I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. McDermott by a friend. This is my story. I had been prescribed a «cocktail» of prescriptions for chronic allergy symptoms. After two plus years with no relief I decided on my own to go to an allergist and to find out exactly what I was allergic to. Turned out I was not allergic to anything at all. That is when my friend suggested I go to Dr. McDermott. After a thoural exam she advised me that I had Entropion. A condition where the eye lids turn in and abrase you eyes. She set me up for surgery with a wonderful eye surgeon and the results were wonderful. I am now symptom and prescription free for allergy medication and feel so much better. I Highly recommend Dr. McDermott, she is an exceptional and excellent Dr. I must also mention that her office team is very attentive and caring as well.

My family recently moved to Farmington Valley and after working for MONTHS and MONTHS with another local eye doctor I still did not have the correct prescription for my multi-​focal contact lenses. Frustrated and annoyed that I could not see very well while driving or doing computer work with clarity, I called and spoke to Angela who invited me right in the next day after hearing my story. She even checked with my insurance company to find out my benefits before I even showed up!
Dr. McDermott is the nicest and most knowledgeable woman! Within 45 minutes she suggested 3 possible brands! She had everything in stock and as I tried on the 3 different samples she walked me around her office and even took me outside to see things at a far distance. One pair was superior to the others, but the other two were solid backups and far better than what I had been wearing. My insurance covered a substantial portion of the annual cost for the lenses and I could not be more pleased.
Her diagnostic skills are exceptional — my new prescription was significantly different than the pair I walked in wearing and I have NEVER SEEN BETTER IN MY LIFE! My husband was so impressed he came in the following week and was very happy with his updated prescription for glasses and sunglasses.
