I used to work on Parmer, on Metric, and back on Parmer, so I know this place wasn’t here 5 years ago. So why does it look like my great-grandma’s nursing home c. 1986 inside? The sign is cute and kitschy but the interior looks like it was designed by the Golden Girls with an emphasis on Rose. Sitting in here, a thought occurred to me. I bet there are people out in the world to whom a place like this would be unbelievably sexy. People that like to get it on at inappropriate places. Any one of the rose/mauve/lavender booths at the Village Inn would fit that bill just fine. I’d love to give this place no stars but our waitress and everyone working here today was genuinely nice and they leave you a pot of coffee on your table so I got to kick it up a notch. However, I love gravy, I love fresh gravy, and the cream gravy I was served here today on my egg and sausage crêpe was a gloopy congealed just-add-water mess that must have come out of a microwaved bucket and that I cannot abide. Also, the sausage tasted weird. Also, that was just an odd dish to be selling to people and yeah, my fault for ordering it, but if you’re going to put something out of the ordinary like that on the menu at least back it up with some flavor. If you like Denny’s or iHop(not that there’s anything wrong with that), you’ll probably think the Village Inn is some high class shit. If you don’t like Denny’s or iHop, stay far far away.

My boyfriend and I ventured out to this place one late nite. Village Inn is only open until 3am, not 24 hours. Their french toast is actually really good. I had bacon, eggs, fruit and grits. Wait service was okay. Village Inn is similar to IHOP and Dennys. It’s definitely a cleaner restaurant. EDIT: I recently went to VI(1÷17÷08). Service was horrendous. I mean, the waitress was horrible. The food was still fine, but there is no reason to yell at me if I wanted my soup with my entrée.(Or if I wanted a refill). They just lost 2 stars.

Not a fan of this place. It’s owned by the same company that owns the Baker’s Square chain, which I remember being decent, but this did not live up to that memory at all. Greasy, low-quality, mass-produced food — as Jennifer P says, similar to Denny’s, only not as good. They did have some pies in their case which, if they’re anything like the ones at Baker’s Square, are probably pretty decent, but I didn’t try them, so I can’t really comment on that. But the food? Not so much.

The food was okay. There was a vent above us that was blowing cold and warm and cold, so go on. Ugh. The waiter messed up my order, but he eventually got me the right one — the grilled chicken sandwich. Honestly, Denny’s is much better than this one, but Waffle House still wins over Denny’s. Now, you might understand what the quality I am talking about.
