Sub-par. I would give Emmy’s a 2.5, but no half ratings allowed. We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning, so naturally the place was busy as hell. To be expected. And given the crazy rush of people, our service was still pretty good. The food though… Not great. Everything seemed to be reheated frozen foods. The biscuits were terrible, soft and mushy. Not at all crumbly like a good buttermilk biscuit should be. I got the veggie omelet and it was obvious they used canned mushrooms(YUCK! Pet peeve). Both the home fries & hash browns were okay, but not very crispy Good things– great server, flavored coffee creamer(hazelnut!)… That’s bout it for me. I doubt I will visit this place again, unless my grandpa drags me to it. Overall, very basic breakfast place. Nothing special.

Service was really good and the food was even better. I had the Spartan Scrambler and it was delicious. The feta was really good and complimented the dish perfectky. This might be our new local breakfast go to.

Friendly hostess, fast service, food cooked as ordered, and an attentive server that while busy, was effective. A great menu gives you many choices and yes, even Egg Beaters! Worth a visit or ten.

My daughter ordered pancakes and we sent them back because they tasted bitter funny like they used too much baking soda. Since it was a pancake house we figured they would have good pancakes but what kid doesnt like pancakes right? Congratulations, my first stop where pancakes were no good and my dauggter would not eat them. We told the server it tasted funny and she said«that is how the batter is.» I then realized It wasn’t their first complaint. Wont be back unfortunately.

Every time my dad comes home to visit from Missouri this is a must go for him and now that there’s grandkids it is at least once a month. We are always seated quickly and have never had to wait for anything well except one mothers day but I’ve gotten a few different omelets to just your standard bacon and eggs all were good but the French toast is delicious and a must try! We love emmys and will continue to go for as long as it’s around!

Good omelet had the Emmy omelet with pancakes and hash brown added gravy and cheese to hash brown. Wife had French toast. Both meals were good and arrived quickly. Waitress very attentive always filling drinks. This place is always packed. Every time we come the food is good. Ton of things on the menu too. Just about every item you have ever had at a classic American diner is on the menu.

If the restaurant has a food item in its name I always order it and expect it to be good. In this case pancakes, but they are not good. They taste like they are from a bad mix. To be fair I went in a second time and got biscuits and sausage gravy and that was not good either. The best part is the wait staff is attentive and fast.

Staff was not overfriendly, but efficient and attentive. We were talking after the meal and someone came and took our dirty dishes away. I really appreciate when a sit down restaurant does that. Food was above expectations. Absolutely will be returning.

Emmy’s is a great local establishment that’s perfect for breakfast or lunch. Service is quick, and my coffee cup gets refilled fast! They have a great selection of omelets! My favorite is the Spinach and Bacon, I ask for it with Swiss Cheese. I opt for grits instead of potatoes. Always yummy! Eggs Benedict options are also a good choice! If you’re there for lunch try the BLT Club. Huge sandwich that takes up the whole plate with a side of fries. Very comfortable, a couple of TVs, ample parking, usually have a bit of a wait on weekend mornings but worth the wait. Glad it’s not a chain!

Good atmosphere and good prices. Food is good with a Greek and American mix. Staff was pleasant and very attentive. We had a small group of 5 and portions were large and quickly served.

Tired of the same old breakfast routine… Emmy’s is a must! The Mexican Skillet is delicious, and the pancakes are so light & fluffy they’ll float right off your plate.

I competed in my first ever 5k race in Avon this past Saturday and my dad was there to cheer me on(he’s the best!). We had made plans beforehand to go get breakfast after my race, so I consulted the Unilocal app for some breakfast spots nearby. I remembered seeing this place, because I stopped at PNC to get some money before I got to Avon Town Hall Park, where my race was. I thought to myself, «Oh, I wonder if that place is good.» and then went on my way. It must have been kismet because it was the first result to appear on the app. When we walked in, it was packed with locals– always a good sign. As there were two of us, we were seated almost immediately. This place is really spacious and takes up a great deal of space in a strip mall that looks like it once housed Kroger, but now houses a satellite location for one of those for-profit colleges. A friend of mine who runs marathons told me that the best thing to eat after a race is lots of protein, so I got their country fried steak and eggs with hashbrowns and toast. I’m usually not a fan of restaurant scrambled eggs because I was raised on my dad’s, which I think are the best ever, but those were some damn good eggs. Dad got the country scrambler which had pineapple and ham folded into his scrambled eggs. He *really* liked that. He also got pancakes with his meal, which I tried. They were small, yet really light. My dad liked the place so much that he wanted to bring something back to my mom and said that the place was worth the trip in and of itself. They had a ton of great selections on their menu and I’ll definitely have to try something different next time!

OK, so I thought I would give them a second try and I ordered breakfast. Ordered ½ order of biscuits and gravy. I got either two small biscuits or one butterflied. Very little sausage or sausage flavor in the gravy. Probably won’t go again I REALLY hate to say it but Bob Evans is much better

Good for Avon — new options are springing up every day. Unfortunately, most are cookie cutter chains. Come check this local place out tucked away behind the front row of the usual suspects. «Local» and«serving crepes» is usually a safe winning combination for me. Even kids’ portions are generous. The selection is fairly standard for a pancake house — pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, bacon, coffee. Spacious. Service is friendly and patient with kids. What’s not to love?

Emmy’s is a pretty solid spot if you’re looking for a hearty breakfast in Avon. It seems to have an almost cult-like following among the locals on this side of town. The atmosphere is interesting, being in a former Chinese restaurant. They’ve changed very little about the interior since those days. The food is pretty standard breakfast food and they have a good selection of it. My favorite is the Mexican omelet, complete with jalapenos. Ryan tends to go more on the sweet side for the French toast, which is also well made. Prices are a bit steep for breakfast food, but the food is consistent and the service is good. If you don’t know where to eat in Avon at 9 A.M., Emmy’s is your place.

I’m rating on breakfast alone, so I can’t vouch for the rest of the menu. The cakes were very fluffy and tasted great! Not too crusty in the outside and not salty which is wonderful. My lack of a fifth star is due to the toppings. I ordered blueberry pancakes, and it comes with three cakes(I think a stack should be four, but I can let that slide — I’m just a fatty at heart). The blueberry is just that canned pie filling goop, which doesn’t impress me in the least. This place could take these cakes to the next level if they just bought some fresh berries and/or baked berries into the cakes themselves. So in the end, the cakes themselves are great, but the fruit topping was just too sweet and gloppy for me to really want to go back again. My hubby got biscuits and gravy — his verdict was that the gravy was thin(it did look anemic) with very little sausage. He wasn’t a fan. Service was alright, with our waitress bringing refills quickly, but the cups were jammed with ice and tiny. If I were in the area I would go back, but there are tons of better alternatives close enough that we most likely won’t be returning.
