My first experience with this place was horrible. I called for delivery and the woman on the phone was extremely rude. She had a very thick accent, was very hard to understand and insisted on yelling very loudly throughout the entire phone. She would cut me off before I could finish speaking and yell«Anything else? Anything else?» with an attitude. I had to keep repeating myself and it took nearly 10 minutes just to order two plates of orange chicken & chow mein. When the food finally arrived, it was okay at best. It wasn’t bad but not good either. My hubby and I decided to try them out again a few months later — this time via the drive thru and I believe the same woman was working the drive thru window and she too, was very loud, rude, and hard to understand. I ordered orange chicken, teriyaki chicken & chow mein. This time, the orange chicken was disgusting — it seemed old and was very chewy in a weird way. The teriyaki chicken was very plain, lacked flavor and smelled like chlorine/cat. The chow mein was old, dry, and had too much cabbage and not enough actual noodles. Due to the terrible customer service the first time, and the disgusting food the second time, I will not ever return here. From the other reviews it seems as though they aren’t completely terrible but do lack consistency. However, I can only speak for myself. If you’re looking for good orange chicken I would suggest going to Maui Phở down the street.

I placed my order online and paid for it up front. When I arrived at the restaurant, 30 minutes later, there was one guest ahead of me in line. When it was my turn, the lady at the pickup counter asked if I was picking up an online order. When I said yes, she immediately started apologizing and motioned me aside so she could serve other guests. After about ten minutes of waiting, I was called back to the pick up window. The woman then showed me two order printouts and asked which was mine. They hadn’t even started on my order! I waited a total of 20 minutes in the restaurant to pick up an order that was paid for 30 minutes before I got there. The food was OK, but nothing like what it’d would take to make up for this horrible service.

I called this place trying to place an order for delivery. I ended up hanging up because literally every time I tried to talk to the woman taking my order, she began to scream at someone else on her end in what I assume is Mandarin or something. After having to repeat my order several times, and on the fourth attempt at trying to loudly say my card number while she yelled in whatever language, I just hung up and went to China Garden, which was great!

Was disappointed, portions were smallish, very expensive. Mandarine Chinese in east hill mall half the price and twice as good!

If I could give them a negative five stars I would however that isn’t an option neither is having them actually deliver my meal. They were an hour and fifteen minutes late even after I called them 30 min before my train departed to warn them I wouldn’t be there by a certain time so they had better be there before my train left, which they did not do. Anyhow, still late they called me well into my having boarded the train and began eating, and had the audacity to call me that they were outside. Annoyed I ignored the call but then felt bad that the driver might have to pay for the meal so within two minutes I called them to inform them I wasn’t hungry but would still pay so to arrive within 10 min otherwise my train would leave and it would be impossible for them to give me my food. As with before they did not arrive and I called them only to have them complain that it was my fault and that my address was too far but they could still deliver it. To which I replied if it is too far then don’t offer it within the delivery area and that precooked food that was kept warm with boiling water should never exceed the time of even 30 min for delivery and that their business model was useless and not profitable from what they were doing. Either way I’m assuming the food would be terrible because any establishment that combines pseudo Japanese and Anglo Chinese together that isn’t a buffet is a food poisoning case waiting to happen.

I was pretty hesitant about coming to this place since the outside looks kinda sketch, and I was slightly confused about a drive-thru Chinese place. The inside actually wasn’t that bad. It’s designed in the stereotypical Chinese décor with a cafeteria style service. The restaurant was empty with the exception of the owners and workers who greeted us. What stuck out to me the most was the owners pile of bills, letters, etc that were freely out on a table for the world to see. It made me wonder if they had an office in the back, and I came to the conclusion that they probably didn’t. As for ordering, you have the option of picking what is already made or ordering off the menu on the wall. My friend ordered the chow mein a la carte and really enjoyed it. As for me, not so much. I had the combo B($ 6.15) with fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken, and mushroom chicken. The only thing that I enjoyed in the slightest was the mushroom chicken which was nicely cooked and had good flavor. The rice was a bit dry, chow mein lacked luster, and the orange chicken had a strange flavor that I can’t describe. Overall, the place isn’t outstanding. I’ll probably only come back if I can’t think of anywhere else to go on my lunch breaks.

This place is bad! I want some Chinese food but not Panda Express so I decided to go here. I had the chicken teriyaki and the broccoli beef, the chicken was so old and dry it was almost clear. The broccoli beef was the worst I had two pieces and not even 15 minutes later I was sick in the bathroom floor. I’m not a picky eater so that’s why I decided to eat here that was the worst destination for my life. If you want to spend time vomiting PLEASEEATHERE!!!

Ordered online. An hour later i called to ask where my delivery was and they said it’s on its way. 45 minutes later my food finally gets here and it’s totally cold. The peas in the fried rice are hard as rocks and the mushroom chicken is soggy. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is the egg rolls were delicious.

Great service, good serving sizes, and great quality for the price. Free white rice with my meal when other places charge you for that. Highly recommend, and good mix of meat to veggies. The kung pao chicken had a good kick!

Let me get something across: never judge a book by it’s cover. When first looking at the building, it looks a little skeptical. However, once I went in, I was pleasantly surprised, greeted by the owners. The quality of the food was excellent and HIGHLY recommend it.

I see others gave this place great reviews but im feeling like«blah» about this joint. I think it was overpriced and the quality of food was average at best. Now take in mind that im not a huge fan of Chinese food but I’ve had much much better. My wife said she enjoyed her dish but once again I could say I enjoyed it much. #Knowaboutit

Ok NEVERAGAIN, I love Chinese food and was so excited to try and new place, NO! I called for delivery and it’s seriously took 2 hours to get here and I live a mile away! I had to call twice to remind them and both times they said«5 minutes» and 40 minutes later, my food came

This is my favorite Chinese place in Bakersfield! My boyfriend and I had been searching and never found one as good as this. Sweet and sour chicken is the best! Everything is fresh and always clean. They have online ordering, delivery, sit down and drive through. Very convenient and fast! Wide selection of food as well!

I’m always very hesitant to try a new Chinese restaurant but I must say this place was a very pleasant surprise. The food was very very goo and plentiful. The chow mein and fried rice were not exceptional but were exactly what you want and expect when you go to honest. The beef and broccoli were very good and the black pepper shrimp was too. The dishes of the night were the orange chicken and the teriyaki chicken. I highly recommend the food, it is yummy and they do not skimp out on the portions which were very generous.

I’ve had the wonton soup delivered many times. It can make a great dish for nibbling during the day, but I can’t get past the fatty meats any longer; it’s not a fluke. I find the pork slices mostly non-edible, while some are okay after I’ve trimmed off the fat from the edges. Even pieces of chicken have fat on them… and then there are clumps of fat with some chicken on them. The broth is good, along with the veggies.

This place is really good. Questionable on the outside, but when you go in It’s so clean, smells so good and the staff is really friendly. They load up your plate. I had the chow mein BBQ pork and noodles and it was all delishh.

I came here for lunch and the food was disgusting. I had a two combo box: white rice, chow mein, mushroom chicken, and beef with broccoli. The mushroom chicken tasted stale(made me want to throw up) and the chow mein is flavorless. They didn’t even get the white rice right. The beef with broccoli was the only thing I barely ate. I threw out the entire box of food and I have never done that before.

Questionable on the outside, but it is clean and smells amazing inside. I ordered online and it was waiting for me. I get it home and everything looks good and fresh. But nothing turns out to be exceptional. Chow mein is almost flavorless. BBQ is not bad(nice and lean) but it could use more sauce. Spicy garlic chicken was the best, tasty sauce — but it could have been much hotter. I go for Chinese for the intense flavors and this just didn’t cut it. Good amount of food for $ 25. They’d be great if they stop skimping on the flavor, crank it up!

Unassuming little place on the corner of Ming and So. Real Rd. The restaurant is clean, the people are very friendly and the food is great. Fast service in the drive thru as well. The spicy choices aren’t mouth on fire hot but they are good. The orange chicken, Kung Pao chicken and chicken chow mein are favorites. Their egg rolls are crispy and stuffed full of goodness. Their prices are reasonable and you get enormous portions. I’ve been there 3 times and nary a bad experience. I look forward to going back and checking out the rest of their menu. Right now it’s 4 stars as I don’t know if they’re «the best» but I am willing to bet I will change that to 5 stars in the future. If you’re tired of Panda Express, give this place a chance. You wont regret it.
