Stopped by because could not find restaurant we were looking for. Amazing food, great prices. Ordered fish on hoagie, fish was real filet not pressed fish, so tender and flavorful. Husband ordered taco salad, he is very particular but he said, «This is delicious.» We will definitely be return customers.

You might never find this excellent family owned diner if not for Unilocal. It doesn’t have a web page but it does have damn good food. A little tough to spot as there is no signage on Route 27 but It’s only 50 yards off the highway directly behind the Valero station. Turn on to Main Street, make a quick U-turn and you’re there. The ATMOSPHERE is retro 50s and everything is focused on cars of bygone days. Car pictures are everywhere and most of the menu items are named after cars. Our waitress placed a little tent card on our table with the name Sherrie on it. Either that was her name or she has a really weird sense of humor. Throughout our meal, other waitresses jumped in when needed and our overall CUSTOMERSERVICE was just fine. We were there for breakfast and the menu was huge. In keeping with the car theme, I ordered the Mustang @$ 7.49. Check out my picture. It was the best breakfast I’ve had in the Avon Park /Sebring area so far and I’ve tried a bunch. As you can probably tell from the picture it was not greasy and the portion size was over the top. The biscuit was ginormous and of course homemade and warm and fluffy. So my FOOD was an easy 4 stars. This is one of those places that is only open for breakfast and lunch. If lunch is anything like breakfast, I’ll be hooked for sure.

Loved the food, but the place was a bit dicey in the cleanliness department. There were unbussed tables and another that looked to be one being used by management as an office sort of thing since a laptop and other assorted crap was left lying about. Our table had not been wiped properly. But we persevered and I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was very good. My dining companion ordered a fried egg sandwich which she said was excellent. So the food here is great, the service is great, but the cleanliness factor is wanting. Please, if you are the owner of this restaurant and if you care, work on cleaning the place up. You could have a diamond in the rough.

First time here, ordered the fried fish, fries, and sweet slaw. Place is set up like a 50’s diner. Quite cozy.

Typical diner food a block off US27. Choose from among a good selection of sandwiches, salads, or the entrees. I chose the special of the day — roast beef over mashed potatoes with the soup and salad bar for $ 6.99. My wife had the BLT with onion rings for $ 4.99. The place is family-run by very friendly people. Photos of classic cars are everywhere and the black and white vinyl tile floor is the dirtiest I have ever seen. Despite the shortcomings of the interior, the food is good comfort food and is certainly better than the chain options along US27.
