A Cool Chick Place has so many things going for it… a eclectic, cute boutique with vintage and handmade items. The only thing I think which is really too bad is the location… tucked way back in Avon Village. I had a long talk once with the owner about a year ago… she started the place because she loves supporting local artists and has a lot of friends who are artists(but she’s not an artist herself – or at least at the time of this conversation she wasn’t. Maybe all that gorgeous local art has further inspired her now). She said she has always appreciated artists and what they have to offer to the community(applause!!). I immediately fell in love with this place… last Christmas I bought reasonably-priced little origami paper crane ornaments for my friends(and origami paper crane earrings!). I also oogled over all of the furniture and visual art stuffed into this tiny space. I even tried on a pair of(TOOSMALL) vintage shorts for ha has–(it was worth the shot). I really love this place… the owner is so friendly and willing to chat it up with patrons. She can tell you where every piece is from(including an older European woman who makes beautiful bags, those shorts from a vintage store in NYC, etc.) The jewelry in this place is gorgeous… everything here would make a perfect holiday gift for that special person.

I absolutely loved this place! I went in with my mom(because we’re both cool chicks, duh) a few days ago and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name is a little deceiving, I thought it would be more of a tween store but I was pleasantly surprised. The store is jam packed with everything from local artwork to vintage clothing to handmade jewelry. I began to browse around and started noticing a trend of high quality products at ridiculously low prices(yes I know I sound like a used car salesman). I picked up a beautiful pair of hand crafted murano glass earrings and expected them to be $ 26(Fact: That is the go-to price for all hand crafted earrings). So you can imagine my shock when they were only $ 7! My mom bought a cute necklace and then we quickly got out of there. We may be cool chicks, but we are on a budget you know.
