Call me biased or whatever but I’ve never loved coffee as much as I do now after having Covenant! Add ministry on top of coffee and life is complete. At least mine is :)

New to this spot as a first timer, their barista was extremely helpful and full of helpful tips and very nice. I felt welcome and I got their version of a ice Carmel macchiato I loved it. The place is clean and quite. Next time I’m around this area I’ll definitely get my coffee here.

I can’t tell you how long I have been wanting to visit this spot, but the hours of operation coincided with my work hours… so it just never happened. One recent morning I was finally able to stop by on my way in. I only had time to run in and grab a quick coffee. The shop was pretty cool and cozy. It would be a great place to meet up and enjoy coffee with friends. And the organization itself, is great. What a wonderful concept. I wish they had extended hours so I could go more. However I am looking forward to the Shafter opening since that is close to work. My thoughts: Go to Covenant… Drink coffee. Be happy. And show your support for this organization.

Best coffee shop in Bakersfield! Baristas know what they’re talking about. Sooooooo good I don’t have to add anything to it.

Whenever a business has some short of charitable agenda, this is supposed to mean that the product — regardless of how bad it is — is «good.» And not good in the terms of quality, but in the sense of morality(as if food has a moral component). Luckily, this place features some great coffee with a message. I drink coffee because it wakes me up; but every now and then you need to treat yourself to a nice cup of coffee, and it doesn’t matter if you are a coffee aficionado — this place serves up some legit coffee. In fact, Eureka Burger proudly serves their coffee, and it’s freakin’ delicious.

OK, seriously the coffee here is outstanding. Even, better, it is amazing. The staff and customer service here cannot be beat. Aaannnd… they have a great cause they stand behind. I have never had a bad experience here and I’ve been going for almost 3 years. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of their hours. Their schedule just isnt all that convenient for me and I usually have to find myself scheduling time to be able to go in. Since it is such a great experience and I would much rather spend my money here then any Starbucks, I would love to go a lot more often.

I give them five stars because not only is the coffee amazing but the owners and staff are top notch. They take the time to buy high quality coffee from other countries but also make sure their purchases are made direct to the growers and that income is making a difference in their communities rather than paying a middle man which hurts the growers profitability. They only buy the best quality and will take the time to school you so you have the best cup of coffee possible.

I love to support local businesses but I love supporting local business with a great cause even more. Covenant coffee house roasts their beans locally and in small batches to ensure fresh and delicious coffee. Covenant also employs former foster youth while providing job training and mentorship. My first impression was the nice, cozy feel of their shop. A marked difference from my usual go-to(Starbucks). At their N. Chester location, you’ll find large tables mixed with smaller ones to accommodate groups of all sizes. I was greeted by the cashier who was very knowledgeable and friendly while helping me decide on which whole bean to purchase. She even let me sample their current roast. Another cool service they offer is a monthly coffee club. You can sign up for coffee delivery to your door, amazing! I’ll definitely be checking out their website and signing up soon.

I can’t recommend this coffee house enough. The coffee is fantastic but the cappuccino is AMAZING. Aside from delicious coffee, the atmosphere of this coffee shop is very hip and cozy. The staff are delightful and the owners are incredibly warm and friendly. This is a lovely little coffee shop that serves wonderful brew and also serves its community. You simply can’t do better than Covenant House.

Great coffee, great mission, great people! This place has a great mood and atmosphere — Coffee & Surfer mags, soccer and BofA memorabilia. The machiattos are the best — ask Zach about the cold filtered, good even today! Go get you some

Been here a few times and we love the coffee and the relaxing ambiance! They roast their own coffee and this coffee shop employs foster youths who have aged out of foster care. So how could you beat a good drink and a good cause!!! We were first introduced to this coffee shop by a friend at church who’s a huge fan of this place. He is also a coffee guru and loves getting his supply of freshly roasted coffee beans from this little shop. After a meeting for a church event, he invited us to try this place. And so glad we went! This coffee shop has a great, relaxing ambiance… coffee table with a comfy long couch and chairs to sit on… magazines and books to read available… you can smell the aroma of good coffee as soon as you walk in! We’ve been back here a few more times after that first visit! Too bad they are closed on Sundays or we would be here every Sunday after church(they are conveniently located a couple of blocks away from our church).

Best coffee in Bakersfield and the place is pretty cool. Careful not to ask for a sweet shot it sends the baristas over the top and they’ll let you know.

Atmosphere is like having coffee with friends at home, relaxed. Walking in we were immediately greeted. It was very apparent this was our first visit. The best customer service was provided. I ordered the iced white mocha, not a bad choice at all! Great coffee flavor, balanced with white mocha syrup and milk. If you are a caffeine addict I’d get an extra shot. Let’s not forget the art work on the outside wall, makes a great back drop for fun photos. Wall to wall things to view and read. The prices are affordable. This will absolutely be a frequently visited coffee stop !

After reading the great reviews, we a detour here while driving through town. The staff were very friendly and quick to make our drinks and food. My honey and I each ordered a latte and a choked pesto turkey panini. So good! The pesto, artichokes, spinach, cheese, and really good quality turkey(thick cut) were delicious together! An early lunch here and some caffeine made a long trip a million times better!

I’ve been here twice and for some reason I keep forgetting to write my review. Latte art? Check. Decent Flat White? Check(& likely the only one that doesn’t have that burnt taste) Decent Price? Check Coffee For A Cause? Double Check Don’t let the location fool, you. This coffee shop is the best in town. They roast their own coffee(I think there’s 10 types?) and every cup that’s roasted helps a former foster child find success. Highly recommend their flat white, but if you aren’t into straight espresso it’s probably not for you. I personally enjoyed the Gun Power Green Tea Latte. Definitely a must if you love tea! Their décor is charming, with vintage chairs and slices of Bakersfield on the walls. My favorite has to be the tip jar that says something to the sort of: Every time you don’t tip, a child gets a mullet. Highly recommend!

Needed a place where I could kill a little time before heading on to dinner, and I had Unilocaled this spot. While I only had some tea – which they brewed for me and then brought to my table – it sure looks like the high ratings are on the money. It wasn’t too busy, at least not on this particular Friday afternoon, but if this place were in LA, the writers would pack it. Lots of tables, an airy industrial sort of vibe, free wifi, cleanliness(including clean bathrooms), easy parking, very friendly staff and reasonable prices make this a winner. But the super cool thing about this place is that it exists to benefit former foster youth. They’re given job training(and jobs!), helping them overcome often difficult backgrounds and find success. Combine the quality of the establishment with its awesome mission, and this is a place where you can feel good about spending your dollars(though given the fair prices, you won’t have to spend that many). If travel brings me back up to this area, this would be a definite stop.

Is this the best coffee in town? I would go so far as this is the best coffee in Southern California! This is the first real cup of real coffee I’ve managed to find since I moved to the area two years ago! Zach really really knows what he’s doing and seems to have a real passion for good coffee! Walking in, I was a little unsure what to order, the team asked what I usually drank and being a little tongue in cheek I responded that I usually drank flat whites… Oh, they responded we can so do that for you after all it’s basically half way between a cappuccino and a latte… So this is where I get off topic for a second… so I feel like suddenly Americans know what a flat white is all because of Starbucks… as a side note for all y’all out there. Starbucks does NOT make a good flat white… After all it’s hard to hide the burnt taste when all you’ve got in the cup is the coffee and milk(no syrups to hide behind)!! Anyways Covenant Coffee made me an insane flat white… Like I felt like I was back home in Australia on Lygon street good(Google it!). I just wish it was a little closer to home because I know I’m just going to be here all the time now!!!
