After getting my hair done in LA for several years, I had very high expectations when finding a hairdresser in my hometown of Bakersfield. Thankfully, I quickly found Hope, and she is amazing! She fixed my over processed, damaged, mess of hair and took me from a black box dye to a gorgeous brown/​blonde ombré. It took two sessions because my hair was a complete mess, and Hope made sure to get me the color I wanted without damaging it at all! My hair is much healthier than when I first came in, and I have ombré/​balayage now. It looks gorgeous, Hope is a great listener and detail oriented. I highly recommend her.

I had great personalized service from Aimee re a pedi. She is efficient but takes her time and makes you feel #1! Higher priced than the other non-​spa places but you get what you pay for! Loved the foot mask and hot towel pedi treatment!
I wish the pedi chairs had massage but I cannot remove a star for this as the nail room is just not designed for that.
I got a tour of the spaces to see all the services offered and the place is as clean as a whistle. The cleanliness happens to be most important to me.

My wedding is quickly approaching; after many positive things I’ve heard about the place and the reviews on Unilocal I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately my experience turned out to be a total fail. I did not leave a happy customer and was told to wait two weeks and 10 washes later. As a customer I felt that the service should have been done right the first time and should not have to wait time for someone’s work to show. I rescheduled to have my hair «fixed» as I requested platinum blondes and left a brunette. I decided to cancel my appointment as I did not feel comfortable going back. First impressions can make or break you and sadly this was break for me.

This is a true salon experience in Bakersfield finally… Great service from staff to environment. More importantly Keesha is great, a true hair expert from color to style to just plain honest and real. This is the only hairdresser I will ever use ! I was in real need of a style and cut so I found this gem on Unilocal and oh my goodness, this place is amazing! After having some bad experiences at other salons both in Bakersfield and Delano I was determined to find the right place and I did! The cut I asked for was perfect and she (I’m sorry I don’t remember the stylists name) actually found some uneven cuts with my previous style and fixed it for me. The atmosphere is very classy and chic and they didn’t mind when I had to bring my 3 month old along with me, which was appreciated. Overall great place, great employees, great service. Will definitely be having this place as my go-​to place!

Since my first review I thought I’d update a new review to write about how they’ve done since opening. Well it’s been a great success I think as a client. Every time I come for my appointment I’m greeted with a friendly face, always offered something to drink and it is comfortable temperature inside. You know how HOT it is in Bakersfield, but it is always cool in here! Big plus! And I never have to wait past my appointment time as I said they run a really tight ship here, keeping all the appointments on time. Nothing worse than having to wait.
They remodeled their color room to make it more roomy which was a nice touch.
I really like the fact that when you book your appointment that you get a text giving you the details of you appointment and then the day before you get a confirmation for your appointment. Nice! Because it helps me remember!

I absolutely adore this salon! I’ve had my hair cut here once, but primarily use them for nails, facials, and waxing.
I have had gel manicures from both manicurists and been very pleased both times. Both women are friendly and quick, so I’m in and out without much waiting. Amy did the gels for my wedding and they looked beautiful.
I’ve had a couple facials from Brooke and been very happy both times. She is incredibly friendly and takes her time. The pumpkin facial cleanser is worth the entire facial price alone. I love that stuff. :)
This salon has always been great at scheduling appointments, and has been able to accommodate last minute changes when I’ve needed them. The staff is always very friendly, the facility clean, and the atmosphere relaxed. I love that they’re upscale without being snobby. I’ve given multiple friends gift cards and they’ve all walked away just as happy. I’ve recommended them to many of my friends, and look forward to taking advantage of even more services in the future.

My first impression of this salon is that it has a very classy, sleek, and immaculate presentation — which is very pleasing to the senses if you set out to treat yourself. I’ve only used this place twice, and only for haircuts each time, but I did enjoy my experience here. Tip — if you do select a stylist, be sure to ask if she is a junior stylist, a master stylist, and so on b/​c the price for a basic cut (and any other service) is different depending on the expertise of your stylist. Privato has a website that prices everything for you, and the site also designates the level of stylist you are selecting.
My first time here, I had a junior stylist, and my cut was $ 35. I didn’t think the cut was anything special. However, I must admit that it was my fault, b/​c what I asked for was more of a trim than anything else. The second time, I asked for a more robustly different cut than what I had from a master stylist, and I was very satisfied with the results. She gave my short layers lots of sexy texture, which I loved, and it costed $ 50. I thought it was worth the value of the cut.
What I thought was cute was that all the stylists have matching smocks — like Privato’s own adorable uniforms. They were also very obliging and sweet, so you feel like you can talk to them. After your service, they also call you to ask for feedback, so that’s always nice. I loved my experience here, and I brought a friend back as well. I’m hoping try to try their other services as well.

I have had two appointments with Brooke for European facials and they leave my skin and me feeling so great and relaxed! Brooke is nice and helpful and good at what she does! The treatment room is decorated cute (along with the rest of the salon) and the background music is relaxing! I already scheduled my next visit with Brooke! My acne prone skin is getting better and better thanks to her! I definitely recommend her services!

Wonderful people and great salon! Lisa and her stylists repaired my ombré and didn’t finish until they were satisfied with how it looked! Couldn’t be more happy with my experience there, looking forward to more appointments to come! Definitely would recommend!

The front staff is helpful, friendly and they answer their phones immediately. I followed Gracie since she moved to Privato last year. I just like going to Gracie for my haircuts. But really this place is very nice and closer to where I live.

I have curly hair (3a/​b) and I have struggled to find a stylist that I like in Bakersfield. Lisa was fantastic! I came in with my hair styled as usual and talked her through what I wanted for the cut and how I didn’t want my hair straightened to be cut either. (I just don’t get that… Never had a stylist be adamant about straightening my hair just to cut it until I moved here. Heat is the devil when it comes to my curls!) She just smiled and said ok.
Lisa was awesome, she did exactly what I asked! She didn’t style it like I do, but how often do you go to the stylist and experience that? I like my curls defined and she pulled them out a bit. But whatever.
After a wonderful massage from Maribel I went home and washed and styled my hair and was overjoyed! It’s exactly what I asked for and I’ll be going back.

The salon is beautiful, clean and very friendly but my biggest praise is for the wonderful owner, Lisa. She takes great care of me and my precious hair every time I come in. She won’t brag about her own skills so I’ll do it for her. I am PICKY. Like, pain in the rear picky! I know what great hair looks like and I am not ok with settling and with Lisa I don’t have to. She knows her stuff! I consistently have great blonde hair with no bands, bleeding or funky tint. I’ve gone to others that have occasionally got it right but it seemed like just a fluke. Lisa also cuts my EXTREMELY thick hair just how I want it! I’m not a great writer (I have pretty hair, I don’t have to be smart) so I’ll just sum this up for you. Call Lisa if you want great hair EVERY SINGLE TIME. XO

I followed my hairdresser, Gracie, to this salon a few months ago. I am always greeted nicely and offered a drink. The salon was nicely redone (it used to be House of Colors salon). It’s very organized and neat. All of their products are nicely displayed on one wall and there isn’t clutter everywhere.
The chairs at the stations and shampooing area are very comfortable. I love that they do everything «electronically.» I get confirmation emails/​texts the day before my appointment and my stylist now «checks me out» on an iPad and Square immediately after service and my receipt is sent to me via text or email. No more going to the front and possibly waiting to pay because the receptionist is greeting other clients or on the phone. Genius on the owner’s part!

I’m bias. My good friend and hairdresser Kim moved to this wonderful salon and I am super happy. It’s clean, welcoming and the staff is happy. I snuck a peek into the massage therapy rooms and I definitely need to reserve a spot! Lots of parking and a cute coffee place around the corner to grab a treat after you treat yourself!
