This is more like a 2.5 star review, but unfortunately my night at the Ava Super 8 wasn’t a good enough experience to bump up to a higher star rating. This is basically your only option in Ava proper. The good news is, it’s cheap and it’s clean. But then again, you get what you pay for. Our room, although clean, was oddly damp. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a harsh chemical cleanser smell. The carpet was spotlessly clean, but wet. I’m guessing the carpet had been recently shampooed, but not properly dried. This gave the entire room an unpleasant dampness on top of the smell. The sheets were thin, the towels were frayed, the pillows were comically small and I could feel the springs in my mattress. The bathroom lacked proper ventilation(i.e. the ceiling fan is worthless) so taking a shower turned our room downright tropical. The cheap shower head and curtain meant that our bathroom floor was flooded on top of it all. The room includes breakfast, but I can’t comment on the quality because I wasn’t there to eat it. This hotel could be a lot worse. It wasn’t particularly comfortable, but it was clean. If we hadn’t had such a damp room, the stay would have been better.
