The food was awesome… The wait staff was attentive and involved with every aspect of the meal. Overall this is one of the best decisions for dinner to have with my family in the Bakersfield area. Had the fajitas, both Asada and pollo. Amazingly prepared.

This place is right by my work and the happy hours are always poppin’! Tall Dos Equis $ 4.50. Love the atmosphere. TV’s are everywhere and a game is always on. They have a very large bar that is capable of accommodating any large function. I can’t speak for the food but the chips, salsa and beer keep me coming.

Went for Sunday brunch today. Stood at empty hostess stand for 10 minutes before being seated. That should have been the 1at clue but the wife & one daughter scouted out the buffet while I waited and they said it looked okay. Hmmm… The food got a 2. Some of the servers(mostly the female servers) seemed to have it together but the overall organization of the place gets a 1. The mariachi band, sadly, was the highlight. They deserve a 4 but it didn’t detract from the fact that the mediocre food featured on the buffet was NOT worth the money. Wish I could have scored them higher!

My husband and I went to dinner here last Tuesday. We split the chicken and steak fajitas with beans, rice, and flour tortillas. He had a water and I had an ice tea. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. Our meal was mediocre… the steak and chicken were over cooked and over seasoned. We did finish our meal and left soon afterwards. As soon as I got in the car my stomach started to ache. As time passed the aches became more frequent. When I got home I went straight to the bathroom to vomit. My husband’s stomach ached for a while but his symptoms were nothing like mine. I called my insurance’s nurse hotline and the nurse told me that I most likely had food poisoning. Up until then I had never come down with food poisoning. The nurse recommended that I go to the hospital but I chose not to go and roughed it out for 3 hours. It’s safe to say that we will never go back this restaurant!

I came here for my work Christmas party and my boss had me in charge of counting head and passing out tickets for alcohol to the staff since I was probably the only nonalcoholic drinker. The place is okay looking. It didn’t look filthy or anything, and it wasn’t anything fancy. The food is mediocre and nothing to brag about. Our buffet menu included cheese enchiladas w red sauce, pork chili verde, beans, rice, salad, tortillas and then towards the end of the buffet they ended up giving us fajitas(I didn’t try this as they didn’t put everything out on time w the rest of the food). My husband said the fajitas were the best thing on that buffet menu which sucks since that was the only thing I didn’t try. The music plays as loud as the club(if not louder) and you can’t even hear the person next to you haha. Not my scene but that honestly was the killer for me. I won’t eat here w my family as I have a deaf son and the background music will kill the conversations. I was probably the only one who ordered dessert and that deep fried ice cream was delicious! If there was a reason to come back to this place it has to be the dessert!!! It would be the best dessert in the whole wide world if it was Dewar’s ice cream hahah.(Sorry guys it’s my sweet tooth talking) Habaneros is okay… We had a total of 30 heads for the buffet and they were charging us 40 heads haha… Whoa huge difference. Good thing I’m not a drinker and I had everyone sign in on my own paper and I lost count w the alcohol tickets so I’m sure they overcharged on that. Staff was really nice and the service was great considering they had to cater to tons of people, but I honestly probably wouldn’t come back to eat here since their food didn’t «wow» me and I don’t drink so the happy hour price is mostly for you drinkers out there and they have great prices.

The visit did not start out well. The service bordered on rude to green to pretty good depending on whom we were dealing with. We came in for Happy Hour and the lounge seemed like more of a spot for regulars… so we had a couple of drinks, appies and left without having mains. This was a bad day to skip mains as it was 2 for 1 Wednesday! The margaritas were ok. could taste the lime mix quite a bit but not the worst we have ever had for the $ 3.50 price. For starters we had the flautas. Loved the outside dough, tasted very fresh. The beef inside was so-so. We also had the nachos chile verde. The nachos were the same ones served with the salsa you get at the meal’s start but they were good. Crisp and multicolored. One of the best things about this place is that they are not afraid to use spice/habanero. The salsa as well as the verde had good kick to it. Also, the place was very cute, I liked the cantina look. If the service had been more welcoming and consistent, this could easily be a 4 star place.

We just discovered Habeneros a few months ago and I’ve been meaning to leave a review. I am amazed with the staff here, Nelson is usually our server(we ask for him if he’s working) and he is so awesome! He has a great personality, great service and never leaves us disappointed.(When Nelson isn’t working we always have another great server whose name I have to ask!) The food itself is just as awesome! We always start with the flautas and omg perfect! My husband has tried a ton of things on the menu and loved them all. I’m a picky eater and usually when I find a dish I like I stick with it! But I have been eating different things on their menu and they always accommodate my pickiness and make it perfect! The portion sizes are great too! I’ll also ass that’s The ambiance is super laid back and comfortable :) I would definitely recommend this place for a great dinner!

I’ve been back six times, and they’ve been consistently good. Their Chile Relleno is one of the best in town. I’m very satisfied with the staff. Extremely attentive, over and over. You can’t be this good with both food and staff, without very good management. Whomever is running this place knows what they’re doing.

Just had dinner there for the first time and everything was fantastic. The menu has great selections and our server was first-class and very attentive. I would have definitely given this place five stars until I went into the men’s room and it was definitely not up to standard. In my opinion the restroom should be spotless including smelling clean this was not. I believe if the ownership/management becomes as attentive to the situation as they are with this service and food quality this place it will be five stars all the way.

Me and my friend come here often. Mostly on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday but the taco special is Monday through Friday. We just picked a day and Hananeros convinced us to stay there. It used to be El Torito and I hardly ever came when it was. It seemed to family-ish but they changed ownership before it became Habaneros and we started coming. Let me start w the tacos. There made with homemade corn tortillas from the taco lady that is wonderful at customer service. She speaks little English and that’s absolutely ok. The options are chicken and asada both are delicious. They come as 3 per order/ticket. The happy hour«hours» are so convenient from 4 – 8. For those that get outta work earlier and for those who get out late It seems every can make the stop for happy hour. There staff is so friendly and knowledgeable it makes you comfortable and feel like a regular. From the moment you walk in staff are smiling and inviting you in. Most of the time I don’t have to wait very long or long at all for a waiter. Now that it’s getting more and more packed I have waited a bit and even gone to the bar to order a drink myself so I wouldn’t have to wait for a waiter but it’s not often. The music is absolutely perfect because it literally takes you from every genres hits from English to Spanish and everything in between. I hope everyone has a few minutes to check out Habaneros. You won’t regret it.

If you’re a fan of Real Mex Restaurants(e.g. Chevys, Acapulco or El Torito), this place is right up your alley. It’s a wide array of fairly standard Meixcan offerings, tweaked to appeal to a wide range of palates. We stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and virtually had the place to ourselves. A margarita and some tableside guac helped get the meal off to the right start, and the enchiladas suizas I got were pretty good. This may be a good spot for Bakersfield but I’d be surprised if you can’t get more authentic Mexican fare on the other side of the 99. It’s not a hole-in-the-wall by any means(any place that calls itself a Grill & Cantina pretty much forgoes that claim) — this place is ready for your birthday party, Taco Tuesday, and Cinco de Mayo crowd. Come for carby Mexican goodness and leave with a full belly!

First things first: Taco Tuesday is from 4 – 10PM and the lunch buffet is only available on Wednesday’s and Friday’s. My friends and I happened to drive by and decided to try this place out on a whim hoping there’d be a spicy Habanero something inside lol. Well, after being seated quickly and looking over the buffet we all settled on trying the buffet. My favorite part of this buffet is the sheer volume of options it provides. They have the traditional buffet options: rice, beans, cheese enchilada, chile verde, chicken fajitas, salad, and fresh fruit. But the extras were what got me. Beyond your traditional buffet options, they also had, chile relleno, beef chimichangas, beef sopes, ensalada de nopales(cactus salad) and a person making FRESHTORTILLAS for tacos! They have both asada and chicken tacos available! Ask for as many as you want then top them with cilantro, onions, and radishes plus as much salsa as you want! They have many choices available! Luckily, they had an habanero salsa. It wasn’t as spicy as you’d think for being habanero but it did have a lot of flavor and some kick. Their chips and salsa is average. Most of the food tastes about 7.5÷10(just above but still near average), but the amount of options is what makes this buffet great. There’s definitely something for everybody. And for dessert they had flan, jello, apple & strawberry custard filled dessert-chimi’s, and fresh fruit. All of this for $ 10 after taxes, including a drink! Not bad. Overall, the service was great, the food was above average, and the experience was wonderful. I can’t believe I’ve driven by it so many times without stopping! We are already planning our next wed or fri trip for the buffet!
