Avon Softball Park (aka «Avon Sports Park») is good for peewee or geriatric softball and that’s it. Here for Mafia Baseball tournament, 10U-​13U boys are hitting foul balls in all directions. Short backstops, close diamonds and no overhead netting makes it dangerous for spectators and players. This is how Londoners must have felt when bombed by the German Luftwaffe.
Fake, short pitching mounds thrown down for baseball. Infields are all dirt, and it’s very apparent during rains the dirt is washed down the central storm drain. County storm water protection program must be optional.
$ 10 weekend admission for this event. «No cooler» rule. There is an indoor snack bar with seating. The usual food is available: hot dogs, pizza, chips, pretzel and cheese. Surprisingly the snack bar has a beer sales license. Bud Light and Lime-​A-​Ritas. As if!
