It’s kind of hard to rate a beach! It was clean and the water clear and beautiful but of course it was packed ! It just a little creepy that so many boats are parked right in front of all the swimmers ! I worried about the boat fuels/​oils damaging the marine life or little kids swimming nearby.

Had a really good time here. We had a little time to kill before we had to get ready for zip lining, so this is where we spent it. Place is real chill. You can either sit on the beach, on the platform area or rent a cabana. Had a really good time.

Their website says open ²⁴⁄₇. Maybe the exception is Thursdays??? We took a taxi from the other side of Avalon, to find the place looking like a ghost town.

A couple of chaise lounge chairs is a must when visiting Catalina. My husband and I always make a reservation before our annual visit to Catalina. It’s truly the way to relax — stress free and away from the crowded beach. The lounge chairs and cabanas are private — reservation required. If you don’t have a reservation you aren’t permitted in this area. You’re still in the mix with the fun (the public beach is right there) — but you get the luxury of your own space, umbrella, and lounge chairs. Service is always great too! Last time we were there, Robert, our server was awesome. Very attentive and friendly. The people and the place really make you feel like VIP.

Volleyball courts to private cabanas, plus a 360-​degree bar and grills set up for nighttime bar-​b-​ques.
