Liars and scumbags sounds right on point — DO NOT rent from these people — they are crooks — they lie — and at $ 40 for 60 minutes and another $ 40 if you go over the minutes — not a good deal — the do not have carts for 2 — makes you not want to even come to Catalina Island — the ships should warn people about this place!

I concur with other Unilocalers on this one. Absolute WORST people employed. This one bitch had the nerve to tell me «you didn’t hear me the first time, sir» when explaining the rental agreement. I wasn’t TOLD there was a deposit and then the rental fee. bitch NEVER disclosed it the first time. I was told fill out this form and pay $ 60. They didn’t get my business because of that attitude. Be proud of your employees, management. Hope you read this. Try to remove this poor review. I double dare you. It’s the absolute truth!

Seriously this was our worst experience in Catalina. I have never encountered such rude, unintelligent people in my life. We rented 3 carts for a large party and two had to be changed out during our 2 hour adventure because they broke down. When we called in I was greeted by the rudest little girl who REALLY needs to be retrained in customer service. When we try and return the carts it was an even bigger nightmare. Tried to say we were late when we have a free hour using their coupon. Then they couldn’t figure out our cash deposit because they didn’t keep any record of ANYTHING!!! They were going to give us back double of what we gave them. Thank God my husband is honest and believes in Karma because it was close to $ 200. Please don’t make the same mistake as we did. Go to another rental station!!!

stay away from all the cart rental on this island, if you want have nice time spending with ur love ones, don’t drag ur family into a chaos, these people are liars and scams, full of shit with scumbags, especially the patrol (the oldman caucasian with cruising cart and ambush around) the minute you got ur rental cart, you are DONE!!!
You are DONE for the day just because you don’t understand what was all about because no one speaks understandable ENGLISH, they will not tell you anything about the traffic rules and stop you in the middle of the intersection and yell at you that you violate the law and U R DONE!!! Then you have no choice because he is one of the scumbag work with local sheriff. if you don’t follow what he says. furthermore, they will not returning your deposit and act like you are a fool from another islander. totally disrespect.

This business is NOT HONEST !
First, it is true that the staff is very rude, but that is insignificant comparing to the fact that they lie to you on purpose.
First, they ask you to give them $ 40 in cash, even if you pay buy card, «in case of «you come back late. I thought it was interesting, I rented a lot of other cars or boats before and never heard of that.
Then, they give you a map with a tour you can do with the rental golf cart, saying that «it would take you 45 min» WHICH IS NOT TRUE ! My boyfriend and I didn’t even stop to enjoy the view and it took us almost 50 min to do half of the tour ! So they say that ON PURPOSE so that if you don’t look at your watch and trust them you are late (and screwed).
And even worse, they LIE about the time too ! The lady gave me the key saying «well, it’s 1.16pm on my time», turned out it was 1.05pm, so I assume they do that on purpose, in order to make you arrive late if you look at your own watch when you’re driving…
I talked about it with the lady when we came back, and she told me «sorry this is the time I have, would you like to fix it?» with a very condescending tone.

You know I read the other posts here and I’m a little shocked. We went to the island today just to explore.
So we decided to rent a golf cart, one of the best things I have ever done. This may sound stupid, yes its just a golf cart but an awesome first date just cruzing around. So we get to rental place its 40 bucks an hour with a 40 dollars deposit. Worth every penny. The staff was super friendly and informative. Its a golf car rental shop, sorry no cheese and wine. Maby if I was hung over and sea sick renting a car I can’t afford I would be a little cranky about the service. Good job

Seriously the rudest people on earth work here. Some lady (using the word lady very loosely because really she is a b#%ch) she remains nameless because, well she wouldn’t tell us her name. (From the rest of the reviews I’m assuming that she is not the only female dog here) if you see a logo with a tire and wing stay away!!! Spend your money riding in style with the submarine ride and fish food torpedoes. Well worth it and the people there are amazing!!!

This is the same owner as Cartopia. They are the rudest people ever. Don’t rent from them. First off they LIE and say they only take cash. That’s not true. They take cards but don’t want the paper trail of them. Rent from Island Rentals
