I thought Westbank Management was managing my 3 properties OK for the past ¾ years. They used to do maintenance. But, the last maintenance item charged to my account was Nov 1, 2010. No maintenance for 8 months on 3 properties is very suspicious. It turns out that I was right to be suspicous. For unrelated reasons, I turned the 3 properties that Westbank/David Johnson was managing over to an individual property manager. And, at the same time(before she started managing), two tenants gave notice. In walk-throughs with the tenants, there are long lists of troubling items that the tenants«reported to Westbank, and it was never fixed». There are plumbing leaks(yikes!!) that were not fixed, causing major damage to my property. The tenants had become accustomed to things not being fixed. David Johnson certainly did not«go to the property, check things out and sometimes take photos» for me as the other reviewer said he did. The opposite: he ignored requests for maintenance from the tenants. I’m mad. I’ve been betrayed. I never said«no» to any repairs, back when they previously fixed things. I want my properties to be maintained. Their paperwork/book-keeping is fine, if that’s all you want. But, I think that a monthly commission expense for simple bookkeeping, ignoring all problems, is unjustified.

I have used four property management companies and dealt with five property managers so far. David Johnson is the best I ever had. He goes to the property, check things out and sometimes takes photos. He discusses repair costs with me. He screens tenants and reports to me every time. They have an administrator who provide professional statements with supporting third-party invoices. They provide direct deposit. They also keep pace with the technology and provide online statements. Even though I am not giving them five stars, I doubt if any property management companies are better than them.
