I am sitting in the 99¢ store and waited over 10 min for a manager to assist me with a refund. Before walking into the store, I checked my items to be sure that nothing was opened. I reread my receipt to understand all refund rules. My receipt had no rules. When Janice came up to me to help me her name badge was twisted backwards so I couldn’t see her name. She told me the 99¢ store no longer accepts refunds even though it was not on my receipt. I will no longer shop here because rules do not apply to their customers.

This store is located on the side of the plaza which is nice because there’s always plenty of parking. Everytime I have came here there was always someone sitting outside asking for money, which I don’t mind as long as they don’t get aggressive. The produce section is always rotten so that kind of sucks. Some other 99 cent stores I’ve been too in LA have fresh fruits and veggies. The quality of things are whatever, I mean you are paying 1 dollar for it. The best buys so far in my opinion are the batteries. I buy my school supplies here because how can a person never have enough post it notes? Anyway, it’s convenient since it’s across APU which I assume most people in the area or in that plaza are students.

Is the .99 cent for real they call themselves the. 99 cent store but charge you 1.00 because they round up to the nearest penny. But they add up to make the corporate big $$$$$$$ so in my opinion they are false advertising

What happened to this store!!! It’s NOT a 99cent ONLY store now… I think it’s false advertising! Prices go as high as $ 4. They also changed the aisles and everywhere is crowded with boxes.

Something new in Azusa, the 99 C store had no plastic bags, so they’re telling everyone they need to BUY the bags! When I refused the cashier laughed at me. Must be a new customer appreciation policy!

Why 5 stars? Because we were able to buy a TON of necessities and odds/ends for our son’s college apartment. Hey– 4 guys sharing an apartment for a year… I’m definitely not shopping at pottery barn. Brand name kitchen sponges, cleaners, toothpaste, etc… oh and fabreze. Yup, pretty sure that apartment will need febreze on occasion.

This store used to be good. Today I was there and Maria who is like the slowest cashier in the world. The line was so long it was going half way through the back of the store. Many customers were complaining to the cashier to get somebody else to open another checkout line. She called twice for somebody else. When the other cashier came to open another line she was talking on her phone. Unprofessionalism at its greatest. So if you like waiting in long lines with incompetent cashiers this is the 99 cents store for you.

This is a great store. It’s big, clean, and NOT overrun by shady-shoppers or staffed by numb-skulls. There really isn’t much to say about a store like this… I guess I’d warn people to check food items, specifically for expiration dates and open containers, as I’ve run into both here. Oh! Also, if you buy something that you LOVE, buy as much as you can because it WILLRUNOUTEVENTUALLY and they might not get any more(R.I.P Larry the Cable guy fish batter, Zatarans fish fry, fig Newton thins, Magnum ice cream…)

If I could give 0 stars I would. Ginger is the WORST cashier she has very bad customer service skills. If she is angry she will let everyone know she is. This lady needs to be checked up on she needs to realize that the way she talks to customers is not correct. She made my whole experience there horrible.

Went for the«fresh produce» found a bag of liquid cauliflower. Told the lady working produce she said«oh» snatched it from my hand. Told the manager all she said was«really?». Worst place ever. Disgusting. Bad management. Bad employees. Zero stars. Oh and always check the dates.

Eh. We did a lot of shopping here recently to put together care packages for our troops. We looked for boxes, wash cloths, beanies, sunscreen etc. We found better boxes at Target for only .97 cents, we also found a 12 pack of washcloths at Target on clearance for $ 2.08 and a 4 pack for .99 cents at the 99 cent store, plus the ones at Target are much better quality. We found the sunscreen we needed at the 99 cents store but I don’t like service at the store. My mom came back from buying razors earlier and the guy insisted that she had 58 packs… my mom said no… we have 51. He counted again and said oh no you have 54, and my mom said no… we have 51. He gave her major attitude and my mom said fine, charge me for 54 but I am going to go home to recount these very well and if there is 51 then I am coming back and dealing with you… she is on her way back as I type this. COMEON! If you are trying to charge a customer more then what she thinks she bought at least recount a few times. On top of all that this is for care packages for our troops! Don’t be such a grinch. She better get her money back. From what I understand the manager is nice, hopefully he deals with his rude employee.

I like the Recession Fighter Stores and this one is on my list. Frozen Food, Produce, etc. Located near APU, in shopping center with Regency Theature(Seniors $ 5.00).
