Chuck’s Barber Shop

Been going to Chuck for over a year now and have always had a positive experience. He is super friendly, quick and cuts a great head of hair for a price that I have come to expect from any barber worth their salt. After the first two visits he even started remembering my settings on the trimmer.
In response to the review by Stephen K., there are a couple things I want to clarify. Do not be put off by his curt manner on the phone. He is a one man operation cutting hair nonstop from 7am through 5pm or later, 6 days a week, so when you call he is most likely mid-​haircut. It is also worth noting that he does not answer the phone after 4pm so that he can leave at a reasonable time each night. Moral of the story, call ahead with a time in mind, show up a few minutes early and you won’t be disappointed.

Chuck is an excellent, very experienced barber, not to mention an all-​around great guy. I highly recommend him, and have been going for years. I read the review below from the gentleman in Bremerton. I don’t know the facts of that situation, but it sounds as though he is describing another barber. I have never had any issues with Chuck and the description in the post below is inconsistent with all of the experiences I’ve had as a client of Chuck’s.

At about 3:45 on a Saturday, I called in to set up an appointment for a cut. Chuck said the next open appointment was at 3:45, and I told him that won’t work because I was 40 mins away… *silence*… Rather than him suggesting a later time I asked if there were any later slots open, he said yes, 4:45, which I said worked for me. He asked if I knew where it was located, and I replied I had the address listed online. So I drove 40 mins and arrive just before 4:45 but I passed his shop (GPS showed it was located a bit further up the street), so right at 4:45 I called to get clarification… and there was no answer, just a couple mins past my appointment I found the shop, and it was closed up.
Chuck new I was coming a long way for the appointment, and he didn’t honor our agreement. If he left because I wasn’t there right at 4:45, I consider giving absolutely no margin of error and not even answering the phone, extremely rude and a terrible business practice…

Chuck is quick, skilled, polite and gives a great haircut. He listens to what I ask for and does it well, then remembers it for the next visit.
