Dr. Barbour and his nurse are fantastic. They always make me feel comfortable in the office, and do everything they can to make the environment inviting. I was nervous to see a male GYN at first, but he is completely professional and I was no longer uncomfortable after 5 minutes of speaking with him. Dr. Barbour always takes a thorough history, and since I only come in yearly, he makes sure nothing has changed(family history, medications, etc). He even asks how school is going, and remembers specifics about me. I will always return to Dr. Barbour and will recommend anyone I know to see him.

Dr. Barbour is, in my opinion, a pretty awesome OB/Gyn doc. When I came in last year for my annual exam and to discuss birth control options, he listened to my concerns about estrogen’s effect on my blood pressure(I’m quite sensitive to it) and suggested several options, including IUD’s, Depo Provera, progestin-only pills(what I went with initially), and Implanon(which I have now). He wasn’t Implanon-certified at the time, but was a few months later when I finally managed to figure out whether my insurance would cover it. I was one of his first patients to get Implanon and they even had a pharmaceutical rep there to oversee the insertion(with my consent, of course), but he did everything flawlessly and had thoroughly explained the procedure and possible side effects.
