Roundup the Feed & Pet Supply

This was our first time visiting this shop. Pretty cool! Came to purchase Taste of the Wild for our pet dogs. Decent sale prices and all around decent prices for all other item. Workers were super pleasant. Feels like Floyds back in the early 90’s when they had all the nursery and feed back in the days… Rounded up all my shopping here at Roundup!

I went into Round Up this morning after dropping off my kitties at the vet to find some paper litter that they’ll need after their surgery. I had no idea what I was looking for, as we have always used clay litter. The staff was helpful when I asked where I could find paper litter. Prices seem a little higher than Petco, but I would support local for a few bucks more, any day.
I’ll be back.

It’s truly sad to see customer service held to such a low standard. I recently bought tack from this place of business knowing that if I was dissatisfied I could exchange or receive in store credit. Yet that was not the case. I felt it to be important for all potential customers to know that if you have an issue with a product you buy from this place of business there is no exchanging or store credit. This store has lost a customer and the revenue they would have generated from my loyalty for good customer service. Save yourself the time and headache and order anything you want off of
. You can find everything you’re looking for about 20 to 30 percent cheaper and you will never be questioned when you are dissatisfied or need to exchange a product. I truly hope the owner Round Up Feed reads this comment and trains their employees to understand the bigger picture of customer service and how they stepped over $ 1 to pick up a nickel in the long run. Especially now with social media bad news travels a lot faster than good news.

Thanks to this place my growing puppy now has a larger kennel/​crate sooner than later!
I found the service to be very friendly here, quite attentive. They were quick to help us bring the kennels down from the high shelving so that we could take a look at them to compare and there was no pressure to buy whatsoever.
I also found a new stuffie for the pooch and I perused the bone section for dogs. Some pricing better than others.
One loosely packed dry bone had a few worms crawling all over it — not sure if that is normal or not, ick. I passed on those… but did buy the kennel and some other treats.
Staff even helped us put the dog crate in our SUV… it was then I heard a rooster crow! If you live in a rural area, you can get a rooster for your pad here for only $ 5!!! There are hens outside as well that will run you $ 25.
The shopping space inside was quite large and they seem to have a decent selection of animal food and toys.
Very happy with today’s purchases as well as the customer service and will return.

I just love the staff at Roundup. Always helpful and very knowledgeable. You can count on the right information. At the same time, they’re not pushy, they’ll give you the options and that’s it, its up to you to figure out what you want. Exactly the way it should be.

In and out in 5 minutes. They were helpful, friendly and put the feed in my car for me.

I always like to support local business, but in this case I can not recommend Roundup. Here is where my story begins… My wife bought me a gift here for my birthday (portable Traeger Grill). It wasn’t what I wanted so we decided to take it back. The box was unopened, we had the receipt, we paid cash, and she had only purchased it for me less than 30 days prior to the return. I thought this was going to be a pretty simple return. However, that was not the case. Because the purchase was over $ 100.00, they called the owner for his approval. The owner then informed us that he could only give us store credit or charge us a 25% re-​stocking fee (on an un-​opened item!). I asked him where this policy was posted and he told me, «It is up to the owner’s discretion.» I told him that I did not have a ranch and that almost $ 400.00 of credit would basically be useless to me. Had it been the simple return we anticipated, we might have come back to get the grill I wanted from them anyway (after taking the time to research grills.) After I left the store, I called the owner to see if he would have a change of heart. I was told by an employee that he was «unavailable» and that he would return my call. It is a week later and he has yet to return my call. Needless to say it was a very upsetting experience, my wife was in tears, and yet the owner had no regard for our feelings in the matter. In these days of online ordering, the only thing that separates internet stores from brick and mortar stores is customer service, and in this case Round-​Up failed. If it was possible to give no stars, I would. Unfortunately, I am required to give 1 star to post.

I really want to support the independent businesses in Bakersfield, but I am over the disdainful lack of customer service. I unfortunately will stick with Tractor Supply for my horse and chicken feed needs.

Good selection of pet supplies. Prices are usual. Fun to see the «other» animal supplies with stuff for more than cats & dogs here. Young, very handsome staff to help you find what you need and load it in the car! I’ll be back.

I frequent this place for high quality dog food, however in the springtime I LOVE to go there and see all the little baby chickens! They really do have a good variety of supplies for livestock as well as pets. We love to get «Taste of the Wild» dog food which is grain free. We typically get the «High Prairie» formula because the first ingredient is Bison. I haven’t seen this dog food anywhere else.
