The quality of the service at Nerds Bakersfield is absolutely the best. I have had two occasions to have Armando, the Bakersfield Tech, rescue me and my laptop. Most recently, he was successful, as a result of pure persistence, in re establishing communication between my laptop and my InFocus projector. I had not used the combination for many years, but he stuck with it until he made it happen. The online service from Nerds is also exquisite. I have been amazed at the ability of the techs to come remotely into my computer, find whatever problem there is, and fix it. The monthly service fee, to me, is an absolute bargain. I recommend this service whenever possible.

I called Nerds on call and asked if they had qualified Mac repair techs, they said they did and set me an appointment for the next morning. I drove an hour away, gave it to the tech, paid the $ 179, and was told they had to send it out but that I should have it back within a week. I started calling them a week later because I had no updates, and they said Sacramento had just received it that morning. Called the next day, said they were able to back up my info. Called a few days later and no new information. So almost 2 weeks in I called and they said it’s my motherboard. Yet when I had it, the diagnostic said could not connect to hard drive. Finally told them to just send it back and I have a qualified repair tech look at my computer. They wanted to argue with me that figuring out a motherboard issue takes time(two weeks!!!). Biggest issue is that I am in grad school and need my laptop. Would never, ever recommend them. Wish I had read the reviews more carefully.

I called Nerds on Call after a phone tech and a tech to our home, from Bright House could not restore my internet connection damaged by the Windows 10 install. I called Nerds on Call and was given an appointment to take in the computer. Armando was very thorough in diagnosing the problem, and confident it would be resolved, I appreciated his explanation of what would be done, and when I picked up the computer it was done, plus they had removed some items in the background I was not aware of, and installed some protective items. Another item that I like is they offered me a monthly protection program for $ 25 which allows me to bring in my computer as many times as I need for whatever I need. This is very useful to me as I rely on my computer. I would recommend them very highly.

–Your call is routed to a call center every time you call and when they transfer you to your local shop they don’t pick up. –They took multiple days to call me back. –Expensive price to fix your PC. I was told the minimum charge is $ 129 for their services. –The tech was friendly and understanding when they made a mistake on my repair. I had to wait 3 days for an appointment to just drop off my computer to be diagnosed. They said they’d call tomorrow with the diagnosis, but I didn’t get a call until 5 days later. They wanted $ 129(their minimum charge) to reseat my RAM. I told them not to do anything and I would call them back because I had to think about it. I called again and said I’d be in to pick it up. When I arrived the tech said the problem had been fixed and I owed $ 129. I explained that I never approved the repair. Luckily he understood and didn’t charge me. I would shop around other repair shops because this place is expensive, but they diagnose for free.
