This is our go to spot in Bakersfield! Only place that is always having a party in town. We love it here! We come down at least once a month!

My girlfriend and I came to The Padre for a drink after dinner last night. It was loud when we walked in. Like really loud. A bunch of young people hanging around the bar, leaning into me and my girlfriend. One girl walked up to me and asked me if the old water glass sitting at the bar(that was there when u arrived) was mine. I said no. She was belligerent. She said«Now it’s mine!» THAT’s the crowd you will encounter here unfortunately. I ordered a whiskey and girlfriend ordered wine. We sat and just people watched in the loudest bar I’ve ever stepped foot in. Couldn’t speak with each other without shouting. The drinks were extremely over priced, as expected, with so-so service, in the loudest bar you can find. Too many places in the downtown area I would like to try out before I even think of coming back to this bar.

Love the Padre but the Prairie Fire plays terrible old music and they refused to change it even though multiple people complained!

We decided to do a pre-Fluffy show and watch Carolina kill the Cards evening with friends. The bar area was packed as a lot of people I think had the same idea. Our waitress was spot on and new of every beer they had in the house, unlike the last time where we had to go up to the bar and take a peak ourselves. I ordered the crunch burger without the crunch cooked on the medium side. They say they cook their burger medium to medium-rare. I have just s little problem with under cooked hamburger. The burger was absolutely delicious!!! Cooked just as i ordered it and super juicy. The fires were nice hot and crunchy. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meal. We will diffidently be back to try more of the men options.

Very cool place to stay! Room was great, bed was über comfortable & the bathroom was grand. $ 10 to valet and they will bring you your car as many times as you need during your stay. We had dinner with friends on the rooftop restaurant, Prairie Fire(located on the 2nd floor). There is also a large bar on the 1st floor along with coffee shop. If ever in Bako, we will stay here again! Cool vibe throughout the entire hotel and bars!

We were driving cross-country and at 4:00 a.m. we realized we were too tired to keep driving. The Padre was super accommodating and even let us have a late check-out. Also, it was cat-friendly($ 50 pet deposit) and the room was clean.

Ate here the other day at a banquet and had a server named Autum. She was absolutely wonderful! I will be eating at Padre again soon and will bring my clients. The staff who served us was so polite and had great communication, definitely a nice plus!

… Extremely disappointed … The security that works there stole my phone… I got vip there with friends … I found my phone with a burglar app I had installed, the app allowed me to see the pictures of the thief which turned out to be the security guard working that night, the mangers were not really apologetic about it at all… I went the next day to ask for the security to return my phone… We’re adults here enjoying time. We felt safe coming to this location for a great night(the padre is know for its high end standards in Bakersfield)… There reputation is definitely ruined with their staff and how they treated us.

I’m writing this review for the restaurant/bar in the Padre Hotel I enjoy the space, decorations, and energy. I’m thinking of staying in Padre Hotel next time I have business in Bakersfield. If the rooms are designed similar to the lobby and restaurant I’ll think I’ll enjoy it. I had a hamburger with french fries that was quite satisfactory. Hit the spot. Decent beer selection.

My husband brought me here for my birthday and I had the best time. It was a Monday, so not crowded at all, just how I like it! We had a drink each at the bar area and it was nice, our server was friendly and helpful. We had reservations in the dinning area and it was beautiful in there. I loved the décor and the ambiance. Service was five stars and our meal was the best part. It’s expensive, but definitely worth every penny! Their sprouts are still on my mind, so good! I’m considering celebrating New Year’s Eve here as well.

Just as one must work hard to earn five stars, an equal amount of thought must go in to assigning a one star review. I have visited this place both as a man out for a drink and as a casual diner. I have yet to stay in the hotel so I can not comment on that aspect of this establishment. As a bar, it’s a pretty okay place. If you’re planning on doing some serious drinking, please reconsider: This is a chill n’ sip kind of place — not, smash as many beers as you can in an hour kind of place. The bartenders and their customer service vary greatly: The good ones are far and few between — there are mostly entitled people behind the counter. One time the bartender erroneously gave my party the wrong drinks and coerced us in to paying(which we didn’t). She cited we were too drunk when making the order when it was actually our first drink of the night. That’s besides the point though — what I wanted to address was the abysmal food. The menu looks amazing. They use a lot of grandiose words and name drop many exotic treats like chicharrones and truffle burgers. What I encountered was completely bland chicharrones with a dipping sauce akin to a mixture of spices and Heinz condiments. If I was a Hispanic/Latino cook making that dish, I would immediately resign from my heritage out of shame. It tasted like styrofoam that was left between the cushions of a couch for a week before being tossed in to a microwave for 30 seconds. The blue truffle burger tasted like nothing. No seriously, nothing. No seasoning. No flavor. The bleu cheese was an afterthought and poorly strewn throughout the burger; the beef patty was a charred tasteless mass; and the truffle was just straight up absent. The flatbreads which are so poetically described in the menu are equivalent to tomato sauce on a thick slice of French bread. They failed to impress and succeeded in only disappointing me. Like I said the menu reads delicious but sadly it did nothing to satiate. I’ll offer a theory for the positive reviews on the food: I’m thinking these Unilocalers were too drunk on cosmos to know any better.

I spent 2 nights here recently and had a great time. But ask for a quiet room away from the night life. After checking out nearby steak houses, the best deal and food was actually at the hotel restaurant. The Farmacy has high quality, smaller portioned breakfasts with great coffee. The ceilings in the Farmacy are worth the trip… with the animals looking down at you! My room on the 6th floor seemed to be newly renovated and had DirectTV, a real plus. The staff was attentive and professional. This is a Santa Monica quality hotel in downtown Bakersfield.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago when I attended a waiting in good ol Bakersfield. The wedding was at JC’s place so I parked the car, checked in, then and walked to the event. When checking in I was trying to look for the front desk count. Go figure it was directly in front of me. I’m used to a longer desk with several people at the counter. We got the 7th floor and the room was a bit warm. So i cranked up that AC and looked around the room and was extremely happy. The room was small but good enough for me. The bathroom was nice and right by the bed is a curtain you can slide back and BAM, you can see the shower! So sexy! The décor of the room was modern/contemporary and was very clean. When you take a shower, there is a sitting area and the walls were in this type of décor that seemed it couldn’t get wet but it does. It’s kind of hard to describe but it was pretty cool. Customer service was great when checking in and checking out. I don’t like the check in check out times(4pm check in, 11am check out). I also didn’t get to check out any of the restaurants or bars. Boo… Overall I was happy with this hotel. It’s quite expensive for Bakersfield, but it’s very nice. Glad I got the chance to stay here.

An oasis in the armpit of California, The Padre makes business trips to Bako a semi welcome occasion. Think W Hotel Los Angeles without the fake nice service that comes off as fake nice service even when it’s actually genuinely nice service because fake nice is the only nice there really is there. I know, a real way with the words. Am I right?!? Anyway… Great rooms… those temperpedic beds topped with feather mattresses though… seriously, that’s what they have. Legit… but hard to get out of I’m the morning… like literally, if u have any heft u basically sink in and become immobile… I’m like in fat guy mattress traction. The way they pour their drinks. The music coming from outside on the 2nd flood roof deck that I should actually be bothered by because it’s loud as F… but since I’m happy to be here I guess I’m going to over look it even though it’s a work night… if it keeps up my attitude may change as my first meeting is at 7:30 am and it’s now past 10 pm… Its actually kinda jazzy and funky… popping off that snare drum… wish I were down there with the cool folks of Bako but I’m here solo on business and I gotta work tomorrow.

Bed might be the best I’ve ever layed upon. Outside patio is nice. Good food. Good drinks. The lettuce in my salad could have been rinsed better. Tasty, but too much dirt. Lasagna(though very salty) is decent, my margarita is super, and Anjanette hasn’t missed a thing; she’s a great waitress. Get the band to turn their shit down, and it won’t send people away. Patio probably seats 75, but only the band’s 17 groupies have stuck around. A bit on the expensive side for Bakerfield, so I recommend visiting this classic hotel, but staying elsewhere if price is an issue. There are nice Marriott and Hyatt hotels nearby; Bakersfield isn’t that big.

I cannot give 5 stars: 1. Hotel becomes a night club which brings more drunken hanging around the hotel. I don’t mind the mellow but I do mind the aggressive ones 2. Too loud. I couldn’t even enjoy a drink late at night. Back of my mind: hope no one gets into a fight due to to the night club. Overall 4 stars
Nicest hotel in town. Small room. Clean. 1 mini frig. Big bathroom. Good service. Brunch was awesome.

The Padre is allegedly the«Fanciest» hotel in Bakersfield. It is pretty nice for Bakersfield however a few things were just a little off. We arrived about 11pm at night and we were a little confused with the parking situation. They charge for valet or you can just find parking somewhere near by. The valet was a bit confusing to get to at night and not being familiar with the hotel. The hotel lobby was loud and packed with wild young drunk bar/lounge goers. Which was a little off putting. Literally drunk people walking around the bar in PJ’s. out $ 120 for the«maverick» room. The room was neat, clean, and inexpensive. The bed was extremely comfortable! Sadly no mini bar or fridge. The room service menu left a lot to be desired. We tried a couple drinks at brimstone, I asked about the sangria and the bartender told me «It isn’t like normal sangria» uhmm ok. At check out the valet wait for our car was long. ALSO the service we received in the pharmacy café was horrible! Overall it was an ok stay.

This review is for Prairie Fire. I had no idea Bakersfield had such a cute, fun spot like this! My girlfriends and I had a girls’ night here and it was a blast. Perfect weather for a roof top patio and as soon as the sun went down the little lights strung about were turned on. We were also celebrating different events so we went all out and ordered apps, a bottle of wine, steak and dessert. EVERYTHING was perfection. My friends who ordered the nachos loved the huge portions and how good they were. The Malbec was on point, especially with my medium-well steak and parmesan waffle fries. I don’t know how they make their cheesecake but I think it’s the best I’ve ever had. It was almost like a deconstructed cheesecake. I plan on coming here more often.

So I hang out in Bakersfield lately. Don’t boo. It’s pretty awesome. And one of the most awesome parts is this here hotel. It’s western chic, and a city girl like me sinks into their amazing beds with glee! If you’re coming to town, this is where you should hang your hat! The service in the bars and restaurants onsite is hit or miss, but the food is great. The rooms are modern and comfy, with all the amenities you could need and again, the beds, OMG! The cheeky cowboy humor really cracks me up too. It’s all the fun of the wild west, with an almost burlesque like touch. I’ve also had the pleasure of renting out the upstairs conference room. It was just me and the notable Miss Mckenzie S, but we had enough room where we could have taken our meetings on roller skates around the giant conference table. All my interactions with reservations and other onsite needs have been polite and top notch. Valet can be a bit slow, but the guys are super nice and helpful too. The price is what really makes me happy: I usually snag one of these lovely rooms for around 150 a night(I stay during the week mostly) and honestly, when I head into town, I’m so delighted to know where I’m going to rest my head. Bakersfield is lucky to have this awesome property. If you’re in town, this is the right choice.

Jederzeit wieder!
