I got to go there today for the first time ever after I saw them in my class pass as a Pilates-like exercise program. I’m a big Pilates fan so I booked a class as soon as I saw a picture of their machine and how similar it looked to the Pilates reformer. The staff was super sweet and the receptionist gave me a free sample of a cute little veggie add on to omelettes, nice touch! The instructor was very attentive and knowledgeable. I noticed they have spinning bikes there too and was told there is another class which is a combination of spinning(cardio) and strength training(gravity machine) now that’s new! I can’t wait to try it! The class I did today was all stretch and strength like a Pilates class but with an extra level of difficulty, it felt like Pilates on steroids, I’ve been doing Pilates for so long, I guess now it’s time to turn it up a notch and this gravity machine/routine seems to be just the thing! I wish they were closer to my house tho! That’s the only downside… for me!

Very disappointed in the way my first-complimentary session was handled. I walked in with reasonable expectations of a first-time guest in the studio. I found the receptionist to be very lovely, as were the rest of the staff. The place is clean and inviting… no problem there… What I found frustrating, if not completely unprofessional, was the instructor’s obvious lack of appropriate instruction of gravity machines of this kind. Mind you, I have been going to gyms and pilates’ studios for decades. I understand the concept of working out. This instructor just stood in front of the class… struggling with her English, and dolling out instructions without any regard for monitoring my form. I kept on asking if I was doing it right because it felt so wrong. I had to get up several times in the middle of the class to change the height of the machine in order to find a comfortable level, and was advised to watch the other instructor next to me or guidance. This does me no good if I am having difficulty with my bodies ability to understand the mechanisms of this work-out. Ultimately, without any one watching where my arms were and seeing if I was actually getting maximum benefits of my complimentary visit, I hyper extended my arm/shoulder and severely pulled a muscle that is causing me a lot of pain one full week later. I have not been able to return to my routine at my gym because of this and when I called and asked to speak with a manager about my situation I was told that someone would get back to me… but no one has had the professional courtesy to call and offer to rectify this in any fashion, or at the very least, listen to my suggestions for how this could be avoided with guests in the future. I am very disappointed with the lack of appropriate supervision that I believe should be offered for a first time guest on these machines. A complimentary visit is designed to enroll guests into the possibility of joining the establishment for future sessions. NOTGONNAHAPPEN! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they are familiar with the machine and have already established an appropriate sense of how it works with their body. I found this to be reckless instruction and foolish management! THUMBSDOWN!!!
