This is the best sub I’ve had in years. I got the Southsider. The toppings are very fresh and well proportioned. The sandwich was served warm. Service was fast. I will definitely be going back.

This review is from 6 months ago. I am reposting because it got removed. Since my original post the shop seems to have posted correct hours but at the time the review was correct and the owner didn’t provide the courtesy of a response. I stand by my review below. This a fly by night place. Got here at 5:30 to get something to go and doors are locked even though sign posted on door says 6pm is when they close. They actually closed earlier than 5:30 from the way the place looked inside. Appears to be a shoddy operation.

Great subs, incredibly fast. Always go there when needing a quick munch, and highly recommend to all my friends nearby. If in the neighborhood, Toasties is a solid choice.

I come here for lunch all the time and have never been disappointed! The sandwiches come out fast and with a smile. DE-lish!!! The Roma chicken is out of this world!!!

I’m reason I’m only giving them 3 stars because I want them to be open later!!! I never get to enjoy their delicious sandwiches because they close before I get off work. Other than that, they are amazing!!! The people are extremely friendly, and the sandwiches are seriously the best in the area! Please stay open later!!!

Always a tasty toasted sub. I’ve had their salads too and they’re quite good. The menu’s a bit overwhelming but that’s really a good thing. Quick service and haven’t had a bad meal yet.

Bahn Mi salad was amazing. I’ve kind of avoided this place for no good reason, but super glad I tried it. For the price and quality, it’s a great deal. Décor could use a revamp though, not the most pleasant place to be for lunch break.

I have been to the original location many times and loved it, but this location is just ok. I tried the Cuban for the first time and my husband had the club. Both of us were underwhelmed. Not terrible, but not great.

They have mastered the art of a messy juicy sub that’s awesome because each bite is as good as the next. Also the combo choices could keep you coming back for weeks. A bit on the oily side in grilling of sub that could have been a bit less yet overall added to greatness of sub. Nice addition to ever growing SOLA choices of restaurant that is beginning to reach epic status!

Third times a charm! I am so glad they opened this location. I’ve tried the southsider, the stallion, and the bambino. Can’t say anything negative about any of them. The cashiers are friendly. It’s never been busy when I’ve gone so my sandwiches are usually ready in 5 mins. Can’t wait to try the Reuben, the Cuban and the banh mi.

I love Toastie’s, but this location is eh. I had the caesar wrap and it was pretty good, the flavors were there, but the chicken was not. They basically put, like, a strip of chicken and diced that one strip into my wrap. What I disliked the most about this location is the atmosphere. This place looks unfinished. Their chip stand looks like something they grabbed from Wal-Mart and put in their store with no further insight. The walls have a cold feeling. It smells funny too, but probably because it’s still so new. I will go to Toasties on Lamar near Riverside to get my fix, I enjoy their atmosphere much better, it feels more Austin and not skimpy. If you’re in the area and need a bite, this location won’t kill you but if you can hold off and drive a couple miles north on Lamar I say do that. :)

Not the biggest fan. There are three other sandwich places you can walk to from this one that taste better.

I got the Bambino and it was pretty darn good: grilled chicken, pepperoni, a little bacon, a good amount of spinach and lots of cheese all on a grilled pita. Original and delicious! My husband got the Italian, which looked standard except for the toasted cheese on the top of the bread. Yum. They also had Zapp’s brand chips from Louisiana, which were way better than the usual sandwich shop chip offerings. Nice, clean atmosphere too.

Ehhhh just okay. I had been driving by this place on south Lamar for the past couple weeks and thought I’d give it a try. They toast the bread and then throw on cold meats and toppings. Nothing spectacular, my sandwich was over dressed too which didn’t help. I think I’m going to stick to planet sub on south Lamar. Positives though it was clean inside with a cool atmosphere.
