I’ve been to a few Ramen places and by far, I love this place. People are PICKY as ever, I loved the food and the people running it. The waiter was cool and the owner kept us entertained. I was with a group of people that are picky themselves. They left satisfied and they didn’t complain about anything being bad. Needless to say, their plates were empty. I ordered the Kamisama chicken salad, that plate had some HEAT. I left with a full belly, and a runny nose. WORTHIT and We will definitely be back!

Amazing! Definitely improved since the last time I came here. My picky eater friend actually finished her plate; she never does that! I had my favorite miso ramen, and she had yakisoba. Both were delicious. The food came out faster, the soup was hot and came with sauces upon request. This is a very important factor to me: the plain water tastes good! No tap taste!

We had a great time for lunch today! I took my new kids and try loved it :) I had the veggie & tofu but tried the 2 other kinds and liked them all. They also have your old faves like egg rolls and dumplings. Other people ordered them and I saw lots of smiles. Yum yum I can’t wait to come back

Came here to eat on the way back to the bay from Disneyland .Nice clean place, pretty popular, and service was nice and very quick! The ramen was horrible and I couldn’t remove the taste of the broth from my mouth for hours. I’ve eaten ramen in authentic Japanese restaurant in Japan town and this didn’t come close. It looked good but the broth tasted as if cardboard was being soaked in it.

Touché. Well put. Not trying to insult any ethnic backgrounds, but it was different. I’ve been to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Mexican, and even an Indian ramen restaurant before. But I do appreciate your feedback. Glad to see a response from the business owner himself!

Wife told me it would just be me and my daughter for dinner on Monday night so since we were close and I saw they had some vegetarian options for my 16 year old I decided to stop in. When we arrived around 5:30−6 is was slow one couple sitting and one person waiting for a to go order. We were promptly seated and offered water to drink which is perfect for me I am trying to avoid soda for many reasons. I told me daughter I saw on Unilocal they liked to play Rap music but that had changed since i guess nice soft instrumental music playing today. Decided to try out the Vegetable Gyoza for a starter and they were very good. My daughter commented that she missed potstickers since going vegetarian. Having read previous reviews I decided to go with the Tonkotsu(Pork Bone) Ramen with the Kamisama toppings and my daughter went with the Vegetable and tofu ramen with hard boiled egg, spinach, garlic and scallions. The wait was not long and the Ramen was delicious. Not really a fan of seaweed but the flavor of the ramen complimented everything very well. I tried my daughters ramen also and liked the flavor of the both. I would return again and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is I feel like 32 dollars for potstickers and ramen was a bit on the high side especially with only having water to drink but maybe I am too used to low priced Chinese food places.

My husband(a big ramen lover) has been dying to try this place out. he ordered the pork bone ramen with an added egg while I had the unagi rice bowl. Both waiters were quick to seat us and get us our waters. I had asked for more sauce for my rice bowl and it comes to find out, the sauce was just teriyaki sauce. Kinda bummed me out when I thought it was a special sauce just for the unagi. The waiter recommended mixing everything in the bowl so that I get a bite of everything. Tried it and liked it. As to my husbands ramen, it was alright for him. In his words«there’s room for improvement» the broth was flavorful; his thing was«if this is a ramen shop, the place should smell like a ramen shop». His one complaint was the egg, he is used to having the soy sauce marniaded egg with a soft boiled egg. Overall, we will give it a few months and definitely try again. Don’t let us down!

Here is a short list of things of which I have little to zero expertise: 1. Scientology. 2. The Aboriginal tribes of New Zealand. 3. Ramen. Thus, I will explain to you that I very much enjoyed my order, but have no basis for comparison or judgement and therefore cannot effectively posit that this establishment outranks any other ramen eatery in Bakersfield. Having said that, FRICK. I’m Chinese, and must preface this review with the fact that I adore all things Asian. I love the Asian rice cake emojis on my iPhone. I like pictures of people dressed up as animé characters at nerd conventions. I adore Pokemon and phở and sushi and Indonesian folklore. So, by default, I loved my bowl of ramen. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen(the«tonkotsu» refers to the kind of broth, in this case, a pork bone broth, which, my wife tells me, is good for me because of the gelatin content) with the Kamisama topping(includes spinach, butter, nori [seaweed], and braised pork). I kind of overdid it with the chili powder that I was warned against, but no fear, this bowl was flavor times infinity. The pork, while some would complain was fatty, was SUPER flavorful, and, knowing a bit about food, I know that much of the flavor is in the fat and the bone. Wouldn’t trade it. The noodles seemed to be pretty fresh. The broth was rich. Thick. Passionate. Whoops, that was an excerpt from my latest romance novel, «Nate Visits Kamisama Ramen». I can’t say much more. I liked it, but I was predisposed to like it. Just go eat it for yourself. And be seduced by the scent of Asia.

Really so pleased to be seeing new dinner options in Bakersfield! This is located at the site of a prior Asian restaurant and interestingly, your credit card(or at least ours did) may reflect the name of the prior location(BGF Asian Diner). We were offered the option of waiting a few minutes or sitting at the table by the side door. We didn’t feel like waiting so we went for the side table. Being in the middle of winter, the table area got quite cold since it is just next to a double door to the outside. Additionally, there is quite a bit of foot traffic there from both the restrooms and the kitchen. So sit there only if you really don’t have the option. The service was friendly and attentive service. We were checked on several times, and our bill came without us asking for it. Tonkatsu ramen was tasty. This isn’t Daikokuya but there was the requisite fatty pork and bamboo pieces. It was served piping hot, which is a plus. I would add additional noodles if you are really hungry. I thought it was perfect for this time of year! I haven’t found ramen elsewhere in Bako, so this hits the spot. Parking is easy in the adjacent lot.

Preface: I have been to some of the top Ramen places in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and all over the US so this review will be in comparison to this context but I am grateful for a new Ramen place here in Bakersfield. We walked in and the place was about a third full. The tables were full but they had no one at their bar so we decided to eat at the bar style seating. The server we had was very passive and did not explain the menu very well but since I’ve been to these types of places, I knew how it worked. Their ramen includes a few pieces of chashu along with some other little items. Like all the other ramen places, you add other items for an additional cost.‘I ordered the donkatsu broth with soft boiled egg and spinach. I originally wanted the vegetable broth with the ramen but I was told that they are prepackaged and they could not do vegetable broth and add what I wanted. As soon as I dove into the broth, I could taste the MSG right away. I asked if all their broths have MSG and the waiter reluctantly answered«yes.» This is typical but other places I’ve been to also have an option with no MSG. The flavored were decent but the MSG aftertaste overpowered everything. The noodles were over cooked in my opinion. All the top Ramen places cook their noodles al dente but, they also make their own noodles fresh daily. The noodles at this place are again prepackaged. Here is my overall summary: The good: 1. Place was clean 2. Service was decent 3. The flavor overall was decent for prepackaged stuff 4. Bakersfield now has a Ramen place: hopefully others will pop up to create some competition to boost the quality. The bad: 1. MSG 2. The noodles are not made fresh as quality ramen places typically do 3. Prepackaged stuff Give it a shot and see how you like it… As for me, if I am totally desperate for Ramen I would go back to this place but probably will not be going back as a normal eatery.

As a little boy I was brought up eating the store packaged Top Ramen as many of you are probably familiar with. And when I found out that a place in Bakersfield opened doing Ramen I was ecstatic and last night I was able to finally visit Kamisama Ramen. Now before anyone attempts to tell me that Top Ramen is not the same, trust me I know and knew before hand. The offerings for the Ramen are SHOYURAMEN(Soy), SHIORAMEN(Salt), MISORAMEN(miso), TONKOTSURAMEN(pork) and VEGETABLE&TOFURAMEN(veggie) and all come with the basic toppings of green onions, bean sprouts and such. But you also have the option for Special Toppings like garlic, boiled egg, kamaboko and some meat. Now my wife(Maricel P.) and I shared a Tonkotsu Ramen but added the Kamisama Toppings which are boiled egg, pork, nori and spinach. When this bad boy was served up in front of me, my mouth just watered up like a waterhose in the summer. The aroma was amazing and you can tell it had such deep flavors. We also ordered Yakisoba to share, my wife loved it as I was ok with it, not huge on the flavor. I just went back to the ramen instanenously! We also ordered calamri and shrimp, both are tempura and came with really good sauces to pair with them. But I cannot speak on the ramen enough, if you grew up eating Top Ramen or just love noodle soups, you cannot skip this place at all! The service wasn’t too slow but it wasn’t fast paced, I think overall it suited well for our dinner. We did have to request refills towards the middle of the dinner but after that the waiter kept an eye out on our glasses. I absolutely loved the ramen and will be back probably several times next year to try the other ramen and dishes because they do offer some rice bowls and a limited menu on sushi too. If you have not tried Kamisama Ramen or had a bad experience, keep in mind they are improving and will get better. Try them again, because this is defintely a place I would like to see boom!

I finally got to check out and see what the noodle hype was all about and I’m officially under that noodle trance… So my husband and I got a soup to share and a plate of yakisoba to share and I loved them both!!! When we come back I will probably have to try something else as the menu wasn’t too overwhelming w tons of items. I wanted to wait and give the business time to gather their staffing together since I did read some reviews that weren’t so great and coming in yesterday during dinner their were quite a bit of empty tables and as we sat and got our food the tables filled quickly. There were only 2 young guys taking orders and waiting on the tables and although they weren’t on it w the quickness we had a pretty good experience. The first guy who took our order was not too friendly and didn’t attempt to smile, but he was helpful and filled our glasses when we needed it. I’m definitely a rice and noodle person(hence my nationality haha) and the food was delicious! I will be back to see if I will still be under this noodle trance haha. My overall experience was excellent!!!

My eating-out-of-the-packet-ramen days are over now that there’s a ramen joint in town! Okay, that’s not completely true. Instant ramen is my weakness, but this place definitely makes it better than I do. I believe there are a total of five choices you can choose from. I’ve tried both the Shoyu and Miso and liked them both equally. The noodles are bouncy, the broth is flavorful, and it’s been consistently good. I always add the braised pork because the texture and taste are just so much better than the regular pork. Although they are a bit frugal with their add-ons. Service can be slow. Very slow. The place is fairly new and I’m sure they’ll hire more staff eventually. I’m just ecstatic there’s finally a ramen place in town.

Two Tonkontsu ramen bowls and one side of gyoza and rice. Yummy! My hubby and I enjoyed all the food. Hubby was a little disappointed that the ramen didn’t come with an egg but we know to order it next time. Went in for a late lunch on a Friday and it was quite empty with two other people. So we had super quick service. In and out in 30 minutes. Overall, we will be back and hope to have more time to try dessert.

This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant, and it revealed inconsistencies in the Tonkatsu Ramen. The noodles were overcooked and it tasted like«soggy top ramen». They also cook the egg differently now. They only offer boiled egg instead of marinated egg. I also ordered the chicken katsu rice bowl, and there was not enough sauce. You have to request additional sauce. (This review written by my husband)

No change with the service, this time it just got worse! We literally waited at least an hour for our food. We did not order anything complicated… just soup. Why is it too long to wait? I know it’s not fast food, but man they have to keep up with the crowd. If you’re hungry do not come here because the wait will make you grumpy. When you wait atleast an hour for your food, you noticed everything. Like what happened to me: 1) They served my hubby iced tea with a table spoon of ice. It’s more of room temperature tea 2) Their server was using napkin to clean the tables, he kept on coming back to grab more napkins that it took him atleast 3 minutes to clean a small table, not a good use of time especially when people are waiting to be seated. 3) Lastly, the guy who was taking the orders and running the dining area looks like he was so stressed and over worked that I want to stand up and get orders for him. I’m not picking on them just to be mean, I’m actually easy to please. This is not my first visit here, unfortunately I had the same experience the first time I came here. This visit is more of giving them a chance to redeem themselves. Well, it didn’t work out like I was hoping. The reality is this, when you open a restaurant business you have to anticipate your success. Because thats ultimately your goal. In order to do that, you have to provide good food and service. You always have to remember your customers; they come to your place to eat, spend their valuable time and pay with money that they worked very hard for. You have to make sure that It’s a service business, so you have to cater to your clients time and money. I feel like my time was wasted here. The food is good but not that good that I have to travel 30 minutes to get there and wait an hour on top of that to get my food. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back until they fix their issues.

I’m probably not the best person to review a ramen restaurant because of my distorted baseline of what good ramen is. I grew up eating ramen, but only in the home. For me, ramen was a weekend dish made by mom or grandma. It consisted of a broth, whatever veggies we had on hand, and pieces of cha siu(BBQ pork) or sausage. I didn’t have ramen in a restaurant until I was an adult. The dining area is small, with a few tables. There’s a bar area, but it had very little counter space. It was also hot and stuffy on the day that I visited so please, turn up the AC. Bf had the tonkatsu ramen with an egg. The broth was amazing, with earthy and meaty notes. It was on the salty side, even for my salty taste. The ramen cooked just right, not mushy but not chewy, either. I went for the unadon, a bbq eel over rice dish, instead of ramen. They nailed it when it came to the preparation of the eel filet. Eel is tough to cook just right because it’s a very tender meat, but they did it. The dish was served with a veggie mix of cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. I haven’t had good eel in a while and that lunch hit the spot. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and I will be back for my eel fix. The service was OK and the wait time was reasonable.

Behold Everyone! The greatest ramen shop in this beautiful city of Bakersfield. I came in hearing the nice reviews and the high expectations. I did not leave disappointed. Both my companion and I had different ramen dishes, a soy sauce ramen and a vegetarian option. I am happy to say that both ramen bowls were full of flavor and up to my expecting standards! I am so relieved! The additions to the ramen bowls range from boiled egg to shrimp tempura. But with your basic bowl you get plenty of veggies, so many additions are not needed. I tried the medium sized bowl of edamame as an appetizer and I found it splendid. My companion(grandma) was enamored by this new, unheard of vegetable. Top quality! I was hesitant about expecting much from the service due to some of the previous reviews. I am happy to say that they have either resolved these issues, or that other Unilocaler patrons were merely received by Kamisama Ramen on a bad day. The service was quick and the food was brought out promptly. Cheers to Kamisama Ramen for filling a definite Ramen void in the city of Bakersfield. I take my Ramen very seriously. You should too. The race for the Duke of Kamisama Ramen is on!

At the end of September I was roaming around Unilocal pages near where I live and found this place. I was excited for a legit ramen place but sadly they weren’t open yet. I finally got a chance yesterday to go with my siblings. Let me say though, they don’t have signage up yet with the exception of a small banner on the side of the building. Owner said that the sign should be up this weekend. We ordered two appetizers to start off with. My brother ordered the calamari rings and sister ordered the gyoza(potstickers). The calamari were nicely breaded and tasted great with the sriracha mayo provided. The squid was not overcooked at all, which happens a lot at other restaurants. The gyoza had a delicious filling and the cook was perfect. Since they are fried and steamed, the wrapper can be tough but not here. For our entrees, we each got individual ramen. My brother and sister both got the Tonkatsu(pork bone base) Ramen and I got the Shoyu(soy sauce base) Ramen. My brother and I both added a boiled egg and nori(seaweed) to ours. The broth on mine was very flavorful and was a tad bit salty, as expected since it has a soy sauce base. I added sriracha to add some spice and it did the job to even out the broth. The combination of all the ingredients made the overall flavor of the dish extremely enjoyable. My brother and sister seemed to enjoy their Tonkatsu Ramen as well. Since their base is pork bone it had a much different taste and color of the broth(mine was much darker as theirs was lighter). The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining dishes we were unfamiliar with. I definitely see myself coming here more once winter starts since ramen is a great way to keep the body warm.
