have watched the shop transition into a wonderful comfortable place to come.
I go to Erika there who does wonderful color. I’ve been there many times when she’s had to fix a client that went to another shop who didn’t know what they were doing.

I made an appointment for a trim and color, very satisfied!!! Samantha was my stylist and did an AMAZING job! She listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted and more ^_​^ to be honest she gave me the bet haircut and coloring I have had. I’ve never felt so beautiful after a hair cut! Everyone was really nice and welcoming! I would definitely recommend this salon!

Today was my first visit to Salon Salon. Everyone was super friendly. I met Lori and the owner Cassie (both awesome ladies). Lori washed, cut and styled my hair (she said she was obsessed with it lol). She listened to what I wanted and I was super happy with the finished product. Pricing was very reasonable. I will definitely be back.

I seemed to have the same problem as the reviewer Priya, here: a dye job gone wrong. A few months ago, I had gone in to Salon Salon to switch up my look pretty much for the first time. I was made to believe by a hairstylist, a sibling of the owner, that the look I wanted was attainable in one sitting. I wanted to go from brunette to a cool blonde. Needless to say, my hair stylist was mostly focusing on getting her own hair done during my appointment! And after 5 and a half hours, I had ashy gray, very damaged hair to show for it. I was told it would take another try after the fact, and was given a pricey bill (I was misinformed about the prices, earlier by the staff. There were add-​ons I wasn’t aware of.) I later called them to see if I could get my hair fixed, and was told emphatically by the owner that I looked good, they are the best in Bakersfield, and I would be charged another hefty bill to get the look I wanted. I felt a tad disillusioned and was forced to live with this Mother Hubbard look until I could get it to a reasonable color on my own. I was pretty distraught and effected by this event for a while, and I recently decided I should air my grievances; I am not my hair, but being treated with respect does matter to me. I hope the hairstylist walked away from the experience more in touch with her limitations as a beautician.

Been seeing Samantha Cardenas for a few years. Love her work! Would not go to anyone else. The salon is very clean and inviting. Staff is always friendly. Will be going back!

Sabrina did a wonderful job cutting and styling my hair. My mom also loved the coloring and styling Sabrina did with her hair.

A very excellent place to have your hair done. The staff only uses Paul Mitchell and continue their education with the new styles. The staff is very friendly

I went in for a trim with Erika. I was lucky enough to get an appointment on the same day, and even more lucky that it was with her! Super friendly gal, and definitely delivered an amazing experience. My layers had grown out and my tips were very dry. But she brought my hair back to life and added some volume. I’m very pleased and will be returning.

Erika gave me an incredible makeover. My hair was over processed, lifeless and at an awkward stage and she brought it back to life by returning me to a natural start, red highlights, short stacked A line and a deep conditioning. I’m beyond ecstatic with it. High recommend Erika for cuts & color!

The whole Salon is amazing. Great atmosphere and they truly care about their clients. I recommend this salon highly.

I went in for balayage by Alex. I was recommended to salon salon by a friend who had previously gone in for the same thing. However I assumed that I was booking with the same colorist but I was mistaken. Alex was pleasant attentive and made me feel like she was listening to me however her skills were lacking in the balayage department. Instead of painting on highlights she literally slapped the bleach on to thick strands of hair. Making me look like I got highlights that were poorly placed; they did not complement my face and most importantly the color was brassy. I understand that I have very dark hair and it would’ve taken several treatments to turn it to a beige — however I know that now. I was never informed at the time that it would not have been attainable without several attempts. Instead she understood what I wanted and made me feel like I could attain that result with in one sitting. I don’t dye my hair often and am often very impressionable and not to mention vulnerable. I take responsibility on not having done my research on the coloring process, but I thought I was going to a professional. I had trusted Alex’s abilities to do this Balayage and unfortunately I was let down. However the salon is clean and the staff is friendly, prices are beyond reasonable. For that botched job I walked out the door paying 80 bucks however I would’ve rather spent the 300 I ended up paying and had it done right the first time.

I decided to try Salon Salon just based on the photographs on their Unilocal page, and I’m absolutely ecstatic that I did. Erika dedicated a total of three hours to my cut and color, and the effects were gorgeous. I wanted what I would describe as ombré highlights and I had a picture of the effect I desired. Erika suggested an appropriate color and applied it in such a natural way, that the ombré effect is gradual. So, you do NOT get a chunk of lighter color at the tips that does not blend in at all with the color up top. She said quite aptly: «I want to make your hair look sun-​kissed, and not just apply a chunk of color.» With that much care and thought put into my hair, I was very happy with the results. Erika even saved my «formula,» so she knows who to alter my color on my next visit. She also added lovely layers to lighten up the weight of my hair, and then gave me some styling tips at the end.
Despite not having as many reviews as other salons, Salon Salon delivers impeccable service and certainly deserves more accolades than other salons that I have frequented. I strongly recommend Salon Salon for anyone looking for excellence hair service.

I had traumatic experience way back when I was younger and never stepped in a salon for many many years. Lori made my visit a pleasant one. She was funny and always asked me what I wanted –which I find very sacred and important to me and I trusted her. The chemistry with the coworkers were positive with each other and they are educated with what they do.
One stylist should be a psychiatrist because of her client telling her problems –they should charge extra for that emotional comfort. Lol
They are good with kids and they prefer calling in for appointments and I believe they do a keratin treatment for 30 mins for $ 30. I will be back again!

Love this salon, the girls here are always so sweet, and you can really tell they work well together for the sake of great service to their clients.
I’ve been coming to see Alex for years, and am always so happy with the results! She always manages to take my broad, sometimes confusing suggestions on what color I want my hair, and turns it into what I want (even better than what I could have imagined myself). Her knowledge of hair, trends and color are what makes it so easy for her to basically read my mind when it comes to what it is I want! I’ve been blonde, black, auburn and red and she always manages to transition my hair and make it look natural!
Go see Alex! You can thank me later!
