Called in my order tonight at 5. They said it would be ready in 20 minutes. We got there at 5:18 and they said it was almost ready. Got our food at 6, very upsetting to wait so long to get your food. Which is why we call ahead. When we got home at 6:10 the food was COLD. Very upsetting. I think I will quit recommending this place for their good food. Cause cold food isn’t good. Waste of 50.00 if it weren’t for my husband who will eat anything we would have taken it back. He was starving cause we waited an hour for our food.

I have been to this place a lot of times, always had a good experience but this time it is worst. May be the ownership has changed but everything from service to food has gone down the drain. Me & my friend went today, ordered their special of the day but was given something else with BEEF. Even the service was bad, first glass of water which was leaking and above all the attitude of the staff. I surely am not going there ever again. A tip to any one who wants to try this place, please make sure you repeat the order n check with the server before he/she leaves otherwise you won’t know what you will get.

What more can I say about Maui Phở? My girlfriend and I love this place. If only we lived closer so we could come here everyday. For the apps, you can’t go wrong with the salt and pepper shrimp. Today I tried the salt and pepper fish and it was super tasty. The service is always great and everyone always has a smile. If your in my hometown of Delano, there’s a Maui Phở in town on high street. Keep on cookin Maui Phở, you guys are awesome!

This is my go to place when I want good food but don’t want to spend a lot of money. Everything I’ve tried is really good here. The salt and pepper shrimp is literally the best food I have ever tried! I would recommend making it a plate instead of just an entrée. So good. I have like weekly cravings! Haha, the cheesecake is really good. The one I get is served with raspberry or cherries or something like that. that right there is 10⁄10. I never paid no mind to this place because I feel like it’s just an awkward location on Ming, but boy was I wrong because I just keep coming back! Haha

I’m actually eating here at this moment and I can say I am a phở fan. I came here a couple of times and I always enjoy it. This time however I did enjoy it but one thing I didn’t like today we’re the spring rolls they were SLOPPY. But overall I love it

Pros: Excellent customer service. Cleeaann. Drive thru. Good taste(Orange Chicken, Chow Mein Rolls & Pot stickers). Con: Noodles were a little rubbery and broth not that flavorful.

Ok so business was booming today on a Sunday. I gave it another try but yet again I’m disappointed. Ok I liked the spicy fried chicken. The batter was great. The pork belly was different then I expected it to be cooked since it was deep fried and I’ve never seen that before. but it wasn’t bad. The same complaint. Everything is SO salty!!! Please do something about this so people in Bakersfield don’t die from high blood pressure! Also wanted to try the musubi. thought it was there everyday and the special was on wed but apparently it’s only made wed. I won’t come here again. Fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me!

I guess I should’ve called in my order. I went in to order food to go. I stood waiting for more than 10 min. Everyone seemed to be busy and I understand. It was my first time and I was definitely not impressed with this place.

Heard from some friends that this place was great, but we found it mediocre. Four adults ordered the family meal, and everything was ok, but kind of bland. Better value than Panda Express if you want to feed a family of 4 or 5, but nothing special. Service was meh too. Will try it again for the Phở, and see if it requires an upgrade on this review.

The food is soooo good! Just wish the service wasn’t terrible. I come here often and you can tell it’s just a cluster mess behind the counter. I always have to wait for refills for far too long and the staff always seem to be unsure of what they should be doing. But the food is tasty, and it’s unique to the area

First time ever going here & it was the best. I will never go anywhere else for phở! Hands down best in town. Adam was my server & he made the experience absolutely wonderful. I had the beef phở & my date had the teriyaki combo and we both loved our meals Thank you Adam & everyone at Maui Phở keep up the great work!!!

Where do I begin… Well, the service was amazing! It was a Wednesday night and it took them maybe about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us after we were seated, but when they did, it was great. Always making sure we had drinks refilled, asked us if we had questions about the menu. I ordered the shrimp chow mein and it was tasty but not«omg delicious.» The place is nice decorated and clean. The mango tea was especially delicious! I wanted to order the turtle cheesecake but they were all out and they did inform us that they make it fresh daily and it sells out fast. Hmm, overall a great experience. Can’t wait to try phở and their other menu items.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. This place truly is one place that reminds me of my childhood. Growing up in Delano and eating Kong’s Dynasty is one of the restaurants that I love and when they opened up Maui Phở in Bakersfield I was excited. I absolutely love their salt n pepper shrimp that is probably one of my favorite items along w the shrimp in lobster sauce and the almond diced chicken. They don’t serve the almond diced chicken on their menu but sometimes if the right cook is there then they will make it for us. They have delicious food and I love the Hawaiian inspired foods on Wednesdays. You have to try their spam musubi and the loco moco!!! My favorite soup at Maui Phở is the Hong Kong Wonton Soup!!! Soooo good and the volcano rice is delicious… If you haven’t already tried this place out then I think you should head out to Maui Phở and give them a try. I don’t know if I really have any complaints except that the drive thru takes quite a bit of time, so if you’re in a rush then this place may not be the best for you when you’re in a rush.

I was not sure how this would go but I am glad we went! It was a recommended spot to hit. I did not love the building itself. I found it acceptable but it could use some good cleaning esp. the mat at the front door for first impressions sake. I would come back here for the food though and the service was just fine. We were checked on a couple of times and made to feel very welcome. We ordered phở for the cold day that it was — chicken and also a shrimp one. Large as opposed to a small as it only differs by a $ 1 and I happen to like a lot of noodles in mine. Our soups were very good. The broth was clear and hot sauce was on the table as I love adding a lot of that too. Black pepper was brought to us upon request. All the trimmings were included — jalapenos, greens and sprouts. The best thing about the shrimp was that they were butterflied and the tails were OFF! I usually am left doing this myself at other places. The shrimp tasted fresh too, not rubbery and freezer burnt. The chicken was tender and there was enough meat to make the bowls really worth it at $ 9. The food took some time as it is cooked to order. I would wait any day to get fresher food but it was actually the longest I have ever waited for a bowl of phở. It came piping hot though, very important! They need to get better chopsticks though. Minor thing but I do like to eat my phở with them and these wooden suckers here are the size of toothpicks. Anxious to go back and try some other things — this is a fusion place so the menu is large and varied with so many Asian things made right in house, I was told.(IE salt and pepper calamari is said to be a real hit) I need to get the volcano rice next time! I want some now!

This place serves a lot of food for great prices. We have ordered many different things and haven’t had anything we didn’t like. Everything from Kalbi to fried rice, teriyaki and Orange chicken and even phở. By the way, the phở orders are huge! Even the small! While none of it is the best I’ve EVER had, it’s still quite good and very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get! The service is pretty good as well. The place is clean and they have a lot of seating, including a big, round family table in the center which I think is pretty cool. Also, they have a drive through! That in itself is pretty neat plus there’s plenty of parking around if you opt to eat-in. The back of the drinks menu shows a few dessert options, none of which I’ve tried but they sound delicious. Especially the«house made» cheesecake and turtle cheesecake. I’ll have to try some next time because the description made it sound heavenly! They also offer tiramisu and a lemon cake. Not too shabby Maui Phở!

I’ve been here a few times. It’s great for phở and when you get there combination plates. Don’t get me wrong, this is not The Great Castle, but if you want something quick, inexpensive, and good, this place is better than most to go. Tonight i had the salt and peper shrimp and teriyaki skewered chicken. The Macaroni salad had way too much mayo and not enough of anything else. The shrimp was good, but the chicken was not at all teriyaki flavored and seemed undercooked. I had also asked for tea which they used just serve, but now it’s $ 1.50 for a cup? The bright spot was Michael! Very good server, so he gets props for that… My hubby liked his Hong Kong Wonton soup. He always does, and it’s his go to meal here.

I have heard a lot about this place and I finally had a chance to give it a try. I didn’t try the phở this time, but instead tried a combo plate. The rice and chow mein were good; it was your standard ruce and chow mein that you would fine at other places. The teriyaki chicken and spring rolls I ordered with the combo are what really set tbjs place apart. The chicken was cooked just right and marinated well. Ths spring rolls were crispy, fresh and had a great flavor. Another bonus was that the portions were so big that I was only able to eat half of the plate and saved the other half for the next day’s lunch. The drive thru is convenient, but you do have to wait a little for your food. I didn’t mind the wait since I knew my food was being cooked fresh. It is a shame I don’t live closer to this place, but will have to make a special trip over just to catch dinner!

I haven’t written a review yet? How is that possible? I eat here at least once a week, sometimes two to three times. I visit so often I don’t even have to order anymore(yes I’m a creature of habit and hardly change my order, but if it’s not broke than why fix it) The combo Phở is by far my favorite. I have eaten at every single Phở place in town. Every place has something over the other, but here at Maui Phở its a combination of everything I like at all the other places. Most places I have to fix the broth to get it right, here it’s perfect the way it comes out(I add a little sriracha and hoisin, but not much). The meatballs are great! All in all in my book it’s a great Phở. I have tried a few of the specials. The pork belly is awesome(c’mon it’s fried bacon how can it be bad?). The spam masubi is pretty awesome even though I will not touch spam. And the… oh…I always forget the name. The dish with the rice, meat balls, two over easy eggs and gravy. What ever that’s called is AMAZING! I am very disappointed to see these guys only have three stars. I have been eating at this families restaurants since before I could talk. The owners have a high standard for what comes out of the kitchen. I highly doubt they just make everything perfect when I walk in the door. If you try this place based off my review and are not happy please tell me were you like to go and I will gladly pay them a visit and see what makes them better.

nom nom nom! I got mixed up, and came on a Monday and waited patiently and came back tonight — Wednesday and ordered THREE, count ‘em spam musubis! For just me! OINK!(I only ate two, I ordered too much) I also ordered the salt and pepper shrimp again. So tasty! A little spicy too, just the way I like it! I’ve been coming back almost every Wednesday, and I upped my original review to a full five stars … I have a better appreciation of the food(you can’t get spam musubi like this anywhere in Bako!) after trying other Asian food places around here, and the fact that they get the food out as quickly as they do given they make everything fresh. I LOVE the way they pack things to go. For instance — I got the wor won ton soup tonight(a rec from another Unilocaler) and I loved that they packed the soup separate from the won tons, so that the won ton skins don’t get mushy and disintegrate. This is important as I decided to just eat spam musubi tonight, and save the soup for the next day. I also no longer feel shame if I get more than 2 spam musubi’s, and will order 4 without blinking an eye. With careful planning, I can get my delicious Wednesday order of spam musubi, spring roll and soup to last 3 or 4 meals. Sometimes instead of the soup(the hot and sour and wor won ton soup is wonderful!) I get the salt and pepper calamari or shrimp too, and I will mix it with veggies or a rice.

Thought I’d stop I’m and give this place a try. After ordering I was initially not happy as it took 15 minutes to get my food but I was far from disappointed. When I lived in Harbor City we used to go to a place very similar and until today, I always missed it. Everything I ordered, Hawaiian bbq ribs, macaroni salad and the egg roll were fresh and VERY tasty. I will unquestionably return. As Arnold Schwarzenegger says, «I’ll be back!»
