We were turned away from the Motel 6 down the road because we had too many cats with us. Apparently they only allow 2 pets per room. They suggested we try the Acova Inn Motel down the way, and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. I liked that we could drive right up to our room instead of having to climb up a bunch of stairs with 4 cat carriers, and the area seemed quiet, even though it was the fourth of July weekend. The room smelled of carpet shampoo or some kind of cleaning product, but it didn’t linger. After almost a week of cheap hotels it was really nice to have a room that not only LOOKED clean, but SMELLED clean. The high-pile carpet in our room was fluffy, clean, and not matted. The sheets felt really good, not like typical motel sheets, but like something one would have at home. There was a desk in the corner with a rolling chair and a list of wi-fi networks and passwords we could use during our stay which was a nice touch. We found two individually wrapped soaps next to the sink that were«coastal breeze» scented, and they smelled really good, much better than typical motel soap. Our room also had a mini fridge, microwave, dresser, corded phone, and coffee maker with all the fixings. I was impressed by the T.V. mount in the room as well. One could pull the T.V. out from the wall and swivel it side to side to get a better view. We had a great stay here. We had been driving for days, and instead of feeling like we were somewhere in Iowa, we felt at home. It was very quiet and relaxing, even though there were kids setting off fireworks in front of the house across the parking lot. I added pictures of this place because I know how much pictures matter to fellow Unilocalers. I know I wouldn’t have considered it if it hadn’t been my only option. I tried to get Unilocal to correct the name, but their response was basically, «Thank you for your suggestion.» At least now there’s a picture of the actual motel sign. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area. You’ll be glad you did.

Very nice small town stay. Affordable and recently remodeled, this old style(park at the door) motel was clean, well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The facility was pet friendly as well. Be advised, that the correct name for this motel is «Acova Inn» not«Acoa Inn».
