I don’t know what kind of gems people are used to but I was not impressed. Hookah was ok. Service horrible. If I have to ask for new charcoal and you still haven’t brought it after 20 mins we have a problem. Could use better seating if you want to keep customers. Put a little effort.

This place is a hidden gem in North Austin. The hookah was amazing, the Moroccan mint tea was delicious and the service was 5-Star. If you are hungry, you can also grab some food at the nearby restaurants and bring it back to Zaytouna. We will definitely be coming back!

My friends and I are regulars here because we love the service and the hookah! Their Moroccan mint tea is great and their staff always has fun and creative recommendations for sesha flavors if you don’t know what you want. They have recently been undergoing a change in staff but it hasn’t changed the quality of service which is great. The manager/owner is often seen there and he is always warm and helpful. Even when I don’t smoke or when our friends who don’t smoke join us when we come here, we still have fun playing board games and watching whatever they have playing on Netflix. My friends and I have gone to other places but we always come back to Zaytouna’s for the great service and chill environment.

5 star on everything. Really nice atmosphere to come to after work when I’ve got other stuff to work on. Staff is nice; owner is nice too. The prices I think are the best in austin that I’ve been to too. Overall great experience. I’ve come here about 10 or so times so far and it’s been great every time.

Let me start by saying that the location, hookah and mint tea is excellent! No complains in the actual product. Hookah was clean, tea was magnificent. My issue is with the owner. My husband and I came in because of the reviews(and the raving reviews for the mint tea, it really is amazing) we also came because there is a Unilocal offer for 25% off. So as we were ordering and paying we mentioned that we have this offer. The guy working wasn’t really sure what to do when we mentioned we had the discount on Unilocal,so he called the owner. He spoke to the owner for a solid 5 minutes, and I could tell the owner just wasn’t happy about us using this discount and was chewing the poor guy out. The guy working apologized for the owners behavior, and handled the situation well. Eventually he gave us the discount and ran my card for 25% off. Then he says«the owner would like to speak to you» then puts my husband on the phone with the owner. The owner proceeded to fight us on how we got the discount, rambled on about how Unilocal was screwing him out of money. My husband eventually said«Okay. I’m going to give the phone back now…» And the guy still went on and on about Unilocal. This is the reason I am giving only 1 star. I am a first time customer at this place, the Unilocal discount(resulting in $ 5) really isn’t something to lose business over, but we won’t come back to this place again. Unfortunate, because it really was a decent place! I just can’t stand such a lack of customer service, or rather just common sense.

This place is a hidden gem! They have delicious teas. The mint and jasmine are our favorites. They also have hookahs that you can sit and smoke for hours. My favorite hookah flavor is rose and mint. The place has free wi-fi, so you can even do work. Overall, very relaxing, quaint and fun

By far the best hookah lounge in North Austin everything is always clean and fresh. The service can be a little slow sometimes but that’s because it takes the coconaras a long time to light up. My hookah is always great and they make it right in front of you so there is no back room shady business crap. shisha is always fresh and never re used. I personally enjoyed the Moroccan mint tea with my friends.

A hookah place that is open late — a win! a hookah place so filled with smoke inside that I don’t even taste what I am smoking — bad! like, really bad! May be once they open the outside patio… Also, they ran out of everything… and the service was very slow, the tea didn’t arrive until after we were completely suffocated and wanted to just get out of there…

Okay, no. First of all, they only have ONE starbuzz flavor. Second, this place needs better ventilation, because it smells like burning coals, like the toxic, acidic smell. The hookah itself is pretty bad and the hoses tasted nasty. Probably one of the worst hookah bars I’ve ever been to(and I’ve been to some very horrible places in San Francisco). I hope there’s better places for hookah in Austin, otherwise, my advice is make your own. Oh, and the service was pretty bad. We had to wait over 30 minutes to get our hookah. Because they were busy? No, they weren’t. I make hookah myself and I know how long it takes to do it. I don’t know what the problem was. And they ran out of all the desserts…

I love this place! The tea is amazing and the atmosphere is awesome. The employees and owner are also SUPER nice about everything. They do literally everything they can to make sure you’re happy, and want to come back. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the pretty hefty price increase over the past 1 – 2 years. However with the limited space I’m sure that’s the only way to not have 100 people there at a time. :P

Small place but very cozy. Had a great time with friends. Stayed there for quite a while and played some poker. They also have heat poles in their back covered patio for the winter season.

I was very impressed with this place. The owner? Manger? made some GREAT recommendations on hookah flavors — we got the grapefruit hookah with flavors: guava and mint. YUM. The hookah lasted a long time between two people, and they came around every so often to change out the coals. The tea… I would come back just for the tea. It was some Moroccan tea with mint. UGH. So so good, especially on a cold day. We got a happy hour discount. Lots of places to sit outdoors, but we sat indoors. Too cold haha. Pricing is great. Hookah flavors awesome. Tea, to die for. It’s so close to my apartment too. Will definitely be back.

Really loved this place. At first it was a bit odd because it’s kind of in a deserted area and looks like a house. It’s a very chill area. The hookah was a good decent price at $ 12 and the medium tea pot is $ 5. We had ordered some tea and it took long to get to the table so we let one of the men who worked there know. He immediately brought us a large tea pot and a flan cake for the wait. He was very accommodating and offered great customer service. The tea was the best tea I have ever tasted. We got moroccan mint and wow! I’d go back just for more of that tea.

Thanks again Unilocal! You win. So, the weird part was we were at Phara’s, who has hookah, and just were NOT gonna pay $ 21 there. Either find somewhere else on the handy Unilocal app, or call it a day and go home. $ 12 for a high quality hookah created especially for you by the lovely owner. He was a really nice guy(and smart enough to have Unilocal deals!) Okay listen though — get that moroccan mint tea. Honestly, some of the best tea I’d ever had. Unless you hate mint, then maybe you might not like it. Or maybe it’ll convert you.

Of all the things I miss from my stint in Indiana, the sole«international» spot, a hookah lounge, is high on the list. So when Tasha B told me a tea place opened up right in our hood, I skipped, hopped, and jumped on it. The smell of apricot hookah permeated the air, along with music and the sound of an all-male cast of players throwing huge silver balls in a Moroccan version of Boce Ball. In fact, I was the only girl in the place. I got the sense that, by 9:30pm, it may have been passed my chaste-female bedtime, so to speak. But Amine, the kind owner, made us feel at home, bringing a tray of treats out to us on the handsome wooden deck. The delicate little dessert nibblets were scrumpticulous. See how I made up a word? The triangular baklava-like bits were my favorite, along with the mini coconut cookie. Amine also brought a small taste of their version of flan, and it was very palatable. The highlight: sweetened jasmine mint tea, prepared laboriously, and with delicate, delicious results. Though I’ll ask for less sugar syrup next time, it was so delightful. They’ve been open for about a month, and once they get some Scrabble and chess boards in, I think the boy and I will make this a frequent nightcap. A group of us will also have to take this place by ladies-style storm. I don’t have the cooties, last I checked anyway.
