Decided to give Sessom’s a try after reading the review from Michelle W. We got through most of the summer with no probs and then recently, the A/C system did not cool to the temp we wanted it to be and continuously ran. I called the folks we called last year and they bailed without calling back so I was on the hunt for another company. Sessoms to the rescue! We called them last week and they were booked out until yesterday so the turnaround time was about 4 days, including the weekend. I wasn’t a dire emergency. They did say they would come out sooner but we would pay an emergency trip charge– no thanks. They are based out of Bailey but serve the entire triangle area. The tech arrived and was pleasant as pie! I told him the sitch and he immediately said he knew it must be the freon but needed to find out why. Turns out, it was the freon, even though we had it topped off last year(apparently cheap builders don’t take care of that for you when you buy a new home) and said we probably have a leak somewhere. He said he could do a leak test to see where it is but I was already running late for work so I didn’t have time and thought I would have to reschedule. He said I needed Freon no matter what and would take care of that today and it would last me until next summer. He also suggested I just wait to see if I run out of Freon again next summer and then I would be sure I have a leak, without having to pay for leak detection process. They actually saved me from paying for a service I didn’t HAVE to have quite yet– SCORE! The cost was expected for Freon addition and we needed 2 lbs of it so it was comparable to what we paid last year. Last night, we slept soundly in our very cool 69 degree home, thanks to Sessoms!

After having several issues with our HVAC system last year, I learned that you need to service your system at least once a year to ensure it is running efficiently. I saw a commercial for Sessoms, and they advertised a tune-up for $ 89. That price is the best I found for a tune-up, so I called them up to schedule an appt. I was able to get one within 2 days, and the service man showed up exactly when they said he would(and called 20 minutes before to ensure I was home). He asked me if we had any current problems with our AC, and I told him that our only issue was the air flow in our bedroom was non-existent. He went about his business, and after about an hour and 15 minutes of working, he gave me the run down of everything he did. He was extremely thorough, and he also fixed the bedroom air flow problem! He said there was a screw that was preventing the damper from being fully opened, so the air flow was totally cut off. No more sweating in bed! He found no issues with the system, and also did not charge me for looking into the bedroom vent issue(small issue, but we had this happen to us before — being charged for looking into a minor issue). Before we had the tune-up, we would have our AC set at 70 – 71 degrees to be comfy. Now, we have it set at 74 and our whole house is perfectly cool. Hopefully this efficiency will reflect on our next electric bill :)
