If I could give negative ten stars to this chauvinist pig, I would. We hired Walter when we moved in to our house around September. He promised«full service» Here is what«full service» entails per the Contract(from the actual contract and what he did and did not perform) «Mowing — performed — Blowing– performed — Edging Ledge– performed — Trimming all butches– BUSHES, performed — Clean up all flower beds– meh. — Add mulch when necessary– yeah, but he would have us pick it up when it wasn’t on his way to bingo. — Weed control. We apply only those products recommended by Contractor. If Client selects their own weed control products, Contractor shall not be responsible for effectiveness of such products or consequences of their use– NOPE. see below. — Apply fertilizer to plants that are in need. If Client chooses fertilizer Contractor shall not be responsible for effectiveness of products or consequences of their use– NEVER performed — Plant seasonal flowers– never even recommended them, just ignored this part. We planted flowers ourselves. — Plant winter rye– Nope, didn’t do this. — Removal of grass clippings– performed as part of blowing» He made good on only 4⁄11 contracted claims. This is to be performed on «a mutually agreed upon schedule on a bi-weekly basis». Walter had a great attitude when he came out to give us a quote. As a seemingly honest and hard working immigrant, we were happy to contract his services. The problems started pretty quickly in the relationship. He would ask my husband to pick up mulch(included in his regular service, which he is supposed to pick up). We thought it was a minor annoyance and picked it up any way. Another time, he asked us to pick up literally 3 dog toys that were on the grass which I thought was a snotty and petty request(you couldn’t just pick up 3 toys for 110 bucks a month?) Our real problems started when we started having weeds in the yard. On the day that he was supposed to come out and spray weed killer, it rained. He explained that it would be pointless in spraying the weed killer since it would just wash away, which was completely understandable. However, instead of coming back and spraying weed killer in the following days after it stopped raining, he just ignored the weed problems(he ignored these for a good 13 days, which with the rain, they have ruined our backyard) We started calling Walter to reschedule our mowing date and move it up so he could spray and mow since the weeds were taking over the lawn. We called more than 5 times, with no responses from him(HUGEBIGREDFLAG) Finally, 4 days before our regular service, Mr. hotshot decided to call back. He said he could come and spray the lawn but it would not work very well unless he was mowing and spraying. His schedule is so packed that he cannot move the mowing date. When I spoke with him and told him we were very upset with his service, instead of apologizing and saying he would make it right, Walter started arguing with me like I was his girlfriend. I’m sorry, I just don’t have time to deal with your huge male ego. I told him he was yelling at his customer and we don’t do that so he had one month to fix the lawn or we would look for someone else. Walter proceeded to come over un-announced a few minutes following our call(SUPER rude, we are not your friends to come over to chill) and proceeded to continue our argument and tell me his schedule was fixed and he didn’t care if the weeds were taking over, because his schedule was fixed. We will be taking him to small claims court for neglect and causing us expenses to fix the weed-ridden yard which is now pretty much dead. Save your money and your dignity people. Your contractors should treat you with respect and not behave like you’re their girlfriend to yell at and argue with. ZERO professionalism. Speaks 50% English(which would not be a big deal to us if he hadn’t cocked an attitude and use it as an excuse for yelling at us) We fired him and looked around for a new service. We have a new service that costs 10 bucks more than him, speak fluent English and are polite and courteous(and they have an app and will reschedule when it rains– what? that’s possible?). Worst Austin customer service experience yet. I will never recommend any one to do business with this man.

When I contacted Walter — he came out the same day to provide an estimate for the work. After accepting the bid he said he would start the next week. It was a nice surprise when he was able to do it sooner. Walter and his team — under promised and over delivered. They came out ahead of schedule and did not have to be told what to do. They did edging, trimming, mowing, weeded and mulched the plant beds. They impressed me that I signed up for the maintenance plan. When they came back the following week; I saw a repeatable process — a team that is a well oil machine — who works together to get the job done in an efficient manner. It is also nice to know that Walter and Company does stone and fence work.
