Do NOT use this company! They will rip you off! I got an ad of theirs in the mail for an AC tune-up for $ 110 and thought it would be a good idea since I had never had my AC checked up since I bought my house almost 3 years ago. So a technician came out and did the tune up. He was at my house for about an hour total. At the end he told me he took the capacitor out and when he put it back in that it stopped working so he replaced it. When I asked him what that cost he said $ 300. I thought it sucked that this original $ 100 job was now costing me $ 400, but I figured hey that crap happens when owning a house, and I paid him. He left the old capacitor(luckily!) and a few days later I was looking at it and started wondering what it cost. So I got on Amazon and looked it up… $ 25! Only $ 25?!? And I had to pay $ 300 for it!!! I was instantly pissed! If they had charged $ 100 to replace something that cost $ 25 because of labor I would understand, but $ 300?!? I called a couple other AC companies to find out what they charge to replace a capacitor, one was $ 100, another one only $ 85! This made me even more mad! So I called the company a few days later and told them I was unhappy with their pricing and told her that I had looked up the price of the capacitor and felt like I got ripped off. She said they charge that much normally to cover their overhead costs of the business. I told her about the other companies pricing and she still defended their price. She said they would come take the new capacitor out and put the old one back in and refund my $ 300. I told her ok. So the next day their technician came out and took out the new capacitor and but back in the«broken» one and left. To my surprise, my AC was still working! About an hour later a technician from one of the other companies I called to price compare, Advanced Comfort Technology, came out to replace my so called«broken» capacitor, which he quoted me at only $ 85 to do! He tested the capacitor to find out that it was working just FINE! He was so nice and didn’t charge me anything for coming out. I would definitely recommend his company!!! So after he left I called All Climate back and told them that the capacitor wasn’t broken and I felt like I got ripped off. I demanded a full refund of everything I paid to them including the service fee. The supervisor I spoke to seemed very confused that this would happen and said the technician must have made a mistake and continued to defend their $ 300 price tag, and never gave me an apology. Wow! What an unethical company!!! They replace parts that aren’t even broken and WAY over charge! Please share so other people don’t get ripped off too!
