First time at cataldos and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED we each got the giant slice
Soooo good!!!

Delicious!!! Place is full of different specials. Chili verde wedges were the best! Basic pepperoni was good and chili verde pizza was also delicious! Not too spicy, just perfect. Expect to wait for dine in but worth it. Crushed ice. Old school arcade games. Cool place.

Very good. Not cheap and no specials.
Is this the place that serves square large pizzas? I liked that too. wherever it is.

I haven’t even received my order and I can already tell you that I’m definitely sticking to the original Oildale location. I’ve always been curious about this location, but just from the few minutes I’ve been here, I can tell you I would never set a foot in here again. Can’t put a price on quality and great service.

My mom got allergies from this place so obviously don’t go here. the way people dress there and don’t got any gloves on when making the pizza or have hair nets from hair falling in the food or face mask in case of coughing makes you not want to eat here again. You work there it’s not your home to dress lazy or look like your dirty

We were in Bakersfield staying at the Hampton Inn/​Hwy 58 for a soccer tournament and wanted to find a restaurant for our team dinner. I Unilocaled restaurants in the area and came across Cataldo’s Pizza. Based on the reviews on Unilocal,an «A» rating on Safe Diner, and the distance from the hotel, we decided to try this restaurant. Here are the pro’s and con’s:
Pro:
*Reasonable prices.
*Food: Portions were huge. The large salad for $ 6.99 provided for about 6 people as a side
and the lettuce seemed fresh. The caesar wasn’t fancy and they gave you little packets for the dressing. We ordered spaghetti & meatballs (not the best red sauce in my opinion but that’s just me) and my daughter ordered the lasagna (which she enjoyed). Our friends ordered the 16″ pizza. It was HUGE and they said it was decent and the potato logs were good.
*About 2 miles from the hotel
*Loft area to accommodate a large party. They reserved tables for us.
*Arcade area to entertain the kids
*Staff friendly
*Cleanliness was decent
Con:
*Wasn’t in the nicest area
*Restaurant was pretty empty and makes you wonder? The worker was actually surprised that we picked that place for our team dinner, which was funny to hear that.
Overall, the kids seemed to enjoy their food, the arcade area, and were able to run around and be kids. Maybe next time we’ll order in and have it delivered and stick around in the lobby so we don’t have to leave the hotel.

HORRIBLE. The chicken was salty, the pizza was super thin, & all of my toppings slid right off of the bread because it was really greasy! Never again. And the restrooms were not well cleaned! Sorry, but I would not recommend!

I don’t see how this place gets so many good reviews. I had a gift certificate for this place and tried a pepperoni pizza, teriyaki/​hot chicken drums, and fries. First thing I notice is how greasy the pizza is and I turn it over and it’s completely burnt. How can they give out something like that, not acceptable. I gave it two stars because I liked the chicken drums. Fries were eh okay I guess, not the best… end results, I won’t be going there again.

We absolutely love this place! The pizza and wedges are to die for. Going during lunch time is the best because it’s quiet and the food is out fast.

Good pizza and chicken. Only reason that I gave it 2 stars is that they wouldnt give us cups for water. Cashier told me the owner no longer wishes to give cups for water. Tried to sell me bottled water instead. I asked to buy the foam cups instead but they were $ 1.70 each. Very dissapointing. Been going to Cataldos for a few years but I found that I had to get on Unilocal to write a review.

Like a lot of other reviewers have said, food is delicious but the service is TERRIBLE. The girl that’s usually there is very rude and unhelpful. Another thing is they take a looong time, for eating in and delivery. But that being said The queens pizza and logs are so good we keep going back.

Pizza from this place is GREAT!!! Not as good as the Roberts lane… But still VERY good… I usually go for the all meat square pizza (The name escapes me at the moment)… It is ALWAYS AWESOME!!! In fact I have never had a bad pizza from this location… A couple of things to know before you go though… 1) When you get it, the Pizza will be stupid INSANE crazy lava hot!!! Do your self a favor and no matter how hungry you are, let it sit for at LEAST 5 mins before you eat it… Other wise two things are going to happen… One, every ounce of topping will fall off when you pull away the slice from the rest of the pizza and second the roof of your mouth will need first aid… 2) The restaurant itself is ALWAYS a mess… I mean like nasty… The people who work there do NOT take good care of this restaurant… It was a thousand times cleaner and nicer when it was Rusty’s back in the day… Also, if you got on a Sunday during Football season be ready to be surrounded by a bunch of drunk, cussing, trash talking Raider Fans that this place unfortunately caters to… In short REALLY good pizza, but order in advance and get it to go…

Excellent deep fried mozzarella cheese sticks. Tasty breading on them. They make them in-​house.

We went here for lunch and ordered 3 slices of pepperoni pizza and a side of wedges. It took over an hour to get our food which they somehow got wrong. I would understand if the place was full and busy but they only had one other group of people at the restaurant. I don’t think we will come back or recommend this place again.
Edit: I just want to make sure I’m clear, this is a review on the service and not the food. The food is pretty good.

The chile verde pizza is AMAZING. I don’t really eat pizza since it’s so bad for you, but I just had to see what all the fuss was about this place. I was not disappointed that’s for sure. The size was gigantic!!! Reminded me of Big Mamma’s pizza in Van Nuys. I’m an LA baby so when I find places that remind me of LA I’m instantly drawn in. I will be back sometime in the distant future for one of my «cheat meals» lol

Was nervous about trying this place after seeing the lengthy negative novel posted by a former employee just 8 days ago. I decided it must be a disgruntled/​fired ex-​employee, which was confirmed by the friendly and pleasant delivery guy.
Loved the antipasto salad — especially the house dressing. YUM! I would’ve eaten every bite of my family sized salad, but I needed to leave room for pizza.
I ordered the Bronx, and was not disappointed. I agree with another Unilocaler about the delicious, buttery crust. Really good.
The girl who took my phone order needs to focus on her job! Although I requested them, I got no plates, napkins or utensils besides forks. She also neglected to note the name of my hotel, which my delivery guy would have appreciated. I had to remind her to take my room number, which she also failed to note. He had to call me as he drove around in circles to find me.
Enjoyed my food and the delivery guy assured me the kitchen is very clean and they follow safe food handling principles.
I look forward to my next Bakersfield trip and another dinner from here !

Whenever I’m in Bakersfield, I get pizza delivered from this place. I’ve travelled all across the United States and this is one of my favorites. The crust is so good, like it’s bathed in butter or something. I haven’t had anything else from this place, so I can’t vouch for the rest.

Is the business my people I prefer them over any spot trust me when you go you won’t want to go to any other pizza spot

Cool atmosphere and great pizza. Everyone try it, you won’t be disappointed.
I love the taste, size was perfect and was better than most pizzerias I had in the area. Hopefully I return soon and dine in again.
There is also a giant, humongous size for those competitor eaters or to those who want to feed a platoon of humans.

The food is good but the place is not very well-​kept. So I have to give it four stars. Went with a friend of mine and the service was great and the prices are reasonable. The only drawback is that I want to eat in a place that is pretty clean.
