If you want a Torchy’s that will make your tacos different from every other location in Austin, and ignore you up to ten times before you have to literally shove your food at a runner in desperation to have it fixed, go here. But why would you? Their ringers are fine up front, and we got an accurate order, but between over-enthused kitchen staff and runners that could not possibly care less about the guests, I will not be back.

Love this Torchy’s! They are open to creativity. I’m always asking for doctored tacos such as the lamb special with chicken instead of lamb. No matter what crazy idea I through at this Torchy’s they are always super cool and very accommodating! This means a lot to me. TORCHY’S HASTHEBESTTACOSINAUSTIN! wanna fight?

Torchy’s. This has become some of my favorite tacos in Austin. The Crossroads is my go-to, but I haven’t been disappointed by anything I’ve tried. As good as the tacos are, we love their green chili queso. Maybe the best in Austin. It rivals Matt’s Bob Armstrong Dip and I would say even edges it out.

Everything was so delicious. The fried avocado tacos stole my heart. You must get the queso queso queso! We brought some back from Austin to New Orleans in a cooler so my mom could try it. She posted on facebook that I was her favorite child for that. Wish we had a Torchy’s in NOLA!!!

Good stuff! Many options for Taco’s and I love how it’s beyond the traditional beef, chicken or pork tacos. Food — Had the fried chicken tacos, which I recommend. Never had fried chicken in a taco before and it was great. It’s great with the ranch dip!

Hands down FAVORITETACOPLACEEVER. Tex– American style tacos that are so flavorful and delicious. I am from California and I so deeply wish a torchys tacos would come there. The chips and queso are to die for as well I highly recommend adding it to your meal. It has a mixture of avocado and chile in it, so amazing. The trailer park taco was my favorite of the tacos I tried, didn’t try it «trashy style» but next time I will. favorite food stop in Austin yet!

I stopped here one morning before heading back to Houston. Torchy’s is known to have good cheap breakfast tacos, so we stopped. The location was supposed to be spacious, but it wasn’t so much for a family of five. I ordered my favorite Trailer Park Trash and that’s all. It was delicious as always. I sampled my mum’s order of queso and chips, it was super delicious. The cheese wasn’t that football game nacho they like to sell which is processed. This was flavorful and full of spices. The restaurant was clean and the beverages station wasn’t sticky. Parking wasn’t a issue as it was plenty.

The only knock against Torchy’s is its queso is way too spicy for me. But, they’ve got a die hard fan in every other area. I’m on a personal mission(as I bet are a lot of others) to try every single one that looks appealing to me. I’m 6 out of 11 so far! I also don’t eat eggs but they do have a breakfast taco with just potatoes and cheese I’m gonna have to get on soon. I’m sure they’re willing to customize out the eggs on the others as well, as everything I know about them says they’re super flexible. Their prices also seem very reasonable to me. The line one Sunday brunch-time was about 15 minutes long, but food still came out fast after that. This location is spacious and even has a couple of outdoor seats, plus plenty of parking in a great shopping center. Really cool to see Torchy’s grow so much over the years. You keep doing you, Torchy’s!

Our closest friends took us here because Torchys has amazing tacos and boy did they deliver! The tacos are huge and have unique names like the Democrat, Republican, Dirty Sanchez, Independent, etc. I only needed two tacos and I was lightly full. When I heard that Torchys was a food truck turned restaurant I was sold. My recommendation: The Baja shrimp is the best shrimp taco I’ve ever had: juicy, thick shrimp coated in a flavorful batter and fried. Yum! Get the green chile quesoand chips – it’s a heavenly blend of guac, cheese and Diablo hot sauce. Order with a hard cider and you’re set.

OMG… this place is soooo delicious! I had the Wrangler… so good and the chips and queso that they give you as an appetizer is so amazing! THEY brought us our food in less than 10 minutes after we ordered for 3 people. Employees are super nice as well! Prices are cheap!

Whenever I come to Texas, there are two things I always look forward to: BBQ and kolaches. Now I can add a third: Breakfast Tacos! On a recent trip to Austin, I swung into Torchy’s Tacos to try our their morning offering. I was feeling pretty hungry and wasn’t sure how big Torchy’s Tacos would be, so I ordered three of their favorites: The Monk Special, The Wrangler, and the Ranch Hand, with a cup of coffee. I’m not going to say that I made a mistake in ordering three(because they were delicious) but two would have been more than enough. Cradled in double corn tortillas, the fillings were served up hot, fresh, and flavorful. And that was before I lined them with the two different sauces that came with them. The Monk Special: No potatoes, but filled with bacon, chilies and cheese. Oh –I forgot to mention: I don’t eat eggs so all of these tacos were ordered sans huevos. I’m sure that if you are one of those people who do eat eggs, then you’ll be more than satisfied(Judging by the looks of the folks around me). Anyway, even without the eggs, the Monk Special was hearty and filling. The Wrangler featured smoked brisket, potatoes and cheese. The deep smoky flavor of the chopped beef was heavenly and I would’ve happily ordered another one. The Ranch Hand was filled with grilled beef fajita meat and and cheese. So good. At the end, I was stuffed. If I had to pick a favorite I would probably lean towards the Wrangler because I’m a sucker for BBQ and because it was filled with potatoes. But if you’re ever in this predicament, don’t pick. Do what I did and enjoy all three! Oh, BTW the coffee was good, but the sauces packed a punch so I ended up drinking way more water than coffee! Enjoy!

Still love these tacos! I come to this location regularly as it’s so close to my home. The tacos are well made, and always taste great. I still would rank other locations higher than this one as I’ve had some issues here: spoiled orange juice that must not have been refrigerated properly, and to-go orders can be hit or miss. I’ve received incorrect orders, and just this evening I had to call in 3 times just to get an order made(first time I hung up after waiting on hold for almost three minutes, second time they disconnected, finally got through on the third time and it was obvious Kimberly wasnt paying attention to what I was saying). When I arrived to pick up my order I assumed the place would be jam packed to explain the phone issues – not at all. I like Torchy’s but this location has been the worst I’ve experienced regarding service.

It’s torchys. It doesnt disappoint. The hipster, the democrat, the hillbilly, theyre all fantastic. Theyre not small, these are big and loaded tacos full of flavors. Ask for the not so secret ‘secret menu’ there are some beauties on there too.

I always take note when my high-standard parents say they enjoyed their food at a restaurant, and Torchy’s was one of them. My stepdad even said they had the«best chicken fajita taco he’s ever had.» Dang. That’s really saying something because this guy is almost never satisfied with his choice of meal. My personal favorite is the fried avocado taco, it has never failed me. My only issue is with their corn tortillas– they usually fall apart before I’m finished eating. Even when there are 2 wrapped together! Ah well. Their queso is delicious as well. A couple months ago I finally remembered to try their taco of the month, the chicken & waffle taco which came with a fried egg and bacon… The heart attack was completely worth it. Oh! I also went to the new Torchy’s way up north — they have alcohol now?! The margaritas were so good! Please Torchy’s, make this a thing at all your locations!

I had been to Torchy’s in other cities but not Austin(I know! Boo-hiss) so this was exciting for me. It had been a while since I had tasted these tacos so I got some popular ones off the menu. Ordered the Trailer Park and the Brushfire and never regretted it. I got the Trailer Park«trashy» style which meant out with the lettuce and in with the queso — best decision I’ve made in a while! That taco had crispy breaded chicken, ooey gooey queso, green chile, pico de gallo, and amazing poblano sauce. Sooo delicious. The Brushfire was more subtle — the Jamaican Jerk chicken was not as flavorful as I had hoped but I really enjoyed the mango and the sour cream sauce. The chips and quac are also wonderful. The avocado is so fresh and the chips are hot and crisp. I had to limit myself from eating too many so I could save room for my tacos! At lunch it took a little while to get our food but it’s worth the wait for sure. Also, if you sit outside, be prepared to be dive-bombed by taco-hungy pigeons. I’d never seen birds devour left over corn tortillas so fast… Check this place out and eat our food outside if you dare!

There is nothing wrong with Torchy’s ever. They are perfect. Never have had a bad time or bad food after about 20 visits. I hope they become the new Chipotle and take over the world. The Queso almost always comes out fast and delicious. Their tacos are super creative and well-priced. I take out of town people here to have their mind blown. Only downside is that their popularity makes them a bit crowded sometimes. But that’s a high quality problem.

Ok first off the queso aren’t even queso. My queso was just spicy chile peppers blended with a few bits of cheese on top and avocado on the bottom. Safe to say I just eat the chips, plain :( I got the independent taco and didn’t realize how spicy It would be. I just ate the one big slice of avocado and spooned off everything and ate the tortilla. Employees are rushed and unfriendly. The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is the drinks. I love the pink one(forgot the name) but it’s amazing.

Been spending most our lives Eating in a hipster’s paradise… Spicy tacos and a hidden menu? Consider me there! Though there are numerous locations throughout hipster-centric Austin, I stopped in this one for lunch on my way through to Dallas. I had heard great things about their secret items, so I decided to order something not on the normal menu – the Ace of Spades – and it did not disappoint. The AoS features a jalapeño sausage link split in half, then topped with grilled brisket, a fried egg, green chile queso, cotija cheese, sour cream and Diablo sauce, served on a single flour tortilla. The portion size was humongous; I was hungry and couldn’t even finish it. The queso/chips were great and there were plenty of choices for hot sauces. Unfortunately this was not the case with the pop machine, as they ran out of several flavors and just put ‘sorry’ signs over the empty spigots. Restaurant was pretty clean and employees were cool, dude. Cute demon baby mascot. Would definitely return were I ever in the area again.

I like Torchy’s. I think they are a bit overrated and a little expensive but still good. Their menu has fun names like the democrat and the republican, which I have had both. My most recent visit I got the trailer park — trashy and the brushfire. The trashy part of the trailer park means they poor queso on it. Like I already said their food here is good just expensive for what you are getting. I also wish I had known that they have individual/half orders or queso …(this is not on the menu). There is also a secret menu here I have heard about, but not taken the time to look up or try. You can call your order in ahead of time and pick it up in store and you get to skip the line when you come in the store. So Torchy’s is not my favorite taco place but it definitely is a local favorite. You know … it’s A-OK.

I love Torchy’s. My husband and I go here for our date nights :) It’s great. Fast service. Food is great. I love their baja shrimp, it’s always great tasting. The queso is also always consistent and good. We didn’t realize that we can get a half order on the queso but now we know and it’s perfect for the two of us.
