DELICIOUS, GIANTSANDWICHES, fresh salads, meatballs, eggplant and breaded chicken cutlets that will finally let your mother put her feet up! Touch of Italy is an unassuming local treat, tucked away just off of route 1 on Rahway Ave.(just down from the Dunkin Doughnuts) those lucky enough to know it’s there have most assuredly been customers since their first encounter. The bread: fresh, with a bite and flavor reminiscent of loaves hot from some brick oven. The meat case is the envy of all. Brightly lit and at least 9 feet wide, the hams, cheeses and other Boars Head delights taunt. «The Case», a hip-level cold-hold case, proudly presents the cold pasta salads, Italian coleslaw and other daily specials! Service is efficient and friendly. The staff know their product well and if you’re in doubt, they will guide you to your perfect meal. The shop also hosts an assortment of Italian groceries from imported pastas and canned goods to daily-stuffed poppers and olives. Don’t forget to get a quart of their home-made gravy and impress your loved one/friends with a «home cooked» meal! This is a lunch place that also caters and closes at 5… but if you’re smart, you’ll stop by and pick up the ingredients for a solid date night…

I grab sandwiches when I’m in the area from this place. I would say as far as Italian delis are concerned it’s pretty straight forward. The sandwiches are good, not great. I will admit that I am quite picky with places like this because I am spoiled by Fiores in Hoboken. I usually get the same sandwich at every deli and use that as a benchmark. Chicken cutlet, fresh mozz, cherry peppers, arugula. Here it gets a three star, however since that is all I have ever gotten maybe other things would warrant a higher rating.

Excellent sandwiches for the area. The key is the bread is top notch. Also portions are large and they have some unusual sandwich toppings, like slivered garlic. They are very efficient during lunch hour, the lines move fast.

Great sandwiches, fresh product and cool people. They just need to make more cutlet for Sunday football subs.

Five stars do not come easy, but the crew at Touch are on the money. They catered my birthday and blew the crowd away. Since then I recommended them for 2more parties and my friends were equally happy. If you are looking to cater look no further.

Where do I start? Meatballs, delicious. Signature sandwiches should be illegal. The bread, the meats and cheeses, all are completely delicious. Best of the best. Rosemary lemon wings? Yes please. $ 1 boars head pickles? I’ll take two. All salads and daily specials are truly to die for. If I had time get here daily, I’d eat there every day. It’s that’s good. I’d have to say best deli in nj. Hands down. Sandwiches are priced well. Salads and pastas are a little excessive, but one bite and you’ll have no problem spending a little extra for their quality. Also, the staff is very helpful and always very polite. They even offer my son slices of cheese to keep him happy while we wait. Also very good beverage selection.
